Chapter 3 Abigail

Theodore learned from every book in his room. Whether it is knowledge about the subjects studied in school or even other knowledge that cannot be found in the classroom,

Theodore was now lying on his stomach. He had learned too much about everything, causing some knowledge to collide. But fortunately, even if knowledge collided, it didn't hurt anything. It was just separated after that.

Theodore slowly opened his eyes after a long headache. He let out a sigh of relief before slowly compiling his knowledge.

“Awesome, I never felt I was this smart before.”

Theodore smiled. He now remembered all the knowledge he had in the textbooks. and understood that He was now considered to be one of the smartest in the room. If it's not for the room, it's for the whole class. But even if he has knowledge, it does not mean that he will be wiser in other matters. 

And while Theodore was delighted with his intelligence. After he finished compiling all his knowledge. He also found that in his head a strange knowledge had appeared.

“What knowledge is this? Where did it come from? knowledge of alchemy and how to fight. I remember that I never brought these kinds of books into the room.”

Theodore furrowed his brows together. The books he would bring in his room were all the books he needed to study in school. Oh, and there were other types of books that he would buy. It's a book about games.

A book about games!

Theodore tries to find a book about one of the RPGs he was addicted to. He had been playing for a while but couldn't continue because It was hard. So he bought a game manual. 

“No way, it’s gone.”

Theodore was sure now that he'd already absorbed it. Now he tried to pull that knowledge from his brain. He was surprised. He knew about alchemy! But why was it so bizarre?

“Why is the alchemy method so strange?”

Ingredients

1 stick of cola flavored lollipops.

1 liter of lemon juice.

2 tablespoons of salt.

5 pieces of pineapple flavored chewing gum.

500 mililiters of tomato sauce.

The things in his head about alchemy were very strange. These ingredients can be bought in convenience stores. [Strengthening Potion(S)] If he's not mistaken, it increases the character's overall abilities, strength, speed, and intelligence. except for wisdom.

Wisdom. This word really tickled Theodore's heart.

“Come on, it's from a game manual and that costs like only ten dollars. After all, it's no longer usable.

“Will it work?”

Theodore didn't know what to do. If it really works, it will change his life forever.

“Okay, there’s no harm in doing it.”

Theodore thought hard. And think of the ingredients. It wasn't that expensive. He could easily buy it.

“Fifteen cents for a cola flavored lollipop. Three dollars for lemon juice. fifty cent for salt, Three dollars for tomato sauce. twenty cents for pineapple flavored chewing gum. I have twenty dollars for snacks this week.”

Theodore picked up his wallet and counted it. He had exactly twenty dollars in his pocket. If he bought these ingredients to test, he would have about ten dollars left.

“It's only a few dollars. If compared to the chance that it is true, it is considered very cheap.”

Theodore decides he will cook it up. He would do alchemy and create potions.

Theodore, having made a decision, the first thing he had to do was to complete all his homework assignments before heading to a nearby convenience store. and bought all the ingredients with his pocket money.

Theodore headed to the convenience store after finishing his homework. He knew that he had to answer every question correctly. If he did this much, he still wouldn't get a full hundred points. He didn't know what to do.

Theodore lives with his adoptive sister in a house on the southern side of Chicago. The house wasn't that big. But it was enough for the two to coexist comfortably and with enough space.

A convenience store was not far from his house. He walked along the sidewalk for about two blocks. The shop was located right at the corner of the road. This was a convenience store where he and his sister buy things regularly.

Theodore opened the door of the convenience store as usual, with the bell ringing.

Theodore walked into the convenience store through the counter. He smiled at the young woman at the counter. She smiled back at him. The two did not know each other at all. But there was some small talk because he was a regular customer.

She was reading a magazine at the counter. During the night like this, not many customers come in. 

Theodore bought the things he had written down on a small piece of paper. All the items that he would use for alchemy... maybe?

Theodore finished shopping quickly. He still had a lot of money left over(at least for him). He should have bought something to eat during the game after he finished concocting the potion.

Whether successful or unsuccessful, he would still play the game. It is a sacred activity. And at that moment, he was choosing snacks. A blue box appeared in front of him again.

Mission: Talk to a beautiful woman.

Theodore came to this convenience store often. He met a pretty and cute lady at the counter. She doesn't seem to have a boyfriend. Why don't you invite her to talk?

Completion: Name of the beautiful woman/storage ring.

Failed: Wait for next time

Storage Ring! This was what Theodore focused on instead of a beautiful woman. It was an item in the game he was playing. That ring could hold ten things. unlimited amount or weight. It just needed to be the same thing.

Theodore swallowed his saliva. He had never really spoken to a young lady in the store before. He looked at the blue box showing the mission again. Decide whether to do it or not.

“It's embarrassing, but... but if I don't do it, I won't get the storage ring.”

Theodore recently received a mission that didn't make anyone happy. It's a mission to get to know new people and items in the game.

He thought for a moment before coming up with an answer.

“The storage ring is too important for me to let go because of embarrassment.”

Theodore mustered up his courage. before walking towards a young woman reading a magazine. He was standing in front of the counter. and looked at her face.

'Oh my god, she's so beautiful and cute when I look up close at her.'

The young lady has a pretty and cute face. She has naturally dark purple hair. Her skin was clean and clear. She has the same eye color as her hair.

Theodore didn't know, but his face flushed red. He tried to speak. But the sound didn't come out of his throat.

The young employee felt like someone was staring at her. She stopped reading her magazine and looked ahead. She saw a young man. He was a cute nerd that came here to buy things regularly. He was wearing thick glasses. Judging from his age, he was probably around seventeen years old.

The female employee smiled before speaking.

“You can put things at the counter."

The female employee knew that Theodore wanted to speak to her. But she didn't want to talk to him. So she politely cut off the script. and charge him money.

Theodore was very embarrassed. He made up for it again. Theodore let out a sigh before speaking softly.

"I just want to know the name, that's all."

It was just that his soft talk in the quiet shop was a bit loud enough for the female attendant to hear. She couldn't help but smile. The young man was more expressive than she thought. Normally, when someone wants to talk to her, they just want to flirt with her. But looking at this young man, it seemed that he really just wanted to know her name.

“All six dollars, eighty-five cents.”

Theodore took her ten dollars before she changed him. Theodore now seemed unable to complete this quest. However, as he was about to walk out of the store in a gloomy mood. The female employee spoke up.

“Hey, my name is Abigail. What's your name?"

Theodore heard her name. He smiled happily before turning to Abigail. He was very happy just to know her name.

"I'm Theodore."

Abigail smiled at Theodore. He seemed to really want to know her name. Why she knew that.

Because, Theodore, after knowing her name. He waved at her before leaving the store immediately.

Abigail only thought.

“He is a really strange young man.”

talking to the young man, briefly introducing himself. Surprisingly, Abigail didn't feel as bad as she thought. She was interested in the next time the young man came to the convenience store. What will he say to her?
