Chapter 9

"Are you making fun of me? How dare you!" Lucas' expression changed all of a sudden.

"Well, I can easily cross out the records, and the days during which you skipped classes will disappear without a trace. However, it can also happen otherwise."

Lucas threatened Henry. It was a trick that always worked for him. Whenever he dealt with a cowardly student, he would threaten them in the exact same way to make them give him all of their money.

"I am sick of seeing your same old tricks. You're just a loser who likes bullying others by taking advantage of your position as the student council." Henry could not help but find Lucas' threat to be ridiculous.

"It is true that I don't have any evidence against you right now, but I have people who will do anything as long as I tell them. For example, they will accuse you of fighting or molesting girls." Saying that, Lucas laughed.

Upon hearing that, Henry's expression darkened. He had only wanted Lucas to step down.

Henry realized that a guy like Lucas would only bring more problems if he continued to stay in this school, and he would only end up hurting more people.

"Fools usually get destroyed because of their complacent attitude!" Clenching his fists, Henry turned away, and walked out of there.

He arrived there pretty soon, knocked on the door, and opened it after getting a response from the inside.

Inside the room, Mr Jones, the principal, was talking to Mr Martin, a teacher.

"Well, Henry, you came at the right time. The principal and I were talking about you."

Mr Martin was a strict teacher, who never showed mercy to defaulters. He was lean and tall, and wore a pair of old, thick-framed glasses. "Since you skipped classes, you will not be able to apply for the scholarship anymore, so l am trying to help you think of other options."

In the past, Mr Martin had helped Henry a lot with his studies. In fact, there had been times when he had stayed back even after work hours to help Henry.

"That's exactly the reason I'm here. I want to donate money to the school."

"Don't be silly! I know all about your family background and your situation…"' In a rush, Mr Martin tried to stop him.

"I don't know how much you are planning to donate to the school, but I suggest that you keep the money for your own studies. There is no need for you to worry about the school." Mr Jones could tell that Henry was trying to repay the school, but he didn't think the money Henry would donate would be too much.

"I'm willing to donate ten million dollars to the school", Henry replied with a confident smile.

His words stunned Mr Jones, and Mr Martin thought that Patrick must be out of his mind.

Although Mr Jones might not know about Henry's background, Mr Martin knew well that Henry was a poverty-stricken student, who was only able to study because of the

scholarship. It would be difficult for him to donate even a thousand dollars, let alone ten million.

Confused, Mr Jones showed Henry the school account, and said, "If you are really interested in donating your money to the school, then donate a hundred or two hundred dollars, and we let this subject drop. We can continue to talk about your scholarship."

Without even hesitating for a second, Henry transferred ten million dollars into the school's bank account.

A few seconds later, Mr Jones received a call from the accountant.

"Ten million dollars? Are you sure that it's not just a hundred dollars? What? For real?"

Mr Jones mind went blank as he stood up and hurry to make a pot of tea.

He even pulled a chair for Henry, giving him a flattering smile.

"Well, I am sure you must be thirsty. Please have a cup of tea. We will talk about the details of the donation,'' Mr Jones said in a polite voice, smiling.

After all, ten million dollars was the biggest donation that the school had ever received.

Henry sat down, took the teacup from Mr Jones, drank a sip, and nodded.

Mr Martin couldn't believe his ears. He sat still, wondering if he had recognized Henry wrongly.

"May I know your father's name? I'm terribly sorry for not recognizing you."

Mr Martin ignored Mr Jones.

At that moment, everything else seemed to be insignificant, compared to the ten million dollar donation.

Considering the fact that Henry had transferred such a huge amount to the school's bank account, he figured that Henry's family must own assets worth more than a hundred million dollars.

"My name is Henry, and I'm sorry, but I am going to have to keep the other details anonymous."
