The appraisal was necessary to determine what level the heroes were. Naturally, they were expected to be on a low level since they had only just arrived. The most impressive rank for a hero to be during their first appraisal was the D rank. Heroes who got a D rank from the start were the ones who tend to reach great limits.
The appraisal is done to find the necessary information about each hero. Every human on the planet are descendants of the great primordial gods, and while most of them are never able to fully manifest it, every human was given an ability. An ability is basically a skill that we inherit from our past ancestors. The appraisal helps in finding out what it is, so the hero's training can be directed in that aspect. Skills however are abilities that a hero learns Every hero has the capacity to acquire six skills, seven if they have an ability they're born with. Additionally, their physical strength and intelligence are important as a hero can never fully grow if he or she is unable to learn or handle tough situations. Soul power was also very important because it determined how strong a hero's resolve would be. A hero with a weak soul power would never have the courage to reach their full potential. Magicule restraints was basically the amount of magicules a hero can withstand. Skills are the direct crystallization of magicules and they permanently take up space inside the body of the user. So the higher the soul power, the more space there is for a hero to reach and possibly surpass their limits. Feats are referred to as the accomplishment a hero has, be it saving people from danger or vanquishing monsters. The rank of a hero was basically a grade to label how good he or she was. The lowest rank was the F, while the highest was the S. But on some occasions, a hero would surpass the expectations of the world, reaching up to a level that was more than impressive. Attaining strength and skills that were deemed almost impossible, those heroes became the SS rank. Bloodline was basically the god in which a hero descended from. As mentioned earlier, every living human was connected to the primordial gods…or the dark one. Never had one person been in between or without a link to either. Until now. Miyano stared at Minato, unable to shake off the feeling that he was more than just an Unwanted. Or maybe that was just what he wanted to believe. Kaito's mean comment suggested that they must have known each other back in the normal world, and they weren't friends. Miyano wanted to go to Minato, to comfort him and tell him that he could always grow stronger, but his feet refused to move. Instead he stood there, his eyes glued to Minato's figure. The latter found his gaze and both of them watched each other. A few seconds later, Miyano noticed a change in his expression, it went from being upset to looking more determined. Maybe he didn't have to say anything to him after all. Bato dono told them the basics of their training and to Miyano's surprise, it wasn't far off from the normal exercise he was used to. "Before building up your strength, you must unlock and master your chi." He had said. In his words, chi was the circulating life force of a human. A vital energy or life force that flowed through all living things, governing the physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Hero or not everyone had chi inside them, what separated a hero from a regular person was the ability to fully unlock and master it. Unlocking one's chi had various benefits as it helped in improving the health and strength of an individual. It also increased the flow of one's chakra. Chakra was the seven major energy points governing various aspects of human consciousness. Basically, chakra is the flow of chi to the seven main points of a human body. The first training was something called tai chi, what they did was just simple exercises and breathing techniques. Bato dono said unlocking their chakras would help increase their soul power and magicules restraints. The first was the crown chakra, located in the crown of the head and its purpose was to increase a person's knowledge and spirituality. Once a person unlocked it, they would emit a violent fire like aura. The second was the third eye chakra. It was located between the eyebrows and its purpose was to enhance a person's ability to think and understand. Once unlocked, an indigo aura would appear. The third was the throat chakra located at the base of the throat, it improved the person's communication ability. Expressing one's self becomes more natural and mature. Once unlocked, a light blue aura would be emitted. The fourth, the heart chakra located in the chest region and its purpose was to increase the person's kindness and humanity. A green flame like aura would appear once it had been unlocked. The fifth, the solar pexus located at the bottom of the rib cage, and its purpose was to increase one's pride and confidence in themselves, boosting their self esteem. Once unlocked, an aura of bright yellow mixed with a bit of brown would appear. The sixth was the sacral chakra, it was located below the navel and its purpose was to increase a person's cleverness and imagination. Such individuals wouldn't be affected by any sexual plots against them. Once unlocked, an orange aura would be seen. The seventh and last was the root chakra, located at the base of the spine. The purpose is to increase the durability of an individual during battle. Once unlocked, an aura of bright red flame would appear. The first person to unlock the chi was the same person who had automatically become Miyano's enemy, kaito. "Most impressive kaito sama. It pleases me to see that this generation of heroes are surpassing our expectations quite easily." Kaito grinned at the old man's compliment and threw a challenging glance at his direction. 'So he was one of those kinds who were super competitive over everything?' And since they were both fighting for the top spot, he would want to focus his attention on him. Well too bad, he had other things in mind. With only a few more hours in their training, another aura burst out, even more bright than Kaito's. Everyone paused and stared at the person leaking out sweat as he did push ups, completely oblivious that he had become a subject of interest for the heroes in training. "Mi…nato?"As he pushed his body upwards, the muscles in his shoulders and back would bulge, showing a masculine side of him that Miyano had not seen before. 'Oh wow, I never knew Minato kun was so ripped. I wonder how it would feel like to have those strong arms around me.'Miyano's face turned red and he found himself looking away out of embarrassment for thinking about something like that. Remembering his reason for staring in the first place, he called out his name, his shock coming back. "Mi…nato?"His voice came out softer than he had intended and Minato who was a few feet away from him couldn't hear his voice. "...99, 100!" He laid on the ground, panting hard when he suddenly noticed that the others were watching him. "Uh is something wrong?" He sat up, and after getting a view of his legs, Minato finally understood what had happened. "I unlocked one!" He said with excitement. "It appears so." Bato dono was just as surprised as the others were but his hatred for Minato prevented him fr
