Trip Down Memory Lane(Part 2) : Eugene

There is a large oak tree in the center of a garden. Green grass everywhere . One can smell the flowers. surrounded by beauty There is a path leading to the edge of the forest, and a pond on the right. sounds of swords colliding could be heard as two people were sparring with wooden swords.

If one looked closely they can see that these two were children but the way they were sparring was something one would not expect from such young ones. A young girl at the age of 12 was fighting a guy at the age of 14, they had smiles as bright as the sun on their faces which showed that they were enjoying it.

The Girl had Long White Hair reaching till her shoulders , Gray eyes and petite white face. The boy had Black hair till his neck , gray eyes and a handsome pale face.  

She swung her sword at him, but he blocked it. He ducked under a wild slash and ran his sword along her side, then stabbed her in the stomach but she blocked it at an unimaginable speed then she jumped at him and grabbed his sword with her other hand. The boy did not expect that he tried to step back but it was a wrong move because when he was trying to make distance she stabbed him on his neck with her wooden sword.

He fell down groaning in pain. The girl watched with a smile stuck up on her face as if satisfied by the outcome.

“This is the 16 time you lost Hughes just give up" said the girl

"I got close though, one of these days I will beat you, your highness Lily," said young Hughes.

"Yeah you really got close but not close enough ha ha" said Lily laughing.

While laughing from the corner of her eye she saw someone sitting there reading a book very seriously. 

A boy with red hair, blue eyes and brown skin at the age of 12 was sitting on a rock and reading a book very seriously. If one looked carefully they can tell he was way too engrossed in it.

"Hey Euge, come have a duel with me.. you're the only one whom I didn't defeat in Ancorna palace!" She said with excitement written all over her face.

"Ah why should I so you can beat me up, no thanks Li." Said young Eugene

"Come on father made you his disciple at least have some dignity and try" Said Lily

"I'm gonna have to say no to that go find some other victim" said Eugene.

"Let her just beat you up once Euge she will stop bothering you," said a young boy walking into the forest. He had white hair just like Lily , gray eyes and a handsome pale face in its own right , he was also 12 year old.

"Not a surprise for you to say that Nick, afterall she beats you up everyday." Said Eugene.

"Ha, why do you need to bring that up?" Said Nick while walking and sitting beside Eugene.

Hughes nodded at this comment. Lily gave everyone a glance and then pouted.

"You guys are talking about me as if I am a monster or something! So rude!" She said,

"Alright I duel with you once, only once" said Eugene as he got up.

"Alright take this sword" Lily threw a wooden sword near him. Eugene picked it up lazily and stood there as if he was a punching bag waiting to be punched.

Lily didn't like that look in his eyes as if he had already lost. She became annoyed. Fighting someone who doesn't even have the will to fight is just plain boring for her. It's true that she was one of the best fighters in the new generation but Still losing hope even before it. Tsk.

"Alright start 3!" Said Nick while Hughes sat down on a nearby rock.

"2" Lily had a determined look. She was thinking of finishing this fast and claim that she had beaten all the new generation in the Ancorna Capital.

"1" Eugene looked as if he had already surrendered himself to the fate of getting beaten.

"Fight!" As soon as Nick said that Lily rushed towards Eugene. Thinking of how she was going to tease him after this but reality was way different she tripped and fell! Just when she was thinking of getting up and recovering from this Eugene Placed his sword on her neck and said.

“You lost Li”

Both Nick and Hughes looked at each other in disbelief one has to know that everyone knows that Eugene is not a good fighter to be precise he is one of the worst in the palace. The other princes all ways beat up Eugene saying that they are training him but in reality everyone knew they just wanted to beat him up.

“No I tripped, this doesn’t count” Said Lily again standing in a stance

“Well if it were a battlefield you already lost your life, not looking around your surroundings is also a fault” said Eugene then started walking out of the forest.

 “No Wait!” Lily tried to stop him but Nick held her hand.

“What? Nick?” Lily turned and looked at him a little angrily but Nick didn’t budge and pointed his finger towards the place where Lily fell.

There was green grass that’s all she thought at first but when she looked carefully she saw the grass was knotted together and suddenly it struck her.

“He set up a trap!! But when?!” She blunt out

Hughes started laughing out loud , if one looked at him anyone can tell he was holding back his laughter till now.

“When he lazily picked up the sword, he was acting like he was picking it up slowly because he was lazy but in reality it took him time to knot the grass.” Said Nick who was also holding his laughter.

“What! That’s how?” Lily’s head was spinning now she can’t comprehend what just happened.

“He knew he couldn't beat you with a sword so looked for alternatives and observed that you pay less attention to your surroundings when fighting so he took a gamble and it worked out.” Said Nick and finally he too bursted out into laughter.

Lily looked into the direction Eugene went and suddenly she remembered her father’s words 

“In battle Being strong is not important but being smart is , that’s the whole reason why Ancorna always loses to Conley”

“Alright Guys I need to go meet up with Lady Lain and Lord Keith” After saying this Hughes walked away.

“Yeah Mother said we are going to meet big brother Jaren today so let’s go” Said Nick to this Lily nodded.
