Stuck with a top class gamer

Hey Jamie

Today has been….uneventful….strange usually I woke up to screaming in the hallway or everyone eating in their rooms.

I walk down the stairs to the living room to see my mom still home.

…that explains it…..

"Hey dear." she waved at me with a smile.

"hey… " well this is awkward.

"Come on sit with your mom." great now she's trying to make a conversation quickly, make an excuse!

"I'd love to but I have to do uh…do something," I said inching up the stairs but my mom already knew what was happening.

"You don't want to spend time with your mother?" tears formed in her eyes.

Those were clearly crocodile tears but it didn't make me feel any less guilty.

I ended up sitting next to her…

Mission escape….failed.

Wait, I've said this before…

Anyway, I woke up to the casual noise in the halls just the way I like it.

Eli left early today to meet this guy he rarely mentions and it was just me, Gabriel, and Miku at the dinner table eating quietly whilst looking at our phones.

"Did you guys know what a mountain chicken is?"

Gabriel gave a random fact while we were eating.

"Like a really big chicken?" I asked

"No, apparently it's just a weird-looking frog." He kept eating like nothing ever happened.

"Huh-"

We all just kept eating after that.

[ 1pm_]

We all were just chilling in the living room watching tv. This was the most time we've spent together in a while even if Eli isn't here.

_knock_knock

We all heard someone knocking on the door and we were waiting until someone got up to open it but no one moved.

"Haru, open the door-" both Miku and Gabriel told me to.

I sighed and got up the one time they were on the same wavelength...

I opened the door to see one of the police officers from that one time.

"Oh hey, tom how's it going."

"Officer tom…" he corrected me

"We need you to help 'prove your innocence'."

Oh right, I kinda forgot we had to do that …

"What's with that look… you didn't forget did you?" Tom asked me.

Man, I've got to get a better poker face.

"No no, I just didn't expect it to be today.."

"Ok good so if you could call the others… we'll start moving now."

I nodded and looked back into the house.

"Oi Gabriel, Miku! Tom's calling us!" I shouted

"Officer Tom-"

I could hear the two of them groan as they got up to come to the door.

"So- …what are we doing about these?" I pointed to my foot to wear the thing that was strapped on to keep us from leaving.

He got on his knees to deactivate them and guided us to his police car.

Miku was excited to get out of the house after so long but I wasn't as excited and

Gabriel was just neutral sitting in between us. He looked about ready to fall asleep.

After that hellish ride, we finally stopped at the station where Tom and Jerry told us what we had to do exactly and explained to us that the only reason that we were doing this is to prove our innocence and catch the real thief.

We weren't in court right now because they filed the case as unsolved for the sake of our reputation and to give us a chance.

Which I'm pretty grateful for.

So to give you the rundown we have to go to a samsing store and check for any secret clubs both Tom and the rest of the police force suspected that place to be fake since they haven't seen a lot of customers for a while just the same shady characters.

We won't be getting weapons of course but we don't have to enter any confrontation either just get information using a speaker they gave us.

Since everything is kept on a down low here even the receiver Jamie hasn't disclosed his face oh yeah Jamie is the guy we're stepping in as.

Now for the worst part of this entire mission…we have to walk there sure that doesn't sound all too bad but you forget that three out of the three of us are gamers who don't exercise and probably walk often.

And one out of the three of us has no social life to even have the excuse to leave his dorm.

I'll leave that last part up to you.

We entered the building and immediately started to look for a secret entrance or something to enter through but so far we found nothing.

Pretty sure we wouldn't even find this place…well until one of the customers decided to go to the staff's washroom...

The three of us stared in disbelief. Are they even trying to keep this place a secret?

So anyway we followed them and the whole place was lit with RGB lights and glowsticks.

Games were being played left and right and people were making bets on who would win.

"Oh Oh! Haru!" Miku repeatedly shook me over and over until I finally responded.

"Yeah?"

 

"Do you feel like scamming people?" he said to me she couldn't contain her smile.

"Heck yeah, I do!"

She pulled me by the arm to where the bets were going on and Gab was following us for a good while until he saw the same guy from before walk into a room with curtains.

Being the only one focused on the mission he went inside in full-on stealth mode.

"Who are you…" Gabriel's heart sank upon hearing a voice behind him. When he turned around it was a tall man with black scruffy hair and brown eyes.

The man picked Gabriel up by the collar and stared him down.

"I'm here to collect the things you stole, that's what!" Gabriel got a sudden burst of ignorant courage.

The guy's face went from serious to happy.

"Oh, so your Jamie." He puts Gabriel down.

"I'm sorry about that man. come right this way."

The tall man led Gabriel to a guy sitting in a chair drinking beer and by the looks of it he had waaay more than the recommended amount.

He was a large guy with black hair though his eyes were covered by the futuristic glasses you normally see on cyborgs.

He turned his attention to Gabriel and he smiled.

"Ah…you must be Jamie."
