The Truth

Jake swung his gaze and stared at Sebastian in pure horror. He hoped that the man was just joking but from all indications, he didn't look as if he was. Sebastian ignored the look of fear that sprayed across Jake's face and took a sip of his drink. He had come to the end of himself and it was obvious to Jake. Jake ignored him and took a sip of his drink as well. Together, they looked into space, both refusing to say a word to each other.

Finally, Jake broke the uncomfortable silence that fell on them. "If you don't want to take care of it, then who will?" He still didn't look at Sebastian as he spoke. He just said Whatever came to his mind.

"I believe you're the one the company was left for. It's about time you take care of it and allow the likes of us to have a breather. I need to go back to my occupation."
