With his eyes fluttering open, Nux woke up to the sound of water pouring, and the sound of a clothing being squeezed.
He looked to his side and saw the delicate, smooth and unblemished hands of a woman move to his head. He tried to resist, but he was too weak to even lift a finger. He felt numb, and cold too. Soon, he felt the clothing rest on his head, a warm feeling washed over him, he felt his eyes clearing and feeling return to his body slowly, then he began to feel his fingers twitching. He opened his eyes finally to see a hand resting on his head and releasing a warm green glow, the hand obscured the person's face, but he could make out the details of a feminine figure. The hands resting on his head had two bead jewelries on them. He saw the clean off-white silk clothing worn by the woman and tied by the waist with a beautiful root like rope. At the neck, the cloth was parted to reveal large cleavages that he definitely knew were as soft as marshmallows. The parted area of the dress was beautifully designed with what looked like a myriad of colourful threads, but mostly green . The ladies slim waist perfectly fit the clothing, drawing him in and making him just want to grab her by the waist. Nux resisted his urges and tilted his head slightly to get a look at the woman's face. A pair of hazel eyes graced him with their beauty, auburn hair that was packed into a ponytail with the same root like rope used to tie it. Her smooth face was captivating, she had perfect bow shaped rosy red lips, thin eyebrows and an oval shaped face that accommodated all this features. Nux opened his mouth to speak but was stopped by the woman's gentle and sonorous voice. "Easy there young one, don't move too much or make any sudden movements, it might cause a permanent backlash." Her voice rang out in Nux's ears. Nux felt as if he had been entranced and listened to her intently. It just felt okay to do as she said. The lady stood up from the stool and placed her hands to the side. Green particles of energy were expelled from the outstretched hand and took the shape of a book. The book was about fifteen inches in length, as thick as his world's history books and was ten inches wide. It was releasing a green wave of energy around it that seemed to fill the air itself with energy. She spoke some word silently, the book flipped open and stopped at a page, she gestured towards the pale of water and the clothing she had used on him, and they both turned into showers of sparks and streaked into the books page before it closed shut, and disappeared in the same green particles it was formed from. Nux stared in awe at the marvelous sight, it wasn't everyday that you see an awakened make use of their abiities. Nux felt his trance break as the book disappeared, but he still didn't move from the bed, he didn't know what to do, should he ask the woman who she was? He had the right to know. Right? Where was he? What happened to the gauntlet? Was it taken away by someone? Did he die and reincarnate in another world again? Seeing his confused look, the woman took it up on herself to clear his doubts. "My name is Moraya Fildow, a healer of the Sacred Life Guild." Moraya said with a slight bow. "Sir Nicole, my contractor, tasked me with treating your injuries when he brought you to his abode some hours ago. He is currently in the living room awaiting you. Do you mind if I escort you there?" 'Sir Nicole, isn't that our rich neighbor who's a member of some guild, so he was the one who saved me, I though I had actually died again.' Nux thought before furrowing his brows. He stared at her a little warily, he couldn't just trust anyone yet, how sure was he that she spoke the truth? However he immediately threw those thoughts out of his mind and slipped his legs out of the sheets covering him. 'She could have harmed me earlier if she wanted to.' As he was about to get up from the bed, he felt a cold breeze from the open window caress his skin. He looked down and saw his thingy that was about to be revealed through the sheets, he paled. Quickly, he pulled them back and sat down. "Umm... I'll need a clothing if I want to leave this place." With a red face, he asked. "I can't be walking around naked." The lady realizing this, got a little red in the face too, but she replaced that look with a poker face immediately and turned around. She left the room and returned with a set of clothing, it consisted of a pair of blue trousers, a white silk shirt and a pair of slippers. The lady gave him some privacy and he quickly got dressed, he stepped out of the congested room and met the lady waiting patiently, and without further ado, they began to walk through the hallway. Nux got lost in his own world and was staring around like a country bumpkin. The walls were lined with stones that illuminated everywhere, the stones bright yellow and white colour created a beautiful image, highlighting the reflecting walls that were as smooth as glass. There wasn't anything like a carpet or tile on the floor, it was just beautified with what looked like marbles and pearls which reflected the stones light, and illuminated areas that the light didn't get to. Nux found themselves nearing a door, he pulled himself together and tried to act normal, he didn't want Mr Nicole to notice any difference in him. As they got to the door, Moraya pulled it open and gestured for him to follow. Nux moved without any objections. Moraya walked into the spacious living room and found a sofa to seat on. She helped herself to some tea and began to sip it gently. To the side, Nux noticed a middle aged man staring at a brown book that released a dreadful aura. Mr Nicole waved a hand and recalled the book, turning to Nux with a bright smile on his face. "Nux, how are you feeling?""Nux, how are you feeling?" Mr Nicole asked with a smile on his face. Mr Nicole had tiny, almost unseeable wrinkles at the sides of his eyes, a beard that circled around his mouth and aligned with his side hair, brown hair that was short and combed smoothly, a pair of thick glasses, and had by his side, a cane. Nux couldn't see how tall he was because he was seated, but from the bodies memories, Mr Nicole was a tall man with ripped muscles. "I feel better." Nux replied, before his facial expression changed to one of overwhelming sadness. "Although, I don't think I'm okay, mentally."Mr Nicole sighed. "Come take a seat." Nux did as told and sat down on a soft chair situated opposite Miss Moraya."Do you want to talk about it?" Mr Nicole asked calmly. Nux replied by shaking his head lightly, still with the sad smile. "Tea?" An outstretched arm entered his view. Nux looked up and saw Miss Moraya with a cup of tea stretched to him, he smiled and accepted it.Nux took whiff of the tea a
