I Can't Be Someone Great

The whole hall looked at the figure of the crying Orion running away.

Unfortunately, it did not stop the mockery, but there were more.

"L-Lord Orion!" Liana tried to chase after him.

"Liana leave him." The Emperor stopped her.

"B-But father...!"

"You have a job as a princess, don't forget."

Liana closed her mouth. She was the princess of the empire, so she had to accompany the others heroes in priority.

Aura and Austin tried to rebuke the others but it was useless. As for the others who didn't mock Orion, they were just indifferent.

"Please heroes."

A sweet voice echoed and the mocking stopped.

Turning around, they saw Liana looking at them with an award-winning gentle smile.

"Please follow me. We will explain to you about our world."

Saying that, she walked ahead. Her voice was soft but even an idiot could tell that she was angry.

Angry at those who made fun of Orion and those who didn't do anything either.

She was the princess of the Empire, so she couldn't rebuke the heroes as their status was rather high in Solaria. But what for Orion's classmates ?

Nobody had talked to him since he came into the hall. Even if they were not his friends, they could still ask about his well-being after his terrible state, but no one did.

Now they were either mocking him or watching the others doing it like a show.

Liana thought, eyeing nearly everyone.

Elena had been feeling guilty ever since, but now it'd gotten worse.

Anna and Sienna were feeling disgusted towards their classmates mocking him.

They all knew what happened to his family after all.

But it was not a reason for them to rebuke others.

For them, Orion had to take care of his problems alone, though they couldn't help but feel sad for him a little.

Orion ran away from the hall while crying.

Reaching the room where he had been with Liana before, he closed the door behind him and sat behind the door.

'Ahahah! Even his family must be laughing hard!'

Recalling what one of his classmates said, he felt very pathetic.

"I am sorry mom, dad, Saria. I can't be someone great..."

While all of his classmates had the ability to protect themselves, he had none of that. Just an ability to fix broken weapons or artifacts...

"W-wait!"

Orion immediately took out the two pieces of his broken ring.

"Please tell me I can at least do that...!"

Clenching the pieces in his left hand, he closed his eyes and let his mana circulate toward his hand.

The pieces of the ring glowed in silver light.

Clink!

A metallic sound rang out.

Orion slowly opened his palm and gasped. The metallic blue ring was back in one piece as if it had never broken in the first place.

"Yes!"

Orion shouted and hugged the ring on his chest.

"At least I was able to do that..." He murmured, wiping his tears.

'You are not pathetic !'

Liana's words rang out in his head.

"I should be able to do something."

***

One hour ago in another Empire...

In a spacious room, a handsome silver-haired man was sitting on a throne with his eyes closed.

On his left was a beautiful black-haired woman. She had beautiful sky blue eyes. Anyone seeing her would say that she was around her early twenties.

Rumble!

Suddenly, a tremor shook the room.

"Wh-what ?" The black-haired woman was surprised by what happened.

The silver-haired man finally opened his eyes. His blue eyes were narrowed and a frown emerged on his face.

"Dear..."

"I know Diana..."

The man replied to his wife in a bitter tone.

"Helio did it."

Clank!

"Your Imperial Majesty."

Suddenly, an old man in silver armor came into the audience hall.

"What is it, Zack ?" The Emperor asked, even though he knew the reason for his coming.

"The Solaria Empire summoned heroes from another world."

"I know Zack. The energy from the soul relic came from there."

"What are your..."

Clank!

"Father."

Before Zack asked his question, the giant doors opened again.

An extremely beautiful silver-haired and blue-eyed young girl came.

Seeing his daughter, the Emperor's face softened.

"What is it, Selena ?" Diana, the Empress and the girl's mother asked.

"Father, Mother, the Solaria Empire summoned heroes from another world. We are in danger."

Selena said in a calm tone, but there was a hint of panic in her voice.

"Don't worry about that. They summoned heroes mainly to defend against the Ankouna Empire."

The Emperor replied, reassuringly.

"But father, after them, we are their next enemy with the Niveis Kingdom..."

Selena said in a worried tone.

"She is right, Linus." Diana supported her daughter.

Hearing the words of his wife and his daughter, the Emperor Linus closed his eyes and fell in thought.

His Empire, the Lunarstella Empire, had been in conflict with the Solaria Empire since decades ago. The reason being the Lunarstella Empire worshipping an heretic God, according to the Solaria Empire.

As for the Lunarstella Empire, they were angry at the Solaria Empire's affront towards their Goddess Lunaria.

The Emperors couldn't do anything when their subjects, mainly high-ranking nobles, were at each other's throats.

But there was an even more dangerous common threat between the two Empires.

The Ankouna Empire was bordering both of their Empires and they were attacked several times by their army.

Why ?

Because the Emperor of the Ankouna Empire was really hell bent on ravaging their empire for no reason. His Empire was thrice the size of their Empire and he had the biggest army on the continent.

Thus, the Lunarstella Empire and Solaria Empire didn't really have time to quarrel with each other when there was an even more dangerous threat at their border.

Unfortunately, while the Lunarstella Empire stood firm against the attacks of the Ankouna Empire, it was not the same for the Solaria Empire.

Even with their allies, the Fulgura Kingdom and the Nychterin Empire, they were still in a tough situation.

The Lunarstella Empire was a little stronger than the Solaria Empire and they had their own ally, the Niveis Kingdom.

Sensing the unavoidable outcome if they did nothing, the Solaria Empire decided to summon Heroes from another world. In the past there were records of a past summoning and it was the best solution for them.

The previous heroes saved the continent at that time, after all.

Unfortunately, the Lunarstella Empire didn't have a Soul Relic, which was an extremely rare relic left by the gods.

"Zack."

The Emperor finally spoke.

"Yes Milord."

"Send an envoy to the Solaria Empire to resume our truce talks."

There were already talks about a truce ongoing between the two Empires but it was on pause because of the sudden increase of Ankouna army attacks.

But now Linus thought that it was the best time to form an alliance against the Ankouna Empire.

"As you wish, Milord."
