CHAPTER 248

Mia was surprised to hear Antony’s words. She looked at Gabe just to see his expression.

“After I stopped working as a delivery driver, I couldn’t bring the leftover food packages here anymore,” Gabe said, looking a bit disappointed with himself. At least once every week, Gabe would deliver food packages to parties or functions of all kinds. There were times when the delivery drivers were given some packages for free, too. Gabe would bring two packages home, and he would bring the other packages to this orphanage as there used to be a lot more children here in the past. “Those were times when I was doing everything I could to put food on the table. My mom’s medical bills cost a lot of money, and so I appreciated every bit of opportunity that brought food onto my plate. I happened to meet Antony one day, and I thought I should help him at least once in a while to ease his nerves.”
