"Wow! You must be a prodigy! How can one's stats go up this much in just a day? Most impressive Miyano Sama." Bato dono couldn't hide his shock at the huge differences between his stats after just a day of training.

Minato was impressed at Miyano's progress. Half of him felt slightly jealous that he was so much stronger than him, but the greater half was happy to see that the person he admired and looked up to was progressing. It made him want to try even harder.

"Congratulations Miyano San. Maybe you really are a prodigy."

The latter smiled and ruffled his hair. "I'm rooting for you too, we have to get stronger together. Okay?"

"Sure!"

The anger on kaito's face was unmasked as he glared at Miyano. He hated the fact that he was better than him, and what annoyed him more was the fact that Minato was always around him.

They didn't even know each other in their own world so why the hell were they acting like they were best friends?

The next person that was appraised was the mean girl from the night before.

"Very nice, Aimi Sama. I can see that you have great potential, just keep doing your best."

"Thank you for your advice, Bato dono." She gave a bow of respect and it earned her a smile from the old man.

He went on with the rest of the appraisal and Minato was impressed but also saddened at the same time to see that everyone was doing well. Among the seven heroes, Kaito and Miyano were the ones with the highest numbers, but Miyano was the only one in B rank.

Kaito and two others were in C rank, two people were in D rank, while he and Aiko were left in rank F. Minato had not been appraised yet but he could tell that he hadn't made any significant improvement.

"I think it's safe to say that nothing would have changed since yesterday, so I'm just going to skip your appraisal." Bato dono said, walking away from Minato.

"But that's unfair!"

"Why would I waste precious time checking something I already know? The real heroes need to start their training and I don't need you slowing them down."

"But–"

"Just shut it loser!" Kaito barked. "Your whining is really annoying to listen to."

Minato gritted his teeth, anger filling his body. He wasn't even going to give him a chance. How was he supposed to know if he was improving if he won't even give him an appraisal?

"Why won't you just do it?"

Minato looked up when he heard Miyano's cool voice.

"Minato chan is doing his best just like the rest of us, and it's not like the appraisal takes time. I mean, if you had done it, we would have began our training by now."

"But Miyano Sama –"

"I'm not going to do anything unless Minato chan is doing it with me. You see, he's my source of inspiration and I just don't think I'll get any stranger if I don't have him by my side."

Bato dono swallowed hard, it would be foolish to offend a hero that was as powerful as Miyano was. Defeating the overlord was a demanding task and they needed people like him on their side.

"Hmm very well. I will appraise him."

Name…. Fujimura Minato.

Ability…. None.

Skill…. None.

Strength…. 100.

Intellect…. 130.

Rank…. F.

Soul Power…. 120.

Magicule Restraints…. 100.

Feat…. Zero.

Bloodline…. Unknown.

Chakra… Heart, Root.

While the progress wasn't as impressive as the others, Minato was glad to be moving forward.

"I see you unlocked another chakra." Miyano pointed out as he moved to stand next to him. "Did you even get any sleep last night?"

"I did, I just did a bit of training before I did."

"You're the first person to unlock the heart chakra, that means you're special."

Minato didn't know why but hearing Miyano call him special made him feel warm on the inside. He knew he was probably just saying that to make him feel better but it touched his heart. It made him feel like he might actually be special.

After a brief work out session, Bato dono announced that they were leaving the training grounds.

"To acquire skills, you'll need more than tai chi and exercise. Heroes tend to learn faster when faced with real threat, and that is what we will be doing today."

He said they would take them to an open field that was infested with monsters. He told them that they were all low ranked monsters that should be easy to kill, but it would be an avenue for them to learn.

"There are different kinds of skills and each of them are acquired in different ways, but most of them are connected to combat." He explained.

After giving the heroes temporary armor and weapons, they were all teleported to a field. It looked like a desert but there were few trees and streams.

As he had expected, Minato wasn't given any weapon or armor so he had armed himself with two table knives.

Bato dono didn't tell them what kind of monsters to expect, only saying that they were weak so Minato had no idea how to prepare. He decided to try to find one of the others, since he knew he couldn't do any damage on his own.

He had barely walked ten feet when a strange looking worm came out of the ground and was heading right for him.