Inside a carriage moving steadily through a steep mountainside, Nux sat inside, meditating under the strict gaze of Mr Nicole. They –Mr Nicole and Miss Moraya– had agreed to take him to the capital to awaken his Beast Soul. Nux had rejected at first, wanting to see his mother first and foremost, but unfortunately, she was far away. If he were to travel to where she was, it would take him days just to get there, then another few days to come back, and by the time he returned, the program for the Beast Soul awakening would be over and he would have to wait till the next year. Mr Nicole wasn't having any of his tantrums, so he had literally whooped his ass, then shoved him in the carriage to begin his journey to the capital.Though nux was infuriated, there was nothing he could do about it, it was for his own good anyway. On the way, Mr Nicole taught Nux several battle related topics, mostly combat. He explained that he was making his foundations strong, and giving him a higher chanc
Nux put on his clothing, a blue shirt and black trousers with blue boots.Mr Nicole seemed to know what fit him because he came out looking extra handsome. His silky smooth blue hair cascaded down his back and reached his waist. Although it was tied back with one of Miss Moraya's root like rope, its beauty was still visible to all.Nux walked side by side with Miss Moraya, trying his best to avoid Mr Nicole who was still clearly mad at his earlier action. They walked through the streets that were bustling with people moving about. Mother's walked with their children in their hands as they pointed excitedly at different things that greatly resembled toys from his world.Fathers had their kids sitting on their shoulders and their wives smiling charmingly by their side. Miss Moraya was smiling too, though for a reason he wasn't sure of.As he walked, memories of the body he resided in surfaced and he remembered 'his' childhood, how he and his parents spent the holidays in the capital, b
Nuxs ears perked up at those words and a wide hideous grin crept up his face, scaring those around him away. "Finally." He said. He turned around and sped towards Mr Nicole who was already heading in his direction. They met half way and walked to the center of the gathering where an altar stood. The altar was carved out of a black stone, its circular edges were smooth and had red rubies embedded in it. Mystical carvings were etched onto its surface and filled with what looked like liquefied rubies, though it looked more like blood. At the center, there was a smooth circular table carved out of the same black stone, with a red skull sitting menacingly on it. The skull had the same shape and size of a Human's, but on the sides of its head, there were two pitch black horns protruding from it. Its eye sockets were like two abysmal black holes that sucked in any form of light that reflected in it. Its black teeths were sharp and beast like, and from its mouth, a dark miasma was cons
Stunned were everyone who witnessed the whole scene, their surprise wasn't due to the Beast Soul awakening which was spectacular, but something else, and while Nux was wondering how everything happened, those around him were discussing something serious. "Wasn't that a Fallen Knight?!!" A boy with freckles asked while pointing with a shaky finger. "We can't be so sure." Another replied. "If we want to know, we will have to ask Scarlett herse..." "That sure is a Fallen Knight, I've read about them from ancient writings." A boy with glasses interrupted and pushed up his glasses slightly. "Hmm...typical nerd." Nux murmured and moved closer to him, knowing fully well that he was about to flaunt his knowledge. He had dealt with this kind of people from his world, so he knew how they behaved. Praise their knowledge one second and BOOM, they start giving more than asked. "First of all, let me explain what and who a Fallen Knight is, for those who don't know who they are." The nerd said c
"FIVE THOUSAND YEARS I'VE WAITED...""...I WILL MAKE THOSE LOW LIVES REGRET THE DAY THEY EVER WENT AGAINST ME." A deep ominous voice boomed, causing everyone to have goosebumps and their hairs to stand straight.Nux who was close to the being releasing the unfathomable pressure, couldn't help but eat dirt as his face was planted in the ground. He bones creaked and his blood circulation was reduced greatly, breathing became a serious problem, and his thoughts became muddled."WHAT'S THIS?!!! YOU DARE TRY TO AWAKEN ME AS YOUR BEAST SOUL!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!" The being roared and began to release an intense bloodlust that assaulted Nux.Nux's body was buried deeper into the ground, his bones began to creak and crack slowly, causing him agonizing pain, he could no longer breath as his blood stopped flowing properly and his heart pace decreased. The being who was censored by a sinister veil of concentrated darkness, focused all of his pressure on Nux.'If it wasn't for me not having my full
