Rickey saw that condemning gaze of Fred, who looked towards him with a frowning brow and a scornful and disgusting expression. Rickey knew Fred had little to no value to his subordinates. That much was advertised in his expressions even when Rickey was on his deathbed.

A great lord would wish at least a farewell towards his subordinate that was dying fighting for him. However, Fred wasn't a lord, he was just a scheming strategist. Fred realized that the lord had to be someone worthy, respected, and caring by this point. Rickey's eyes turned towards Tejasv and thought he may be someone worthwhile to swear allegiance to.
