Truth: Part Three

"So you are saying we are the real villain here!" Beril looked at him, rejecting the incredible story he had told.

"No, Mrs. Beril, I didn't say monsters were innocent. Their sins are never acceptable...But that doesn't change the fact that you are the invaders!"

"You talk like a riddle and unfortunately we don't understand anything..." Said demanded a clearer explanation.

"Ok. This planet is your world and bloody events took place in your world many years ago. Five nonhuman beings had come to your world and they told some greedy people that if they slaughter the innocent they will grant them superpowers. Some humans accepted the condition presented to them to have superpowers and started killing many innocent people. The more killing means the more power...Events got out of control and unfortunately, these greedy people started to take over the dominant power in the world. And in the wars that lasted for many years, almost all of humanity was destroyed. And only these greedy evil people survived, their number is, we might say, several hundred thousand. Since they obtained their powers in such bloody ways, they turned into monsters over time."

"Don't think of it as arrogance, but it's not believable. Then why are we still alive? They appeared in our world one night and we started a war against them!" Jianyu intervened.

"No, it was the opposite as I said!"

"How?"

"One of these five non-human beings betrayed them. She started to like humans and took action to prevent your world from being destroyed. Using her divine powers, she teleported millions of good people to the future, that is, to the time zone we are in, by time travel. In doing so, she gave some of you the powers you have now and created Upgraded Humans."

"If so, why don't any of us remember them?"

"As I told you, Mr. Said, she was very strong enough to have godlike powers. But not the strongest of that five non-human beings. She teleported you all, and a stronger one of her race erased the memory of everyone who teleported. When you got here, false memories were implanted in your mind. And monsters...They all took on human appearances and infiltrated your society. So the monsters do not live in the southern continents as you think. They live here in your society."

"It's really silly. What about the Apocalyptic Wars? Are they fake too?

"No, Mr. Jianyu. Everything you have experienced since the day you came here is real. When you first came, they wanted to destroy you by fighting, but they failed. Then they transformed into humans and infiltrated you. All of them have this ability because they were human before..."

"Then, why didn't they finish it by killing us one by one?"

"After taking over the world, the world of monsters turned into complete monarchical order. But when the war was unexpectedly not won against you, Upgraded Humans, the leaders ordered them to sneak among you and not reveal themselves until further notice. Currently, only the leaders of the monsters and some of their servants reside in the southern continents. All remaining monsters live among you! Sometimes, some of them turn into monsters and make you kill themselves so that you don't notice all these secret structurings."

"So why are you telling us this? And if you wanted us to find out, why didn't you do it in times of the Wars?" Said didn't believe the crazy story like the others, but he still was questioning parts of the script that he suspected.

"Because the expected order has been given. They announced to all the monsters that the real war would take place after a few months! And the monsters that have infiltrated you have begun their preparations."

"Preparations?"

"Killing Upgraded Humans one by one when they get the chance...In your homes...In your workplaces...In your schools...I'm talking about the assassinations when you least expect it."

"Wait for a second, Jianyu!" Said interrupted Jianyu, who was preparing to ask a new question. "You didn't fully answer my question! Why are you telling us this? You are one of them!"

"I am a dissident in the society of monsters. My strength is greater than any of them! But I hide it from them and live as a servant of Gargunia among them. You may assume I'm someone who wants to equalize power between humans and monsters. That is all I say!"

"So you want us to kill them from now on?"

"Somehow..."

"And if one day we become stronger then you will try to destroy us?"

Doom has grinned with a sinister aura. "I really liked you, Mr. Said. But as I said, this conversation is over..."

"SOMETHING...!" Elena reactivated her translucent sphere and cried out in panic. "NO...GARGUNIA IS COMING!"

"WHAT!" Her husband, Nikolay was panicked too.

"This is bad!" Doom intervened "Even though I am far stronger than it, I can not kill it, others may detect my betrayal. And Gargunia must not learn of my plans either!" He turned and looked at Moss Gemini. "Teleport all humans to a safe place far away. And you both will go too!"

"Sure, Lord Doom. But what will you do?"

After thinking for a few seconds, Doom looked at Said, Bardrick, and Jianyu. "Although the battlefield is full of human bodies, Gargunia is strong enough to sense all presences from miles away. The disappearance of you all will make him suspicious. You three stay. When he comes, he will drive me away and want to kill you himself. Don't worry, I won't let you die. I need you for my future strategies. If the situation gets too bad, I'll somehow get him back to the continent."

"IMPOSSIBLE! they have no chance of winning against such a powerful creature! This is absolute suicide!"

"As I said, I would never allow that!, Ms. Beril."

"What if the war turns out to be in our favor?" Said asked, not understanding.

Doom grinned again. "Then you will become famous by killing one of the most powerful enemies in history."

Said, Bardrick, and Jianyu looked at each other and nodded.

"We should stay too!" Others did not want their leaders to suffer further damage.

"No, the crowd makes him suspicious. Take them away!"

At her master's instruction, Moss Gemini activated a skill, and a blue mist covered the battlefield, then vanished along with the humans and Geminis.

Now there were only Doom, Said, Bardrick, and Jianyu on the battlefield...

The last and most dangerous Boss Fight of the night was about to begin...
