Bato dono said the day would always start with an appraisal, and since Kaito was the one who unlocked the most chakras, he would be appraised first.
Name…. Yamaguchi Kaito. Ability…. Aura. Skill…. None. Strength…. 128. Intellect…. 112. Rank…. C. Soul Power…. 200. Magicule Restraints…. 200. Feat…. Zero. Bloodline…. Primordial 01, god of fire. Chakra…. Throat, Solar pexus, Sacral, Root. "I am very pleased at your results Kaito Sama, I knew I senses greatness within you." The compliment earned a grin from Kaito and he shot a glance at Miyano. "Hmph! Let's see you top that." Name…. Ichimura Miyano. Ability…. Fury. Skill…. None. Strength…. 140. Intellect…. 150. Rank…. B. Soul power…. 300. Magicule Restraints…. 250. Feat…. Zero. Bloodline…. Primordial 07, god of war. Chakra…. Third eye, Throat, Sacral. "Wow! You must be a prodigy! How can one's stats go up this much in just a day? Most impressive Miyano Sama." Bato dono couldn't hide his shock at the huge differences between his stats after just a day of training. Minato was impressed at Miyano's progress. Half of him felt slightly jealous that he was so much stronger than him, but the greater half was happy to see that the person he admired and looked up to was progressing. It made him want to try even harder. "Congratulations Miyano San. Maybe you really are a prodigy." The latter smiled and ruffled his hair. "I'm rooting for you too, we have to get stronger together. Okay?" "Sure!" The anger on kaito's face was unmasked as he glared at Miyano. He hated the fact that he was better than him, and what annoyed him more was the fact that Minato was always around him. They didn't even know each other in their own world so why the hell were they acting like they were best friends? The next person that was appraised was the mean girl from the night before. Name…. Suzuki Aimi. Ability…. Invisibility. Skill…. None. Strength…. 120. Intellect…. 125. Rank…. C. Soul power…. 180. Magicule Restraints…. 200. Feat…. Zero. Bloodline…. Primordial 06, goddess of the sea. Chakra…. Throat, Solar pexus. "Very nice, Aimi Sama. I can see that you have great potential, just keep doing your best." "Thank you for your advice, Bato dono." She gave a bow of respect and it earned her a smile from the old man. He went on with the rest of the appraisal and Minato was impressed but also saddened at the same time to see that everyone was doing well. Among the seven heroes, Kaito and Miyano were the ones with the highest numbers, but Miyano was the only one in B rank. Kaito and two others were in C rank, two people were in D rank, while he and Aiko were left in rank F. Minato had not been appraised yet but he could tell that he hadn't made any significant improvement. "I think it's safe to say that nothing would have changed since yesterday, so I'm just going to skip your appraisal." Bato dono said, walking away from Minato. "But that's unfair!" "Why would I waste precious time checking something I already know? The real heroes need to start their training and I don't need you slowing them down." "But–" "Just shut it loser!" Kaito barked. "Your whining is really annoying to listen to." Minato gritted his teeth, anger filling his body. He wasn't even going to give him a chance. How was he supposed to know if he was improving if he won't even give him an appraisal? "Why won't you just do it?" Minato looked up when he heard Miyano's cool voice. "Minato chan is doing his best just like the rest of us, and it's not like the appraisal takes time. I mean, if you had done it, we would have began our training by now." "But Miyano Sama –" "I'm not going to do anything unless Minato chan is doing it with me. You see, he's my source of inspiration and I just don't think I'll get any stranger if I don't have him by my side." Bato dono swallowed hard, it would be foolish to offend a hero that was as powerful as Miyano was. Defeating the overlord was a demanding task and they needed people like him on their side. "Hmm very well. I will appraise him." Name…. Fujimura Minato. Ability…. None. Skill…. None. Strength…. 100. Intellect…. 130. Rank…. F. Soul Power…. 120. Magicule Restraints…. 