Chapter 9: Money Falling from the Sky

Evan, seeing these messages from various female streamers, could only scoff. He didn't bother to reply—sending even a single period seemed a waste.

He continued his onslaught of Super Rockets, unabashedly slapping the faces of the trolls and Fortune Baron himself!

"4022!"

"4023!"

"..."

Ninety minutes had passed, and his gifting marathon hadn't paused for a second.

Ava's stream was abuzz like never before, as the entirety of YouClub's audience and even those from other platforms converged there, all eager to catch a glimpse of this super tycoon and the beauty he was showering with riches.

And during this spectacle, as Evan continued his cool, methodical gifting, the headquarters of YouClub was anything but composed.

"Manager Kennedy, please proceed with signing a contract with this broadcaster named Ava immediately!"

In a modest twenty-square-meter office, seven YouClub employees—four women and three men—pleaded with the middle-aged man seated regally in the office chair.

"All of you are interceding on her behalf?"

The middle-aged man gave a wry smile, his voice tinged with helplessness. "I wish I could sign her up. A cash cow like this, who wouldn't want to hold on to it? But the company executives have issued orders—I dare not disobey!"

"The company executives?"

A fair-skinned girl stepped forward from the seven staffers, adjusting her black-rimmed glasses as she spoke candidly, "Manager Kennedy, I've thoroughly investigated this broadcaster's background. As far as I know, she has offended someone in the entertainment industry, not our live streaming circle. So, it should be possible for us to sign her!"

"Yes, we can sign her! The entertainment industry will need to rely on our streaming platforms for growth in the future, so even if we sign her, the fallout won't be significant," the other six employees stepped forward in solidarity with the fair-skinned girl, their stance resolute.

"This is..."

Manager Kennedy massaged the back of his head, clearly troubled. "I'm just a manager. How can I go against the commands of the company executives? You're putting me in a tough spot here..."

After exchanging looks with the others, the girl continued, "If the executives blame anyone, you can say we signed her without your knowledge. If they probe further, we seven are prepared to resign!"

"Are you using resignation to threaten me?" Manager Kennedy's gaze was fixed on the fair-skinned girl.

"No, not at all!"

She stood her ground fearlessly, "We're considering the company's best interests. This broadcaster earned over eight million dollars in donations in just an hour and a half, and the donations continue to flow. Surely, that's something other broadcasters can't achieve in a year."

"Right! You've signed streamers who make just a few thousand dollars a year, yet this one has made eight million in just over an hour. Why not sign her? Moreover, she's drawn traffic from our competitors to YouClub—a valuable contribution."

The others chimed in supportively, "Signing her may not be as detrimental to the company as you think. On the contrary, the benefits are immense. If she re-enters the entertainment industry and becomes a star, won't that bring massive advantages to YouClub?"

"Hmm."

Manager Kennedy pondered in his chair for a long while before slowly standing up, exhaling deeply, "Alright, if she receives donations of a hundred thousand dollars tomorrow, I will sign her."

"Alright then."

The seven employees, though discontented, found no other recourse as Manager Kennedy refused to budge. Fortunately, he had relented significantly; whether they could sign Ava depended on whether she would receive donations tomorrow.

Evan was blissfully unaware of the scene that had just unfolded at YouClub's headquarters. At this very moment, he was still merrily unleashing a barrage of gifts.

"5583!"

"5584!"

"..."

Ava's stream had reached ten million viewers, causing the viewership in other YouClub broadcasters' streams to plummet to nearly zero. Moreover, other streaming platforms were experiencing a significant drop in traffic due to her stream's pull.

"Has this guy lost his mind? He's donated over ten million dollars to a single broadcaster!"

"You know nothing of the world of the wealthy!"

"Exactly, the world of the affluent is beyond our understanding. Poverty has blinded us. Plus, I think I saw YouClub's number one tycoon, 'Fortune Baron,' just now trying to compete with Wealthy Smith in gifting. Seems like he has run away!"

Evan felt no pity for the rival he had effortlessly crushed. Watching the chat roll by, a disdainful smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

As he was about to break past six thousand Super Rockets, Ava snapped out of her daze and implored, "Wealthy Smith, please stop donating! I'll close the stream if you continue. You've already given nearly twelve million dollars. Your money was hard-earned; keep it for yourself!"

This girl, always so considerate of others!

Hearing her plea, Evan couldn't help but shake his head. His left hand continued to gift Super Rockets, while his right hand typed on the phone, "It's okay, let's add a hundred more to make it six thousand!"

The entire audience was astounded!

Six thousand? How could someone afford such extravagance? It was utterly insane!

The few hundred trolls in the stream of ten million viewers could no longer stir up trouble. They had started to retreat, fading without a trace.

"Stream Closed."

Just as Evan was ten Super Rockets short of reaching six thousand, a notification popped up on his screen—Ava had closed her stream.

At the same time, the Super Rich System announced in his mind, "Two hours have elapsed. Mission complete. Total expenditure: 11.98 million dollars. Reward for mission completion: one Super Rich Coin, one chance to draw."

That was it?

"Fuck! I wasn't even done enjoying the unlimited funds."

While Evan grumbled about the Super Rich System, he exited Ava's stream, about to check his balance in the 'Loser’s Funds' section of the system panel. That's when his sister Bella's call came through.

" Evan, did you just create an account to follow Ava?"

Bella was unusually excited, "Someone named 'Wealthy Smith' just donated over ten million dollars to Ava. Wow, now she has the funds to visit the children in the mountains."

Evan chuckled, "Wealthy Smith? Is he rich? Is he handsome?"

Bella replied, "I don't know about handsome, but his generosity towards Ava is real. I just don't get where his money comes from. Does it fall from the sky?"

Evan laughed, "Maybe, just maybe, his money really does fall from the sky."
