Chapter 5 : Rebooted

Spike just woke up. There was an impenetrable iron wall Around him again . He looked at his arm again, the iron arm attached again that he had previously used to fight horrible monsters in the arena of death.

Slowly, Spike was able to bring back memories of himself. Spike knew that in the past he was a ruthless, heartless gangster who had no mercy on his enemies. Spike feels that his being here is payment for what he did in the past. A Karma

With the body feeling so weak, Spike tried to run in front of the cell gate he was in, screaming trying to get out of the place.

"Hey! Whoever's in there! Quickly get me out of this place!"

Spike hit the gate with his iron fist, repeatedly with enormous force. It's just the weird thing is his iron arm didn't work the way he did against the gorlocks. The iron hand is so weak and has no power at all.

"Stupid hand! You can fight those monsters, but you can't break this rust! Hurry up and do your job properly!" Spike yelled loudly at his own arm.

No one hears, sees, or notices the spikes in this room. Everything was quiet, like he was alone in this place.

As the minutes passed, Spike felt tired either to scream or just to move his body. Maybe, that's the effect when Spike's last fight started. He suddenly remembered what Hudson had said.

"Marin… I’m sorry.. I shouldn't have anything to do with you, maggot."

Spikes start raining some tears. He regrets what he did to that girl. The daughter of his own boss. If only they hadn't had an illicit relationship, maybe Spike wouldn't have been so concerned about the threat that Hudson was making.

Especially marin, who's now pregnant with his child. If anything had happened to Marin, there's a good chance that Spike wouldn't have become who he is. Maybe he'll throw his humanity off the map.

Exhausted, Spike leaning against the gate noticed something in his cell room.

Turns out over there, there's an interactive screen that I can tap to communicate with. And between those choices, Spike tried to push the button with "information" on it.

[ Prisoners Serial Number : #404 ]

[ Name : Spike Bretman ]

[ Affiliation : Gangster ]

[ Rank : 245 ]

[ Credit Points : 20.000 ]

[ Power Type : Enhancer ]

Spike was a little confused by some of the terms on the screen or something. As is rank. He doesn't know why He's at rank 250. What do the credit points of 20,000 used for? And what the hell did "Power Type : Enhancers" mean? Instead of adding more information to him, Spike  filled with more questions than ever before.

Hoping to gain more information, Spike pressed back the screen from that monitor. He tried to choose another option: "Prison Status."

[ Prison Name : Battleborn ]

[ Current Prisoners Capacity : 223 ]

[ Prison Status : 90% secured ]

[ Prison Background : Battleborn was a prison that was designed to find and make perfect fighters. Only the strongest survives.]

Spike has a little understanding about this place. He feels that he's been captured and locked up in this place because Hudson believes that maybe Spike is capable of something. It's just, Spike doesn't know how Hudson knows and recognize him. Spike thought, "is Hudson someone from the underworld?"

Spike came out of the screen on the prison status. Moving on to the next option: Shop.

[Shop is currently not available. Please come at another time ]

With so many question marks on his head. He's thinking, what's the deal with that Shop's choice? Is it like a prison cafeteria where he can buy food or something? Whatever it is, Spike needs to throw all his assumptions about this prison. Because this place wasn't meant to be a prison that he knows of.

Of the five choices on the screen, there are only three choices that spike can choose from. As for the other two, there's an empty box in there with nothing written on it. Maybe, Spike can choose those two choices in the future.

But just before Spike tried to change the screen, the monitor suddenly became something else. A still image with the opaque effects of old TV.

"Spike… You've finally woken up..."

Spike recognized that voice. Even if it were distorted, it was no one else but Hudson. That temperamental guy held his own hand so tight, he was still holding back the rage and emotions that were unbridled in him at the moment.

"You … How dare you face me again? Just get me out of here you son of a bitch!"

“Huh… Spike… I'm tired of listening to you trying to get out of here so soon. What, you know everything about this place? I want you to explore and explore what's here first. You should know information about the place where you live eternally."

The man's words, instead of soothing the spikes, made him even more furious.

"I'm not staying here! I shall go out and find your very existence in order to crush the bone of your imperfect head."

"Hmm… enough. I have enough work this time. I'm sick of hearing your nonsense. And for today, as I'm being kind, let me give you a little solace."

[ Access granted. Commence Social protocol. All cell gates are available to be opened. ]

Spike looked back, the gate was open. Thus make spike able to exit the chamber at this time.

"Why did you open those gates?"

"Spike… You said you wanted me to release you. Yet now you question why I free you. What do you really want?"

Feeling that he had a high opportunity, Spike simply opened the gate and left the cell.

"It was a foolish mistake for you to set me free. Don't expect you to survive this misfortune."

"Ah... Okay, okay. Whatever you say. Anyway, I have some advice for you. Don't do bad things to people. You might consider yourself a monster and invincible in the upper world. And yet here, you're just a cracker. They will not hesitate to crush you utterly."

Regardless of Hudson's advice, Spike just walked right out of that cell.

New place, ready for Spike to explore now…
