Chapter 17: Do you believe in the legends?

Seventh shouted out, and before him was the blood moon. Since his village had settled in this place, this was the first time such a terrifying phenomenon had appeared. Adding to the earlier dream, it felt too real. It didn’t resemble a dream at all; it was more like a warning, or, more accurately, a prophecy. The blood moon, dead bodies, the smell of blood, insects, flies – everything was horrifying. He remembered the scene from the painting; it was unmistakably his village. He couldn’t be wrong. Everything was eerily familiar, from the structure, location, shape, to the dead thornbushes. And the house in the dream, the one with the wind chimes hanging outside, that was his house. That was undeniable. The words of the person in the red robe repeated in Seventh’s mind once again: “Your village will face calamity!” Those words were indeed a prophecy, and the recent harsh weather was a sign, a warning. His village had committed an offense against a higher power.