Destructive shockwaves were sent out from the impact of the strike. The sound of the collision reached them and almost made their ears bleed.Miss Moraya conjured a barrier made out of roots that shielded her from the shockwaves. Prince Naveen and Princess Emilia utilized their own ways to block the force. Prince Naveen created a wall of metal, and Princess Emilia made a wall of ice.A loud scream of pain resounded from within the dome and it wasn't Nux's voice, so it definitely was his Beast Soul. They weren't in the right state of mind to realize that Beast Souls couldn't show emotions like pain even when they were at the point of death.Mr Nicole who had caused this, rained down attacks on the barrier with his club. The loud ringing sounds caused the air to vibrate and reach far distances, the commoners who had gone far away from the altar heard the loud noises and believed that a battle was taking place. It was a norm for some awakened to loose control of their Beast Souls and a
Nux immmediately got excited at the notion of finally wielding great power. He jumped from his bed and sat back like a child receiving a new toy, however, Mr Nicole's words made him calm down instantly. "It isn't as easy as you think... Nux. We make it look easy because we have years of experience and practice under our belt, we have been in situations that forced us to grow stronger and do things that we never thought were possible." Nux had a solemn expression on his face as he heard those words, he further reigned in his excitement and listened to Mr Nicole's next words. "Observe." Mr Nicole said and sat back. "Turn around." Nux did as told. He sat properly and twisted his body from his waist, so that his legs were not moving from their position, and when he turned, he yelped and fell off the bed in fright. Lo and behold, Mr Nicole's Soul Book was levitating in his face. 'When did he manifest his book behind me, I didn't even notice a thing.' Nux eyed the book warily. "I c
Nux could see several Red/Black Runes floating around the his right arm. They moved in accordance to his arms movement, as if they were attached to it in someway. It should be known that Nux and the Shark King were both standing with their hands raised up. One was pushing and the other was pulling, and because of this, Nux hadn't seen his arm in time and didn't notice those Runes until now. 'Those are definitely Flames, I'm sure of it!' Nux claimed. 'But what Variant are they?'Nux's mind spun, and his thoughts flowed from one point to another. He thought back to how he had gotten the Arm Of Finality to actually be his arm. Natalie had explained to him that his body was filled with a red fog, and was deconstructed, before being rebuilt. He thought back to how his shirts were destroyed when he tried to put them on, and he thought back to the Apostle of Destruction's rusty Red armor. 'Are they perhaps, Variant Destruction/Fire Runes?' As soon as Nux had this thoughts, the Runes arou
Nux slid between the Shark King's leg and popped back up to his feets, then he turned around and kicked at the spot behind it's knees with force. Though it might be heavy, sturdy and incredibly strong, weakness were still weakness. The Shark King, the name Nux had decided to call it, buckled from the kick and almost went on its knees, but before that happened, it straightened itself back up like a spring, and smashed the ground behind it's body with it's tailNux weaved out of the way and punched at its knees again, aiming for the same leg. This process repeated itself until Nux felt that his plan was ready. The creature, in it's rage, spat out flames again, and this time, Nux let it hit him. The Shark King seeing Nux fall to his knees got more confident, and it's took heavy steps forward, making sure Nux was at the hottest parts of the flame. 'A little more...' Nux thought, waiting for the Shark King to get closer. Nux's Fire Immunity was passive, so he couldn't turn it off...
The Shark Queen glowed brightly as the Red and Gold rocks entered her body. The light turned so blinding Nux had to squint his eyes. The phenomenon occuring was one he hadn't seen before, and he therefore didn't know if it was dangerous or not. He considered retreating and reporting his sightings to Master Joe, but something in his mind was telling him to stay, and so he did. The Shark Queen let out a loud noises one last time and suddenly exploded. The explosion wasn't destructive, and the shockwaves, flames and rocks that shot out did little to no damage.Nux stood all through the explosion, only his pants and long black hair ruffling while he stood unmoving. When the explosion was almost over, all the particles, rocks, flames and whatnot that were pushed back by the explosion suddenly paused midair, as if time was stopped, and they began to flow in reverse, going back towards the origin of the explosion. Now Nux was truly intrigued. The fire first condensed to form a humanoid f
Nux stayed shocked for just a second before he acted out, punching out and shooting flames around. The Orange flames lighted up the cave for a second, and he was able to see around, giving Nux a vague idea of where he was. He wasn't a hundred percent sure, but he wasn't in the Beast's belly yet, and he also wasn't in it's mouth. He didn't understand how that was, but all Beasts came with their own unique mutations, quirks and mind-blowing Abilities. Nux, after falling for some seconds, finally landed on a soft squishy part. Goosebumps erupted over his skin as his phobia for soft, wet and squishy things came up. He reigned in the urge to step away from the place he stood on and clenched his fists. His arms lit up with Orange flames, and he raised them up, pointing it around and looking for a clue that could help him escape from the place he was easily, without blowing the Beast up. He noticed, after a while of searching, that the ground was pulsating, further agitating his phobia.
