CHAPTER 12
The next morning.

Gabe woke up to find himself sleeping on a mat. The first thing he remembered was his aunt. He rushed into her room. To his relief, she was on the bed, sleeping. He checked her pulse, and she was alive.

Gabe then remembered about the ring. He looked at his hand, but it was gone.

He called for Systa, but she didn’t respond. No matter how many times she called her name, there was no response.

The ring was nowhere to be seen. He checked his pockets, and the hall and the kitchen. Everywhere.

“Don’t tell me… that bastard stole my ring,” Gabe’s heart never beat so fast before. This feeling was a profound mixture of anger and fear, something he was very much familiar with.

Anger for what Bart had done to him, and fear for the fact that he needed to face someone like Bart to get his ring back.

“My punch didn’t even show any affect on him. How can I win against him? I don’t even have a ring…” Just then, he remembered how Bart treated his aunt, and the fear was replaced
