The mejai wasn't malevolent, or even interested in Corey's group after she got her rose. She tended to them on the other side of the cave, and once the first hour passed by she told them they had four hours left. She was a full cloud of dark smoke, and Mikayla was sketching and writing everything that she could about the Mejai even though the woman said nothing to her. Corey leaned against the rough wall while the others ate and tried to take a nap, and he thought of Erogo and the order of the seven. At any moment, one of those two could come for him. Erogo still being stronger than Corey, yet he was very afraid of him. As much as that shot to Corey's ego, it didn't do anything to stop his wandering mind. He had to ask, he had to think, why would Erogo still fear him?It was almost like Corey had something that he was completely unaware of. Maybe that was it. But it seemed unlikely, NewAge would have told him if there was something. But the system hadn't brought up that topic. Some
This is stupid, that was Corey first thought once he woke up from his horrid one hour nap. His choice hadn't been easy, but he decided to just take the rickety bridge. For the sake experiments. The woki was not pleased. Hearing the creaks from wherever it was. But there was nothing to fear because the first step it took broke and the woki fell down into the abyss. You would think that meant everything was going to go greatly from there, but it only got worse when Corey discovered there were more of that beast. They had to tiptoe all the way to another stream, and relieve their legs. The woki that had been following them stood by the door. Looking at them even though it couldn't see. But it could hear the stream. The sounds of their breathing. He closed his eyes for a nap on the hard floor, and woke up to the Woki only a foot away. Corey could just kill the beast, and that was what he intended to do. He was not a simpleton anymore. And as much as he loved adventure, he didn't want th
Mikayla had clearly done her research on Luke, because she had more than one of his humiliating stories to tell. The further they walked, and talked, the more Corey's senses were on high alert. He knew he wasn't the only one on edge, but they all laughed and acted like everything was hunky dory. There wasn't a problem in the world with the way they were acting. After a moment, Mikayla started another story. The walls were getting brighter from Corey's point, they didn't even need the flashlights and that bothered him. Why wouldn't it? The first day, or hours of them being in the pyramid and it was all darkness, now suddenly it had bright light. You would be worried too. They were crossing a path between the pyramid they had entered, and another one. Tombs were everywhere. With the names of each mejai written. From necraph, to maera, and more. These were the deadliest ones and somehow they were station in the same place. They made their walk quick as they noticed the cracking sound
Two people arguing startled Corey out of his stupor. Not sleep. Corey didn't sleep because he was trying to formulate a plan on what to do with himself now that he hadn't picked up a quest or done anything. He knew if he ran into people they would be out for his head, but he wasn't about to let that stop him. So he stayed up all night, thinking to no success and staring at his ceiling like a madman. He didn't want to leave his room to see who was the cause of the argument. Or who was having the argument. The screaming got louder and louder. And you'd think they were hard to resist but Corey did the impossible. He resisted. He stayed put, hoping they were mature enough to solve their dispute without him. When heavy thumping started to march his way, Corey rolled off the bed. Then rolled again, but under it. The door slammed open, and he couldn't see who it was but he knew by the growl. It was Borba. Meaning she was fighting with Misha. Again. They were sometimes at each other's thro
Corey decided the first quest would be the solo one. For reasons he kept to himself. The women needed to be informed, he'd told Mikayla of course and she took it well. If he didn't know better, he would have thought that she was grateful that she didn't have to go. And maybe he didn't know. As he gathered the other women, plus Laverna who he had decided would come with him so they could discuss more. He hadn't even informed her yet. NewAge: WASN'T LAVERNA MARRIED? HAVE YOU ASKED HER IF SHE WANTS TO SEE HER HUSBAND?'Remind me to do that once we're alone.'"Corey, it's too early for this."He hummed, "yeah I'm sure. But I've gathered you here to inform you that I'll be embarking on a solo quest with Laverna.""What? Why her?""Yeah, why me? I don't like work."Corey refrained from rolling his eyes at the childishness, and mostly laziness when Laverna was involved. Smart as she is, she just didn't fancy having to work for anything. Which should have annoyed. Corey, but he refused to bo
A loud thud snapped Corey out of his sleep. He groaned, rubbing his eyes and blinking at the darkness. His breath came out slowly, and Corey promised to smacked the owner of that noise until they saw red. He jumped out of bed, his pajama bottoms hanging low off his waist. He marched with vigor. Walking into the dining hall where the women were preparing breakfast. Borba was holding up a keg of beer over her mouth, and Misha was watching her with disgust. "You can't possibly think that's healthy for you.""Which one you made that noise!?! I was trying to sleep." Corey raised his voice high so that they could hear him as he voiced his rage. They turned to him, blinking. "What noise? Was it Borba drinking? cause I'd wouldn't be surprised."Finishing the beer, she smacked her beer keg. Breaking it on Misha's head. The sentinel voiced her discomfort as Borba circled her bicep around her throat. "Sorry Corey, the crash must have come from Pamela's room. She's been working on something."
It took Corey two days to accept that he could not figure out the key and lock. He was annoyed, and just wanted to break something. So instead of going on the serious group quest, Corey opted for a lesser quest. Which involved crashing a party at a bar and claiming to be friends of the groom. Because he has no friends and he didn't want to seem like a loser. Which, Corey what laughed when he saw the quest. Sure, the groom didn't technically call himself a loser but when Corey told this story to the girls they were dying. They all needed a good moment to laugh it all out before they arrived at the venue. Laughing at the groom would have been a bad idea. "He's paying for friends, I'm so dead." Gogo snickered. It had been a whole hour, they were dressed for this event and still laughing like idiots. "Where do you find these idiots?" Pamela laughs. "Even if I didn't have friends, I never would have done something this lame. He's paying us so much to fake being his friends? Then what? W
As depressing as hiring yourself a group of friends was, Corey and his women were able to steal the show and make the groom feel perfectly comfortable. Hai wife was surprised, and so was everyone. Mostly because of the variety of women that surrounded Corey. The stroy they went with was that Corey was one of the groom's oldest friends, and he was coming to the wedding with his women. A few of them were the groom's friends. They brought gifts and by the time the boring vows had been done, and they could go to the reception and watch the couple and their family dance, Corey was relaxed. Verosika, Pamela and Yumiko caught the bride's attention. And they were dancing around her while having a conversation. Borba was drinking with one of the groomsmen, while Misha avoided everyone as much as they avoided her. Well except for the bounty hunters who were trying to make conversations with her for the wrong reasons. Gogo was dancing with a little kid, she'd made him a horse from a balloon so
