CHAPTER 13

Facing the surrounding gazes, Emily felt like she was in a difficult position. It was only at this moment that she realized that she had been too clever for her good from the beginning. If she had treated Leon with sincerity from the moment he entered the door, the outcome would have been very different.

But now, not only had she gained nothing, but she had also lost face in front of her relatives who were mocking her. She had almost no choice but to seek forgiveness. If she wanted to achieve success and prosperity, she had no choice but to rely on Leon.

Otherwise, Leon could easily bankrupt the Diva Construction Company in a fit of anger. However, Emily was uncertain whether Leon would truly forgive her if she kneeled in front of him in front of everyone.

He might just pretend to forgive her while still holding a grudge in his heart, causing her to suffer humiliation for nothing.

Seeing Emily's hesitation, Lex, who was standing beside her, did not hesitate to kneel directly on the floor, whether it was genuine or fake regret, with snot and tears streaming down his face.

"Leon, we were temporarily blinded by greed. Please give us a chance for Emerald's sake. I promise that from now on, we will not cause you any trouble or make things difficult for you. As her uncle, I am kneeling before you."

This kneeling shocked the whole audience. Emily was stunned at first, but then secretly breathed a sigh of relief. After all, the uncle was still an elderly person. With Lex leading the way, she, as a mother, did not need to kneel either.

Furthermore, with the elders kneeling in front of him, could Leon, the future son-in-law, really be so heartless?

So, Emily took advantage of the situation and said, "Leon, l apologize publicly for everything that happened before. I'm sorry. From now on, we are all one family and should get along harmoniously. I realize my attitude was wrong, and I hope you can give us a way out."

Leon stood with his hands behind his back, his gaze fixed on the two people in front of him. He thought that things had come to this point, and yet they were still playing tricks and trying to deceive him.

They were trying to sing a duet in front of him, thinking that he couldn't see through their act. It was ridiculous. "I'm sorry, my decision won't change. The acquisition plan will be canceled, and my marriage to Emerald has nothing to do with you. I only recognize Emerald, not you!" Leon said and then directly took Emerald and left the villa.

One by one, the relatives saw that the situation was not good and found excuses to leave, dispersing unhappily.

In less than five minutes, only Emily and her brother were left in the spacious villa. Emily stomped her foot and cursed loudly, "Leon, this bastard, actually trampled on our dignity in front of so many relatives!"

"And Emerald, this unfilial daughter, didn't even say a good word to us." Lex stood up unsteadily, his face full of grief, and said, "Sis, stop scolding. What should we do now that things have come to this?"

"What's the rush? We can just break the jar and go to Lewis, the steward, in the name of the bride's elder to request a meeting with the groom's elder of the Panama in Arrison family. I don't believe that this name isn't qualified enough!" Emily gritted her teeth.

"I understand. You mean that even if Leon doesn't give us a dowry or anything, it doesn't mean that the Panama in Arrison family won't. We still have a chance!" Lex slapped his forehead and immediately laughed, exclaiming how clever his sister was.

"Now that Leon's attitude is clear, there's nothing we can do no matter what we try. So we have to bypass him and start from the Panama in Arrison family. I don't believe that such a big family would be generous!" Emily crossed her arms.

"As long as we can get a big sum of money, the face we lost today won't matter, Lex smirked, feeling pleased with himself. On the other hand.

Leon sat in Emerald's car and left the Emily Villa area. Along the way, Emerald repeatedly apologized and felt extremely ashamed, wishing she could find a hole to hide in. Leon didn't blame Emerald for her guilt, but instead comforted her. After all, it wasn't Emerald's fault, but rather the greed of some people.

After about half an hour's drive, the car stopped on the outskirts of Cuba and entered Alin Dean's private medical clinic. It was thanks to Alin Dean's help last night that Edith was transferred here, and she was very safe. Alin Dean came up excitedly, "Young Master Arrison Leon, I have good news to tell you!"

"My mom woke up?" Leon's body tensed.

"That's right, Mrs. Edith has already woken up, and her body is fine. However, she needs to stay here for a while to rest and recover. As for post-operative maintenance and other issues, I will personally take care of it!" Alin Dean patted his chest.

Without hesitation, Leon pushed open the door of the ward. As expected, Edith had already woken up and was lying weakly on the bed.

"Mom!"

Leon quickly walked up and leaned close to the bed. "Child, Mom is fine. You don't have to worry too much. Dr. Dean has told me everything. Thanks to Dr. Dean's help this time, you must thank him well!" Edith's voice was weak, and her face was pale.

Alin Dean quickly waved his hand, "I am the appointed physician of the Panama in Arrison family. These things are my duty!" Leon expressed his gratitude, "Dr. Dean is too modest.

If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know where to send my mom to be safe. I will remember this favor and feel free to ask for anything in the future." At this point, Leon turned to Edith and said, "Mom, there are some things I want to ask you face to face."

"Child, I know you must have many doubts in your heart, so go ahead and ask," Edith said, as she had expected this. "What about that person with the surname Arrison? What happened back then..." Leon held his breath.

Edith sighed heavily. "It's just as you thought. Your father was heartless and unfeeling. He abandoned us mother and son for that woman, Beatrice. For over twenty years, he never cared or asked about us." Alin Dean shook his head, his face full of indignation.

"Young Master Leon, in terms of seniority, Beatrice should have come after Madam Edith. And you are the true eldest son of the Arrison family in Panama, not some illegitimate child. Madam Edith's suffering can be said to be unfair!"

Eldest son!

Upon hearing this answer, Leon's mind was buzzing. "In any case, now that you know the truth, what do you plan to do?" Edith gently patted Leon's hand, but her eyes were filled with worry as if she was afraid of losing him.

"Mom, you've suffered so much over the years, and I haven't had a chance to show my filial piety. Now that I finally have the opportunity, I will use my way to clear your name and fight for your dignity!" Leon's eyes flashed, and his words were like thunder
