Chapter 13

Phillip and the siblings ran for a few miles into the forest surrounding the city. Hopefully, they could lose the pursuing guards that way.

They were running deeper into the forest now, but the footsteps coming after them just wouldn’t seem to stop.

Dina was already getting tired, her breathing became more intense with every few steps they took.

“These guys don’t seem like the type to forgive and forget.” Phillip said, trying to add some humor to the situation. But from the tired looks he got from Dina and Andrew, it did the opposite of its intended purpose.

“Hey, can’t you just do what you did before? Like carry us and run really far?” Andrew asked him In between breaths.

“Well, it’s not impossible. But the last time I did that I used about half my energy. I don’t think I’m good enough to travel that fast with people yet.” Phillip said while dodging a fallen tree.
