Chapter 5. Give Us a House!

"Isn't it worth it?" Axell asked again.

"What is?"

"You ruined my life with this marriage, and here I am not considered human. So, there's a price to pay, wifey," Axell chuckled as he patted Emily's cheek.

"Don't think you can get me! As you know, you don't deserve to be married to me!" replied Emily with a chuckle.

She even swatted away Axell's hand, which was still on her face, very rudely.

"We'll see who falls to their knees in love."

"Ck! That sucks!"

Axell smiled, grinning, which annoyed Emily even more.

Right now, Emily really felt like she had lost to Axell.

"I'm going to ask you to move into my mom's house," Axell said then.

Emily widened her eyes at that; even thinking about it made her shudder in horror.

"No way, that would be a cramped, stuffy hut!" replied Emily, refusing Axell's request.

"You're my wife now, so you have to come with me wherever I go," Axell said casually.

"I still don't want to; I'm not a goat who has to sleep in a rickety house," replied Emily, who was still adamant about refusing Axell's request.

Emily couldn't imagine that she, who was used to living in luxury, would have to live in a shabby house owned by Axell's poor family.

"If you don't want to, ask Mr. Mattew for a house for us. Because I can't live in this house," Axell said later.

"You go; no one wants you here," Emily replied.

"Remember our agreement, Emily. If you forget, I'll remind you of the contents," Axell said later.

"What a jerk!" shouted Emily in annoyance, and she immediately left Axell alone, who continued to smile at Emily's departure.

"Successful step one," Axell said with a satisfied smile.

Getting Emily to move out of Mr. Mattew's house was a tactic being played by Axell. He wanted to slowly drain the Mattew family fortune.

Axell knew Emily wouldn't want to live in her mother's modest home. And surely Emily will ask her father for a new home.

And finally, they moved into a house bought by Mr. Matthew. The house was located in a part of the West that was very far from the city and remote. Even while on the way to move, Emily fainted due to a fight with Axell.

**

Axell returned to work as usual, despite being married to the company owner's daughter.

And this morning, Axell was already struggling with the photocopier, receiving orders to copy various files from all departments.

"Hi, Bro. Newlyweds are already at work," greeted one of his colleagues, Hardi.

"Nothing to do at home," Axell replied as he continued to tidy up the papers that had just come out of the photocopier.

"Being married to a rich man's daughter, there are many servants at home. But, anyway, why are you still here? You should be promoted; you're already the son-in-law of the company owner," Hardi said again.

"It's all just status on paper. Originally, I was still like this."

"You're too modest; you're Mr. Mattew's chosen son-in-law. Of all the single men in this office, he chose you. How was the first night? Did you manage to split the durian?" Hardi asked curiously.

"There was nothing to split; the durian was rotten," Axell chuckled with a sad face.

"So?"

"Yes. It's clear now why I was chosen, isn't it? I'm covering up for her pregnant daughter," Axell replied quietly.

"But her dsughter is beautiful; I honestly like her. However, she's very strict," Axell chuckled.

The two laughed, although there was a clear look of sadness in Axell's eyes as he remembered his fate of not even being able to choose the woman he should marry.

Tak! Tak!

The sound of footsteps wearing high heels heading towards the copy room made Axell and Hardi appear silent because they were sure someone was coming.

It turned out to be a beautiful and sexy woman who always wore clothes that were very tight on her body; she was Mattew's secretary, Lily.

Her beautiful face came into the room.

"Axell Waned, call Mr. Mattew to his room right now," Lily said haughtily. And it seemed like she was so disgusted with the room that she didn't even enter it and just waltzed away.

Axel sighed heavily. He no longer knew what Mattew had called him for. If it was a private matter, they should have done it at home.

Axell felt uncomfortable coming into Mattew's room; he was just a lowly employee. And couldn't bear to see several pairs of eyes looking at him suspiciously. Especially now, everyone in the Mattew Group office already knew that Axell was the son-in-law of the owner of this company.

Axell walked slowly to the room of his in-laws, who had never considered him a son-in-law. Perhaps for Matthew, this marriage was a business transaction. And Axell got his fee.

Tock! Tock! Tock!

"Come in!" A man's voice came from inside. And Axell turned the door handle. And the sight he saw inside the room was dazzling. At that moment, Lily seemed to be buttoning up her shirt. It made Axell think negatively.

"You called me? Axell asked politely.

"Yes!"

Axell sat on the chair next to Lily, right in front of Matthew.

"This is for you!" said Matthew as he threw a thick brown envelope in front of Axell.

Axell just let out a long sigh.

"Axell, hold your temper. This is a start. He's waving the war flag. Let him have his fun for now," said Axell in his heart, because if he was honest, Axell was currently covered with emotions.

"What is this?" asked Axell while holding the envelope. And Axell felt that the envelope contained money.

"The remaining payment for your marriage to Emily. According to our agreement, I will give you the full payment after you get married," Mattew replied smugly, explaining to Axell about the envelope.

"Alright," Axell replied, accepting the envelope and immediately putting it in his bag.

Axell would not waste the money. Mattew had given it to him, and he would give it to his mother later.

"Now you can go out! Our business is done!" Matthew shooed Axell out of his room. Axell wondered why Mattew didn't just transfer the money to his account. Why did he have to receive such a thick bill? And it was really inconvenient. However, Axell wasn't going to protest.

Hearing Mattew send Axell away, the secretary seemed to smile smugly at Axell, even though Lily had not done anything in Mattew's room; she only showed off her chest.

And then Lily waltzed out of the room. It wasn't Axell who came out; it was Lily.

"Before I get out of here, I have one request," Axell said then.

"Who do you think you are? How dare you make a request of me?" Mattew replied irritably.

"It's about me and Emily," Axell replied.

Hearing his daughter's name mentioned, Mattew finally softened a little. "Say it quickly!"

"Give us a house, because I'm going to ask Emily to move out of your house," Axell said.

"Hahaha, you're just Emily's temporary husband. After Emily gives birth, you'll get a divorce, so don't get too ambitious," Mattew replied with a chuckle.

Axell took out the letter of agreement that he and Emily had agreed upon. Then thrust it in front of Matthew.

"What the hell is this?" asked Matthew angrily.