100. Feat…. Zero. Bloodline…. Unknown. Chakra… Heart, Root. While the progress wasn't as impressive as the others, Minato was glad to be moving forward. "I see you unlocked another chakra." Miyano pointed out as he moved to stand next to him. "Did you even get any sleep last night?" "I did, I just did a bit of training before I did." "You're the first person to unlock the heart chakra, that means you're special." Minato didn't know why but hearing Miyano call him special made him feel warm on the inside. He knew he was probably just saying that to make him feel better but it touched his heart. It made him feel like he might actually be special. After a brief work out session, Bato dono announced that they were leaving the training grounds. "To acquire skills, you'll need more than tai chi and exercise. Heroes tend to learn faster when faced with real threat, and that is what we will be doing today." He said they would take them to an open field that was infested with monsters. He told them that they were all low ranked monsters that should be easy to kill, but it would be an avenue for them to learn. "There are different kinds of skills and each of them are acquired in different ways, but most of them are connected to combat." He explained. After giving the heroes temporary armor and weapons, they were all teleported to a field. It looked like a desert but there were few trees and streams. As he had expected, Minato wasn't given any weapon or armor so he had armed himself with two table knives. Bato dono didn't tell them what kind of monsters to expect, only saying that they were weak so Minato had no idea how to prepare. He decided to try to find one of the others, since he knew he couldn't do any damage on his own. He had barely walked ten feet when a strange looking worm came out of the ground and was heading right for him.Fear glued Minato to the ground, sweat dripping down his face. The worm was huge, probably reaching up to 10 feet in length. It looked like a regular earth worm but with a hideously scary face. 'Fuck! What do I do? It's obviously impossible for me to try and out run this thing. Even with my sharp reflexes, I don't stand a chance against this monster.'Minato didn't know what to do, his heart beat kept increasing and he felt like he was going to meet his end. 'Am I really going to die this way? What about Miyano San? How is he doing?'Minato had made a promise to become stronger because he wanted to live up to his expectations, but it was also because he wanted to be able to protect him. He had not known Miyano for a long time but he felt really attached to him. He wanted to get closer to him, to get to know him better, to become an important part of his life. But he couldn't do all that if he died just like that. 'No! Even if I don't have a chance, I'm still going to try!'He turne
"Minato Chan! Minato chan!!""Would you stop yelling already?! Can't you see he's not here?""Then where the hell is he?!!"Miyano hadn't been able to concentrate on their training at all since they were teleported. He was sure Minato was standing next to him back at the training grounds, so where the hell was he?"Minato Chan!!'"Would you stop that already?!! You're really getting on my nerves." "Well I apologize if my voice is bothering you but I am trying to find my friend.""Your friend? What the hell do you know about Minato? He and I have known each other for years! And yet after just a couple of days you're acting like he means the world to you.""Maybe that's because he does! Now if you're not going to help me look for him, mind your fucking business and just go back to killing your stupid monsters."In secret, Kaito was worried for Minato as well, but that was an emotion he would never show to him or anyone else. It wasn't like him to just wander off, and even if he did, he
The figure was clothed in a dark hooded cloak that looked like it was worn out. Its facial features were hardly noticable, except for its mouth that was filled with long sharp teeth and white empty eyes that seemed to bring out fear in its prey. Minato didn't know what to do, he thought about running away but two things stopped him from doing so;One, when he was in danger, ijichi San had swooped in to save his life, even though he had no idea who he was. Leaving him alone when he was hurt gravely was a cowardly and traitorous move. Two, even if he made up his mind to abandon him, it would be impossible to out run their attacker. Minato didn't know much about the new world but judging by the way he was dressed, he guessed that it might have been a demon. And be it in a game or a movie, demons were always difficult to beat. His lack of skill and combat abilities was also a huge problem, even in his world, the weak was always bullied by the strong, and after spending just a few days
