Ch. 17 - Stargazing

In front of her divine beauty, Jackson could only remain speechless. The young woman introduced herself with grace. Words escape his mouth unwillingly as if an invisible force urged him to speak. “N-Nice to meet you!”

Elena chuckled after seeing his embarrassed state. She looked at her dad and smiled before returning to the car. Warren patted Jackson on the shoulder and walked towards the car, leaving Jackson frantically trying to catch up.

Just before opening the car’s door, Jackson glanced at the wooden log cabin with visible nostalgia on his face. He spent the last month recuperating here. He grew attached to the place, but in his heart, he understood this was simply a step. His eyes beamed with vigor when he turned his gaze toward Southfield. “My journey began. I’ll return to you!”
