Tejasv and Fred glanced at each other, and Fred swallowed in fear. Tejasv grinned at this devastating query of Daemon. He almost knew what Daemon meant, and even his enemies could see his glare.

Tejasv gestured to Fred to ask whether he was ready for a bloody battle and let the fighters lose their desires in flesh and blood. Meanwhile, Fred glanced at his companion, Rickey, to receive his opinion.

Although Fred realized this action of his would deem him below Tejasv since a lord never asks for his subordinate or warriors' opinion when initiating a duel for a cause or maybe for no reason. Even though Fred wanted to receive a simple gesture of approval from Rickey because the duel would be between him and Daemon.

A fighter must battle with his heart to display his might more appropriately and even most vigorously. Sometimes this gesture gives the vassal comfort who belongs to a fixed party. That was the only reason for Fred to first ask his subordinate for approval.
