From the quest window, he realized that his blood energy had increased from zero to eight. He got a free blood energy by absorbing the dark energy from the earth while the other seven blood energy he got them from milking that Wood River dry. His strength had also increased to eight from zero, the same figure as his blood energy. He also got ten energy points from killing that level one Wood River.

While Lazy Wafula was still busy staring at his interface, he heard any growls of beasts coming their way. Fey Wesonga who was still deeply rooted in one place with his mouth agape was snapped from his stupor and hollered at Lazy Wafula, "Man, we should run now, that was a young Wood River, I think its parents are coming our way.

"Why should we run away. We came here to hunt down those beasts and we should do just that." Lazy Wafula said to him with determined eyes. He was adamant about staying. Those were Wood Rivers after all. If he absorbed much of their blood essence, he would understand their Wood ability in a big way. He can't miss such a chance.

The trees ruffled their leaves revealing three big copies of the small Wood River that Lazy Wafula had just killed. Just like the small Wood River, these ones were also at level one of the mortal stage. They were at the very peak of this level as Lazy Wafula can feel the slightly strong savage aura radiating from them. These beasts were huffing with killing intent directed towards them. When they saw the dried corpses of the small Wood River, their rage was fueled even more and they then jumped into action without waiting.

Screech!

They let out a strident and jumped from tree to tree until they reached the area where they were.

"We must go all out man. We should also coordinate to take them out quickly." Lazy Wafula said and moved. He was not planning to stand there and wait for them to reach him. Lazy Wafula as usual, leapt to the air and gripped a branch of a tree before swinging himself to meet the three beasts.

Knowing what he was planning to do, the beasts sneered mockingly and their tongues which were coiled, slippery and extra long with worm-like appearance, they were sent his way with an amazing speed. It looks like these big Wood Rivers which were about to level up to level two of the mortal realm were almost getting a maximum understanding of the use of their tongues which underwent a mutation because of staying in this undead world for a long time. One should know that the undead world was not their ancestral land but because of absorbing too much dark energy from the earth, they became inhabitants of this place. The undead / dark energy runs in their being. This undead cultivation plane had a slight resemblance to their ancestral land and that was why they can survive here. Unlike the small Wood River which had not yet gotten an understanding of the use of its tongue, these big ones were an exception. The tip of their tongues were razor sharp and produced a stinky acidic slime that breaks down every being that it was in contact with, not to mention that their tongues though boneless, with the help of their blood energy, they can be as stiff as trunks and coupled with the speed that the tongues were sent towards Lazy Wafula, if those tongues made contact, his body will be pierced easily like paper.

Because Lazy Wafula was midair, it was difficult for him to get away faster than the tongues sent to his way. His fighting instincts run as he search for a way to retaliate. He saw a way out, yes.

He chosed the smaller one among them which according to him, should be the weakest of them all. These big Wood Rivers were as big as buffaloes while the small Wood River that he had killed earlier was the size of an antelope.

Fey Wesonga had earlier leapt up to the air after he saw Lazy Wafula advancing towards the beasts bravely. The blood within him was burning, he also wanted to rip some flesh. Even though his body was plump, when it came to running and jumping, he was not to be underestimated. His fatty build was as light as a feather. He spun his hammer in the air creating a tornado. With the help of the wind, he propelled himself swiftly towards the three beasts.

One of the beast which was going for Lazy Wafula stopped advancing its tongue towards him and coiled it sending it towards Fey Wesonga who had come in between. With that happening, Lazy Wafula was left to deal with the two beasts. He focused his blood energy in his hands and then moved his hands quickly like lightning and grasped the tongue of the smaller Wood River, tightly. The smaller Wood River released a hysterical echoed laughed and its tongue became even more slimy with more acidic slime being produced which burned Lazy Wafula's hands making them to release dark pungent smoke. At the same time, the long distance between him and the other beast which was slightly far away had made its tongue to take time to reach him. Now it was almost getting in contact with his chest. Lazy Wafula jerked aside and used the tongue of the smaller Wood River to intercept the other tongue but even if it was a very small distance to make impact, the Wood River undulated its tongue making it to change its trajectory only brushing its tongue with the smaller Wood River's. Their saliva like slime didn't harm their tongues but to Lazy Wafula whom it had splattered on him, he was feeling prickles everywhere. He wanted to scratch the sores on his skin but his hands were full. The tongue of the other Wood River which had brushed by the tongue of the smaller Wood River managed to get to Lazy Wafula in no time and pierced through his shoulder before coiling itself around his hand. It was planning to bind him before squeezing him to death with just its tongue.

