Eric quickly went through the enchantement descriptions that he wasn't able to see before he bought the weapon. The first one was Perfect Pinnacle. This enchantment made the weapon such that it would always a pinnacle weapon no matter the class it was in. It was plain and simple even in the name. The second enchantment was Machine Transformation. It allowed the Divine Smite to take the shape of any weapon according to the imaginations of its wielder. Basically, the form that the weapon take is restricted by the imagination of its user. The third enchantment, Divine Punishment, allows the weapon to shoot out beams and blasts that was likened to divine punishment. This hinted at the possible destructive powers that the weapon was capable of wielding in such blasts. This Divine Punishment could also take the form of any attack whether elemental, conceptual or esoteric to harm any kind of creature be it physically, spiritually or mentally. It all depends on the versatility of the user.Up
Three weeks of dungeon ‘bullying’ went by and the cohort were stronger than ever.Maric, Amy, Nelson and Matt were already at Awakened Grade 5 while the rest were at Awakened Grade 6. They had grown so much and been through so much more.During this time they also cleared the 1.6 and 1.7 dungeons and it was a menacing and deadly raid. Unlike their usual raids where they held back or totally dominated their fights, these two particular raids were deadly and almost became even dire for them.Their survival was credited to the effects of Divine Smite and the intelligence of the creatures they fought. The 1.6 dungeon was perhaps the worst they've encountered so far in their history of dungeon raiding.Unlike the dungeons that gave them goblins, treants, orges and golems, this dungeon gave them specters, liches, ghosts, wraiths, zombies and ghasts. Most of their arsenal was useless and the ones who came through for them for that raid to be successful were Chuck and Eric.Chuck, having a
From every possible corner of the dungeon, imps poured forth towards the cohort.Unlike the lesser demon imps they faced, these ones were bigger and more menacing. They were also Lesser Demon Imps by name but there were grade 8s and grade 7s among them. The cohort charged forwards to meet them in battle, with Eric and Matt peppering them with their artillery.Eric's special weapon was currently the form of a long machine gun and with blasts of ‘divine punishment’ flying out of it, nothing could really stop them.Well, nothing could really stop them except the fact that these imps were fast and they shot out balls of molten magma back at them. Besides, not all of them ran. Some took to the skies and started to pepper them with molten magma balls from above.Chuck barely dodged a magma ball as sent a blast of black energy towards the incoming horde.Mr. Baker raised his hands up and conjured a barrier of energy around the cohort, preventing any of the balls from threatening them. As a r
“You said we should take care and fight the Imps with all seriousness, yet you pulverise them with your overpowered weapon. Why keep our hopes up?” Chuck asked, slightly displeased.Eric inhaled and exhaled softly, feeling an influx of XP into his soul. He nodded and looked at Chuck before patting him on the shoulder and looking away.“...” Chuck couldn't find his words, as he watched Eric turning his attention to the inner areas of the dungeon.“The boss will be here soon. Let's invest our skill points now. It would be a waste if we were to die knowing we could have done something to increase our chances of living.” Eric said with a soft smile. His soft smile faded when he saw his manna points;[MP: 2/490]He couldn't use the “divine punishment” enchantment on his weapon again till he replenishes his mana points bar, and he was all out of mana potions. He got quite a number of skill points compared to the rest of them and he was also on the verge of ascending to Awakened Grade 5 just
With a crudely replicated quick strike technique, Eric took down an imp by slicing its head diagonally. He was still reeling from the backlash when another imp came upon him.He swiftly placed his weapon before him to block but the force of impact of the imp's blow sent him flying straight into a building wall. Before he was up again, the imp was upon him, claws extended. Eric shifted his body to the side, barely avoiding the claws. He swiftly thrusted the ever shifting overpowered weapon, it was already taking the form of a dirk. With a wet sound of metal piercing flesh, the dirk found its way through the Imps chest and through its heart. His mana points had replenished up to 30 mana points and pumping the mana points into the weapon, the dirk exuded the annihilating energy contained within it into the body of the imp, nullifying its remaining life force.[You've received 1200 coins for slaying an Awakened Grade 5 Lesser Demon Imp.][+3 Skill Points][+3XP points][XP: 264/300]“Aft
The demon was surrounded on all sides by the cohort, ready to beat it up as though it wasn't a high level entity.Eric had mimicked the two Awakened Grade 1 he had encountered so far, Queen of Storms and World Serpent Hatchling, and he was ready to fight. His mana, however, was burning at a fast rate due to the mimicry of both entities. He was also going to be using the ‘Divine Punishment’ enchantment on his weapon, so in no time his mana reserves would be depleted. The entity growled and lunged at the weakest of them, Chuck, with aims to take him out first. That was when the cohort sprang into action, all of them.Eric and Amy dashed forward at crazy speeds towards the monster, weapons ready in hand.Chuck was also ready to face the creature, already taking a battle stance with his spiked mace.A forcefield wall appeared in front of Chuck just before the demon would hit him with its fist. The wall reverberated and cracked but it held steadfast. The demon was taken aback, clearly it h
The Demon Imp Captain let out an earth-rendering roar into the sky with all its might, casting fear and panic into the hearts of the cohort.Eric frowned, even amidst panic, and hurled the Divine Smite at the demon. The Divine Smite, now in form of a spear, soared through the air and made its way towards the demon. The demon completely evaded the spear by teleporting away from its trajectory. The demon wasn't so keen on killing them yet, as it wanted them to feel despair and hopelessness. It roared again, this time, firing a thin beam of hellfire into the sky. Its wings lit up and unfurled with force. The forceful unfurling gave rise to an hurricane of immolating hot winds that crumbled the buildings behind it.“We can't win. We can't win!” Chuck said hopelessly, dropping his mace. “It's over.”“We've come this far, only to end our journey here? No no no!” Erica shook her head, unwilling to accept the situation.Everyone was also starting to despair and fear slowly. No matter what abi
“You shouldn't scare us like that! At least tell us your plan before you do something like that.” Chuck scolded his friend.“Funny thing…” Eric chuckled sheepishly while scratching the back of his head. “... I never had a plan.”“That's all in the past now, we've done it. We successfully cleared the dungeon.” Amy said with a relieved smile.“Glad you're alive fodder. Wouldn't want you dead for any reason. After all, you still have some of my monster corpses with you.” Nelson said, ending the sentence with a tsk sound. He then walked forward a short distance and glanced back at his friends.“Even if it's just bones, I call dibs on the Awakened Grade 2 corpse.” Nelson said with a sly smirk.“No bloody way! I killed that thing so I'm taking it.” Eric disagreed and walked forward, feigning a threatening gait.“How did you survive that blast though?” Matt asked, walking forward towards them, caressing his index finger.“...” Eric opened his mouth and paused. He then chuckled softly.“What'
