5. Realizing where I am.

The stare into his palms was beginning to take longer than expected and it made Eric get scared as it was obvious that the seer could see something bad about his future and that happened to be the reason why he hated seers and fortune tellers.

His mind began to skip the most as despite his actions to tell the seer that it was enough, he still would to let go of his hands. Instead, he would even look more closely into it.

He finally got sick of this action, so he did not want the seer to continue with the stare, so he withdrew his hand. "What did you see?"

"Hmmm." He hummed. That was a sign to tell that his mouth was very heavy to say what he had seen. But the way all eyes were fixed on him, he had to speak up. "I am afraid to tell us that he does not have the hands of a swordsman. It bleeds my heart to say that it could be impossible for him to master the sword."

"Does that mean the prophecy was false?" Luca asked. He could not bear to hear that the prophecy was false because the news about Eric Claus being the man in the prophecy had put so much joy in his heart that he could not wait to see the monsters driven away from the lands to wherever they had come from.

"I did not say that. All I saw is that Eric is not a swordsman as the prophecy said and I did not see any chance of him handling the sword very well."

"So you are saying that I am going to die?" Eric wanted to know what the seer was insisting. He has already begun to fear death because he earnestly wanted to return home and leave their world for them.

The seer knew why he was asking that question, so he reminded him. "If you die here, you will also die in your world and wouldn't see your daughter again. So you have only one option, which is to survive and save us. Right now, your daughter is sitting beside you and she is praying that you wake up from what you call a coma."

It was now that he came to the realization that he was in a coma. All along he was thinking that he had vanished without a trace in his world. But the words about him not being able to handle a sword sounded strange to him and since he did not want to die in that place, he said with all determination of heart. "What would it cost me to learn how to handle a sword?"

"It would take you all that you've got?" Aaron said and they all liked the determination in him and wished he would continue with it.

Then the seer whispered the last thing he saw about him, and he referred directly to Eric. "You have magic in you, that is why you have healed extremely fast. It is an advantage on your side."

Only Harris, who was closest to Eric, heard this. The others only knew that he was told something but they did not know he was told.

Being wise the seer said in a louder tone to all their hearing, still referring to Eric. "Let's see how well you can master the sword." And that was the last thing he said before leaving them to decide who will teach him the use of the sword.

After he was gone out of the court, king Luca could not say anything again about training Eric on how to use the sword. The words of the seer have really demurred him. Even Aaron and Morgan were also short of words to say, every joy which they had died after hearing that he wouldn't be able to master the sword.

Meanwhile, Eric asked them to say something about his training, and since none was talking, he had to ask. "Who will be my master?" He had vowed in his heart to do whatever it takes to leave that world. After all, from all he had learnt, it appears to him that the world was created by him because he has to be the person who would defend the entire world from the monsters which was his initial plan for his game.

"Zachary will take care of that. He shall guide you on all you need to know about fighting." Luca answered him.

Zach was disappointed that despite his attempts to make Eric the responsibility of another person, King Luca would not still consent to it.

He wanted to still say something about this, but the King would not allow him, as he cut in, preventing him from saying a word. "Zachary, you are the only one I can trust with this responsibility. I know you are thinking of Aaron or Morgan to take this responsibility but they are very busy, the soldiers need someone to lead them against these orcs. Or would you prefer to lead the Putrid squad again?"

"I'll train him, your majesty." Zachary had to accept the responsibility given to him since it had gotten to the point of choosing an option.

After the discussion in the court, Zachary, Eric and Harris return to Hillcrest by horses which were given to them by the King so as to hasten their return home. So they did not have to spend another full day journeying home.

Zachary was still not happy with the responsibility of training Eric but what could he do? He was a patriot, so he had to contribute his own quarter in seeing that Palind was free from the attacks of those monsters and that part which he had to play was the part of teaching Eric who to fight. And all he needed to know about Palind.

Eric on his part, believed that the world was what he had designed for his game, and everything that had been happening so far was fifty percent in line with his game, so he had to start seeing things at though he was playing the game, and everything that was and yet to happen will only be a stage progression which he had to pass. So the idea of mastering the sword was recorded as the second stage since the first stage was discovering his purpose in that world.

But to succeed in fulfilling his supposed destiny, he had to get conversant with the world he found himself in, since everything wasn't entirely as he had planned the game. So he asked Zach to tell him about the world.

Being a former soldier, Zach literally knew everywhere, he even had a map of the world. So when he was asked about the place, he simply brought out the map and showed it to Eric to make his work simple.

On the morrow, Zachary brought out his weapons after twelve years of putting them out of sight. When he held his sword, the memories of war flashed back in his head, then he swung it left and right, trying to do the skills he used in fighting.

While he swung the sword, Harris, who had followed him into the room, asked. "Can I also learn how to use the sword?"

He was shocked to hear this question, as he turned around, he saw the zeal to learn in Harris' eyes, and then he thought of the advantage of teaching him. Since he had taken up that sword again, he knew that he would definitely return to the warfront again and Harris would need to learn how to fight so as to defend himself when the need arises. "Yes son, you can." Zach answered as he gave Harris the sword to feel its weight.

So he had two students who he thought how to use the sword.