Miyano had been pacing around for the past ten minutes and the anxiety in his body kept growing and growing. They had wrapped up their training half an hour ago and to his horror, Minato was nowhere to be found. He had tried asking Bato dono about it but the old man waved off his concerns saying they were other important matters that needed his attention. After a while he gathered the heroes at the training grounds for a supposed important announcement. Ten minutes had passed and they were still waiting. The fact that Minato wasn't anywhere in sight made him even more worried. "I apologize to have kept you all waiting for so long. I had to discuss briefly with the council to decide on what to do. Miyano Sama, you asked me earlier about that Unwanted an why he wasn't at the training with you. Well the truth is, the previous Unwanted have been said to sabotage the heroes during training, doing everything to make them fail. So for you safety, I made the decision to keep him here. No
Minato jolted awake covered in sweat. He was panting hard and his heart wouldn't stop pounding in his chest. Quickly scanning his surrounding, Minato was somewhat relieved to see that he wasn't in that dark empty room anymore, though he still had no idea where he was. "What happened? How did I get here?" He asked no one in particular, running his hands through his hair as he sat up. The last thing he could member was pain, excruciating pain. The door opened gently and a guy walked in. He had long brown hair that was let down to rest on his shoulders. The droplets of water on his bare chest and shoulder indicted that he had just showered. His chiseled jaw and stubble beard gave him a mature, manly look. When he saw Minato, his expression softened and he smiled at him. "Minato kun, you're finally awake!" His voice sounded relieved and also happy as he said hat. He grabbed a stool that was by the door and sat next to him. "Tell me, how do you feel? We did everything we could to neut
"How is he now? Better?""If you are asking about the poison, well I am not sure what to tell you.""And what does that mean? Is he okay gran?"Minato smiled at Ijichi, he was always so concerned about him. It had been a whole week since he woke up and he still didn't remember anything. "The poison is still within him but it doesn't seem to be causing him any harm. It exists within his system, not mixing with the rest of him, but just existing on its own. We just have to keep watching him closely to see if anything happens.""And what about my memory?""In all honesty, I'm not entirely sure what is causing your memory blockage. But I do have a few guesses. It could be the poison from the demon's dagger. According to Ijichi, you were supposed to be dead. You being alive is a miracle that even I don't understand yet. Then also, this could be self inflicted.""What?""Yes. Sometimes when the body finds out something truly shocking, it becomes too much for it to handle and it wants to
Early the next morning, Miyano, along with three of his party members headed out for the restaurant. "Is she here yet?" He asked as they got there."No."After waiting for about twenty minutes, a lady in a hood walked in. "Nana San, good morning." She said as she sat by the counter. "Mitsuri San, morning."Upon hearing her name, Miyano approached the hooded lady at the counter. "Good morning." He said as he sat next to her. She looked up at him and for a moment, it felt like she couldn't stop staring. He had black silky hair that fell freely on his shoulders and his eyes….it felt like she had never seen eyes so beautiful in her life. "G-good morning." She swallowed hard, suddenly feeling nervous. Mitsuri was never one to talk to people, but she found herself thinking of what to say to the handsome stranger. "Uh I–""My name is Miyano, I'm one of the seven heroes." He noticed a slight frown on her face after his introduction. "I need to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind."
"Fujimura Kun! where the hell are you going this time?""For a walk, I need to clear my head.""What's there to clear when there's nothing there?" He mocked. "Just make sure you're back in time for supper, or you'll have yourself to blame." "Yes, Yamaguchi Sama."Fujimura Minato was an orphan, he didn't know how his parents died, or if they were even still alive. He grew up in the community home for children but he was framed for committing an offense he didn't, he got kicked out. Ever since, he had been struggling to make a life for himself. "Fujimura Kun, are you leaving the mansion?""Yes, Fumiko San.""Just a minute." The older woman walked back into her little room, returning a few seconds later with a single cupcake. "Happy birthday. I know it isn't much, but it's all I have.""Thank you very much." Minato accepted the treat with an eager smile. "It means a lot to me.""Aw, that's good to hear. Well I'm headed off to rest, an old woman like me needs to sleep a lot.""Rest well