Bato dono said the day would always start with an appraisal, and since Kaito was the one who unlocked the most chakras, he would be appraised first. Name…. Yamaguchi Kaito.Ability…. Aura.Skill…. Fear glued Minato to the ground, sweat dripping down his face. The worm was huge, probably reaching up to 10 feet in length. It looked like a regular earth worm but with a hideously scary face. 'Fuck! What do I do? It's obviously impossible for me to try and out run this thing. Even with my sharp reflexes, I don't stand a chance against this monster.'Minato didn't know what to do, his heart beat kept increasing and he felt like he was going to meet his end. 'Am I really going to die this way? What about Miyano San? How is he doing?'Minato had made a promise to become stronger because he wanted to live up to his expectations, but it was also because he wanted to be able to protect him. He had not known Miyano for a long time but he felt really attached to him. He wanted to get closer to him, to get to know him better, to become an important part of his life. But he couldn't do all that if he died just like that. 'No! Even if I don't have a chance, I'm still going to try!'He turne
"Minato Chan! Minato chan!!""Would you stop yelling already?! Can't you see he's not here?""Then where the hell is he?!!"Miyano hadn't been able to concentrate on their training at all since they were teleported. He was sure Minato was standing next to him back at the training grounds, so where the hell was he?"Minato Chan!!'"Would you stop that already?!! You're really getting on my nerves." "Well I apologize if my voice is bothering you but I am trying to find my friend.""Your friend? What the hell do you know about Minato? He and I have known each other for years! And yet after just a couple of days you're acting like he means the world to you.""Maybe that's because he does! Now if you're not going to help me look for him, mind your fucking business and just go back to killing your stupid monsters."In secret, Kaito was worried for Minato as well, but that was an emotion he would never show to him or anyone else. It wasn't like him to just wander off, and even if he did, he
The figure was clothed in a dark hooded cloak that looked like it was worn out. Its facial features were hardly noticable, except for its mouth that was filled with long sharp teeth and white empty eyes that seemed to bring out fear in its prey. Minato didn't know what to do, he thought about running away but two things stopped him from doing so;One, when he was in danger, ijichi San had swooped in to save his life, even though he had no idea who he was. Leaving him alone when he was hurt gravely was a cowardly and traitorous move. Two, even if he made up his mind to abandon him, it would be impossible to out run their attacker. Minato didn't know much about the new world but judging by the way he was dressed, he guessed that it might have been a demon. And be it in a game or a movie, demons were always difficult to beat. His lack of skill and combat abilities was also a huge problem, even in his world, the weak was always bullied by the strong, and after spending just a few days
Miyano had been pacing around for the past ten minutes and the anxiety in his body kept growing and growing. They had wrapped up their training half an hour ago and to his horror, Minato was nowhere to be found. He had tried asking Bato dono about it but the old man waved off his concerns saying they were other important matters that needed his attention. After a while he gathered the heroes at the training grounds for a supposed important announcement. Ten minutes had passed and they were still waiting. The fact that Minato wasn't anywhere in sight made him even more worried. "I apologize to have kept you all waiting for so long. I had to discuss briefly with the council to decide on what to do. Miyano Sama, you asked me earlier about that Unwanted an why he wasn't at the training with you. Well the truth is, the previous Unwanted have been said to sabotage the heroes during training, doing everything to make them fail. So for you safety, I made the decision to keep him here. No
Minato jolted awake covered in sweat. He was panting hard and his heart wouldn't stop pounding in his chest. Quickly scanning his surrounding, Minato was somewhat relieved to see that he wasn't in that dark empty room anymore, though he still had no idea where he was. "What happened? How did I get here?" He asked no one in particular, running his hands through his hair as he sat up. The last thing he could member was pain, excruciating pain. The door opened gently and a guy walked in. He had long brown hair that was let down to rest on his shoulders. The droplets of water on his bare chest and shoulder indicted that he had just showered. His chiseled jaw and stubble beard gave him a mature, manly look. When he saw Minato, his expression softened and he smiled at him. "Minato kun, you're finally awake!" His voice sounded relieved and also happy as he said hat. He grabbed a stool that was by the door and sat next to him. "Tell me, how do you feel? We did everything we could to neut
"How is he now? Better?""If you are asking about the poison, well I am not sure what to tell you.""And what does that mean? Is he okay gran?"Minato smiled at Ijichi, he was always so concerned about him. It had been a whole week since he woke up and he still didn't remember anything. "The poison is still within him but it doesn't seem to be causing him any harm. It exists within his system, not mixing with the rest of him, but just existing on its own. We just have to keep watching him closely to see if anything happens.""And what about my memory?""In all honesty, I'm not entirely sure what is causing your memory blockage. But I do have a few guesses. It could be the poison from the demon's dagger. According to Ijichi, you were supposed to be dead. You being alive is a miracle that even I don't understand yet. Then also, this could be self inflicted.""What?""Yes. Sometimes when the body finds out something truly shocking, it becomes too much for it to handle and it wants to