Lazy Wafula for the first time since coming to this world felt pain like no other. The corrosive tongue which had coiled around his shoulder was corrupting his body at a very fast rate. The black corrupted fleshy parts of his shoulder which had turned to dark heavy liquid were pouring down slowly like a viscous solvent. One should know that Lazy Wafula never released his grasp on the tongue of the smaller Wood River. His hands had been corroded until the audience can see clearly the phalanges of his hands which had little flesh here and there. Even though he was in pain, Lazy Wafula never released his grip on it.

The other Wood River which had its tongue wrapped around his shoulder going forward towards his hand had corrupted his shoulder with its corrosive slime until the scapula and the rib cage can be seen vaguely. The Wood River didn't just stop there, little thread like worms sprouted haphazardly from its tongue which then dug into his chest and upon chancing upon his meridians, they dug into his meridians and followed the route to his dantian. Apparently, the Wood River wanted to drain his blood energy for itself.

Knowing what the Wood River was planning to do, Lazy Wafula snapped. The pain that he was undergoing when his meridians were breached can not be explained.

"Aaargh!"

Lazy Wafula eventually let out a deafening cry that reverberated in the entire forest. The Wood River which was on top of Fey Wesonga as it had already shown its saw like teeth while licking his chubby neck. It had just decided to tear Fey Wesonga's face when it heard that deafening cry. That cry was like a soul attack that made it dazed for a little while. Fey Wesonga on the other hand spurted a mouthful of blood but because he was still feeling pain from the several injuries that the Wood River had done him, he was not that too affected by that cry, he quickly rolled away and got out of the grasp of the Wood River. He can not help but be entranced and confused. That cry can only be produced by demons, how come a human can produce such a cry? Was he too talented that he can even learn the abilities of the demons? Fey Wesonga was taken aback. Lazy Wafula was showing to be too powerful than him who had been in this shelter for more than fourty years. Was he really a duffer just like how those guys from the shelter had nicknamed him? How can he be outperformed by a newbie? Were newbies nowadays this powerful? The guy had just had his first taste of blood energy but he was this powerful how will he be like when he filled all his bars? Fey Wesonga was having a breakdown. He was also determined to be strong, not because of the quest, but for himself, he can not allow a newbie to outperform him and even if the newbie will be better, he will not allow him to leave him behind by a big margin. He stared at the Wood River which was getting sober and moved.

In the meantime, the smaller Wood River was also not prepared for that cry and because it was close to the being which had produced the cry, it was the most affected as it quickly retracted its tongue and disappeared to the nearby tree. The other Wood River on the other hand was prepared for that cry. Because it was connected to Lazy Wafula, it had felt the movement of his blood energy in the meridians and it thus knew that something was brewing up so, it put up its defenses on time.

After that cry, the air around Lazy Wafula changed. He became like a demon that had been released from hell after being imprisoned there for eons. He himself didn't knew what was happening in his body because he just wanted to get the Wood River away from him. His eyes gleamed with a red light like torches while his existance lodged in this world. It was like he had became a part of this world as his aura and blood energy became in harmony with this plane. He was like an undead. The undead cultivation plane was him and he was the undead cultivation plane. This plane had accepted his existance fully.

Very far away at the core of the undead cultivation plane, the guardian spirit of this plane was perturbed. He opened his eyes and shifted his gaze to where he had sense the air of dark divinity coming from.
