Chapter 8

At One o'clock at noon

At Stanley University, the sound of the final bell ringing was heard in Room 447.

The sun was shining brightly. Although Henry rushed to his class, he was still late.

By the time he arrived, the teacher had left, and many students were packing up to leave.

The class representative was cleaning the board when she saw Henry standing by the door.

"Henry, how dare you skip classes? You were not like this before." The class representative, Isabella Isaac, was petite, and always wore her hair in a high ponytail.

She was excellent at her studies, and was very kindhearted, so all the boys in the class were fond of her.

"Sorry, I had something urgent to deal with."

Since Henry knew that he was in the wrong, he could not help but smile sheepishly.

"These lessons are very important. Find me in the library later in the afternoon, and I'll help you."

Henry didn't have much interaction with Isabella. They were both equally good at studies, and they were like competitors in class. He was a little surprised when she said that she would help him learn.

"No, thanks. I'll study them on my own. Thanks, rep."

Upon hearing Henry's blunt reply, Lucas Moore frowned.

As a member of the student union, he was responsible for disciplining the students. He was just as brilliant as Henry and Isabella, and he believed that he was handsome.

In fact, he had confessed his feelings to Isabella several times, but she had turned him down.

Hence, seeing Henry, who was a poor guy studying with the help of scholarships, refusing the class rep's kindness, he was annoyed.

Lucas didn't like the fact that Isabella offered to help Henry. "Henry, skipping classes is against the rules. I will report it to the student union and deduct your credits."

"I had something to deal with this morning. It's not like I meant to skip classes, okay?" Henry replied honestly.

"'Since I did not get any leave application from you, or any kind of notice from the teacher, you must be punished for your absence." Lucas was quite pleased with himself, thinking that he had something about Henry now.

"Okay, whatever. I don't care." Henry was obviously not interested in talking to him and wasting his time.

The credits that he had accumulated until now were a lot, and even if he deducted credits for months, he would still have enough.

"As far as I know, you are supported by scholarships from the school, and if that's cut off, then how will you live?" Lucas didn't want to be nice to Henry at all. He picked up his backpack, intending to leave.

"The distribution of scholarships is decided by the student union's assessment. Do you really think that you're the deciding authority in the matter?" Isabella asked with a frown.

"Of course! It is because I'm the one responsible for disciplining the students! I can deduct his credits over and over again, until they reach zero points. It won't just be his scholarship that gets affected, he won't even be able to graduate!"

"How can you do such a thing?" Isabella was so furious that she clenched her fists, trembling.

However, the more she tried to help Henry, the more Lucas despised him. Lucas was actually under the impression that he was a powerful member of the student union, and that a poor guy who lived off scholarships would not be able to change his decisions.

Isabella was at a loss when she saw him walk out of the classroom resolutely. "Henry, you are in trouble! Although skipping classes is not a big deal, your credits will be deducted, and now it will affect your scholarships."

Isabella stomped her feet. "You are from a poor family and the scholarships are very important to you. Why don't you go talk to Lucas? He is easy-going."

Henry found her rather cute when he saw her being so anxious for his sake. It was the first time that he was with someone who cared about him, and he was grateful for that.

However, he knew that Lucas was not easygoing like she said.

Lucas had been targeting poor students who were studying with the help of scholarships, and bullying them for a long time now.

He had always used his authority to threaten other students. He even managed to bully some pretty girls.

In other words, Lucas was a scum, and Henry had been fed up with his condescending attitude for a long time now.

"Don't worry, it's just a small issue. I'll make him pay for what he did!" His face turned livid with rage and a devilish grin appeared on his lips.

Henry had always followed the rules, so Lucas had not been able to do anything to him until now. If Henry had been like the other students, then he would have been forced to surrender his money, and that would not have been easy for him.

Fortunately, Henry was nothing like the other students.

As the future successor of Anderson Group, how could he bring himself to plead with a guy like Lucas? He believed that he should make Lucas kneel before him!

Before Lucas walked too far, Henry followed him.

Just when they were about to reach the exit of the building, Henry called out to Lucas.

"You haven't solved the problem of me skipping classes yet. Why are you running away?"

An evil smile appeared on Lucas' lips. He guessed that Henry could not afford to lose his credits and was ready to give him his money.

"Do you now my rules?" Lucas turned around and rubbed his hands.

"One hundred or two hundred?" Henry laughed. "I don't have money to pay you, but I do have a hell lot of money that I can burn!"
