Chapter 6 : Long Enough

In front of Spike, it turned out to be just a narrow, dark passage. There was no guard standing in front or even a CCTV camera to monitor it. Spike's expectations were too high, he thought the prison was too tight. But knowing this, Spike felt like he could slip away easily.

To the left of Spike's cell is an empty room. Spike can even open the room easily. And of course, there was no one in the room.

"Hey… What were you doing in that room?"

Spike's in shock, someone caught him breaking into that room. The spikes ran like hell. He feared it was a guards and was caught by him. Spike hasn't even had time to see who's behind him.

The passageway it runs turns out to be quite long, with the curve around it more and more. It's as if this passage is just an incredibly large circular route. But then there was an open wall, and the spikes looked down there.

"Wait. Isn't that where I fought the Gorlocks before?"

Spike just realized that this hallway is where the crowd cheered him on as he fought Gorlock. They're all standing here, like watching a sporting event.

He kept running long enough, until Spike returned to his original cell.

"Why did I come back to this place!"

"Hey? Are you looking for a way out?" Ask someone to Spike. It was the same sound as the voice that had caught him in an empty cell.

Frustrated that he did not know his way out, Spike retorted. "You'd better be quiet. I don't want someone like you falling for my escape plan."

The man giggled at Spike's words.

"Ahahaha. Which way are you planning to escape? This whole place is locked down. You wouldn't be able to get out if you were just planning on running all the way down these hallways."

Spike was stunned. That guy he met probably knows more about this place than Spike himself.

"Then tell me? Do you know another way out of here?"

The man with long hair and white hair yet did not see any wrinkled face on his face pointed to the wall that read "Canteen Hall”.

"Calm down before you plan your escape, it's best to fill your stomach first. You'll have no energy if you don't eat.”

"I don't have time. Someone is in danger right now. I want you to help me escape from this place."

Whatever Spike had in mind, he simply trusted that man. Even though the man had such a kind look on his face, he was in the same prison as he was. He must have done something bad in the past. That shows how frustrated Spike is right now.

The hairy man continued his way to the "Canteen Hall" gate, ignoring the spikes.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Spike asked, confused.

"I told you, I wanted to eat. Whether you want to come with me or not"

With no other choice, Spike ran after the man in order to walk alongside him.

 "Wait for me!"

Ten levels of stairs are coming down. But somehow Spike didn't feel the fatigue, and neither did the man. With his smiling, friendly face walked as though he had nothing on his mind right now.

"Hey… Don't you remember who you were before you got here? Why are you so quiet locked up in this freaking prison?" Said spike.

"No. Of course I remember who I am,... Oh right… we haven’t introduced ourselves before?"

Guy tried to shake Spike's hand. He had no reason to refuse it, Spike got his hand right into his. "My name is Silver. Prisoners  #387"

"I'm spike..." Spike answered slightly in silence, trying to remember his prisoner number.

"Is remembering a prisoner number in this place an important matter? I'm starting to forget which number I have."

Silver let go of his hand. He then shook his head trying to answer the doubts that Spike had.

"Not really. You don't need to remember. I'm the only one who's familiar with my Prisoners number since the guards keep calling me with that number. I'd be happy to even call you by my name. I've even forgotten how someone calls my real name."

"How long have you been here? You look so experienced and so relaxed. I'm sure you're a strong, and genius person." Spike's reply with his assumptions.

"I've only been here 2 months. And in all that time, I've learned enough about this prison. I'm sure you've met Hudson, the fucking glasses guy. Let me tell you something, don't believe anything he says. Even Though he tried to threaten you"

Spike's interest in the information silver gave him was very interesting. He began to think Silver would be a valuable ally to him in the future.

"Why do you think lik-"

Before Spike continued his curiosity, Silver stopped Spike's pace. "We're in the canteen, do you have your id?"

The identity card is something Spike never thought he had before. He didn't know that something like that was in it. Spike looked through his clothes, and there was something in his trouser bag.

"Is this enough?" Spike gives Silver a plain white motive card.

"Yes... These are the identity cards”

Silver helped Spike swipe his card next to the canteen gate.

Spike came through the gate immediately.

But then, Silver fell silent and didn't come inside with him. The man was stunned as if he were seeing a ghost right now.

"Uhh… Silver. silver. Why are you still there? Come quickly..."

"Uh yes… Oh. sorry. I was a little surprised there..."

Silver's look was different than before. Spike himself is still confused by what's happening to Silver right now.

"Silver, are you okay? Are you sick right now?"

"Uhh… No forgive me…"

Silver's face turned pale, almost to the color of his own hair. Spike helped Silver stay upright even though his legs were limp now.

"Wait. However, you are prisoner #404… You should be dead by now. How is it that you're still alive?"