Nux knew that he wasn't fast enough, and the terrain wasn't to his advantage. His opponents were aerial too, further worsening the situation. "Doesn't mean I'll loose though." He acknowledged. He came to a grinding halt and turned around in one smooth motion, he faced his palms towards each other and placed them by his side, close to his hip. Fire began to charge in between them, and as the birds got closer, he compressed the flames that had gathered and threw his palms out, unleashing a beam right at them. Large swathes of them dropped to the ground, dead, but a large number of them remained. Nux didn't slow down after that first move and immediately attacked again. His punched out, and a short burst of flame went out and killed some birds again. The birds were weak individually, and their strength lied in their large Numbers, so each burst of flame took out at least two to three birds. Some seconds later, Nux realised that his efficiency was lacking, and his Mana was draining
"Now that you've successfully learnt the Spell, I want you to perfect it and be able to apply in battle, so keep casting the Spell until you run out of Mana. In the meantime... Natalie come out!" Master Joe called out. It took a few seconds, but Natalie finally came out shyly, her head lowered, and her hand behind her back. She had been hiding there for quite some time now, and she had been spotted by Master Joe. "Your training would begin now, and I want you to give your all." Master Joe said and went ahead to begin teaching Nux and Natalie from that day onward. Nux was taught some of the Spells he had purchased from the Limitless Sea Academy together with Crazed Arrows, the Spell he had won from Gregory. He was also taught some Techniques that could be used in hand to hand combat, and he easily learnt them.Nux didn't slack off for a second. Though this period was supposed to be a time for him to rest, he didn't neglect his training either. And so time passed, and Nux was able t
"Rising Pillar seems like a really good start for your training." Master Joe said, a toothy grin appearing on his face. Nux knew this was trouble, he had been with Master Joe long enough to know when he was up to something. "Lets start with the basic." He jumped to his feets and dragged Nux outside. They moved through the small town they were in, left through the gates and entered the forest ahead. There they found an open area they could stay in and began their training. Aegis hovered fifty meters above their heads and began to spin on his axis, generating Mana in the process and forming a dome that covered the surrounding hundred meters."Rising Pillar is quite a simple Spell to be honest, and the aim of the Spell is to create a pillar of fire beneath your target. But first..."Master Joe went ahead and performed a movement sequence, then he suddenly stomped his foot on the ground, and out of the ground, five meters away from him, a pillar of Blue and Green energy rose up, shovin
Nux and Natalie traveled together with Master Joe, as Nux was forced to call him. Their journey was purposely made long and smooth, perhaps by Master Joe's will, or for another reason. Either way, Nux enjoyed it. They made some stops at Inns and Taverns to eat and clean themselves up, and this routine seemed to calm Nux's mind. It felt just like a holiday break, giving him the necessary rest he didn't know he needed. It wasn't up to a month since he joined the Limitless Sea Academy, hoping that he would learn a lot before leaving for the Heavenly Brutes Academy. But he ended up not learning exactly what he wanted and instead had to deal with annoying people most of the time, Nobles to be precise. He had learnt a little bit of Inscriptions and Enchantment, and he had a Quill and Inkwell, but... he hadn't had time to learn Inscribing itself, all he knew how to do was control Runes he had affinity for, and stamp them, which was very dangerous. He had missed most of the classes, not i
Nux spotted Natalie and walked over. He placed a hand on her shoulders and flashed her a brilliant smile."Are you okay?" Nux asked. She hesitated for a moment before finally nodding her head. Nux's smile widened and he proceeded to ask her what really happened while he was passed out. Natalie told how Teacher Joseph had come in and saved him, defeated the Apostle of Destruction easily while protecting him at the same time. Nux was surprised by what he heard, and he felt that something wasn't right."You said he saw you right, but he didn't say anything to you?" Nux asked. "Yes.""That's strange, does he not know?" Nux soliloquized. He didn't think for long and turned back to Natalie with a serious expression on his face. "You know you can't stay here anymore right?""Yes, and that's why she'll be going with you." Nux and Natalie looked up, and they found Teacher Joseph hovering right above them. "I assume you're ready to leave at this moment, No?" Teacher Joseph asked, going s
