Chapter 2 Avina

Avina was feeling tired now. She worked day and night to pay off debts. Both the house rent and Theodore's tuition. 

She works in the morning as an office worker. Working in a coffee shop in the evening. 

She was a very diligent person who didn't mind working hard. But lately it seems the living expenses have become higher. 

From the economic downturn Appliances were much more expensive. Income that used to be enough to cover expenses now it's not enough

“Next week, I have to pay Theo an extra tuition fee.”

Avina breathed a sigh. She had now taken the bus back to her home. Her and Theodore's house was far from the city, making rent very affordable. She walked to the front of the house and opened the door.

“Hopefully Theo has finished cleaning the storage room. I need that room to earn more money. I wouldn't be able to do it if there were bugs and rats in that room. Fortunately he didn’t scare of them”

Just thinking about it made her hand tremble. She walked into the house and took off her outer cloth. She looked around the house. She can't see where Theodore was.

"It's weird. By now, he should be sitting in the living room watching a movie."

Avina went to pick up a glass of water and drank it to quench her thirst.

“Or is he still in the storage room? No, He is more likely to be in his room and play games.”

Avina walked up to the second floor of the house. before knocking on the door of Theodore’s room.

“Theo, come out and help me prepare dinner.”

Avina often asks Theodore to help prepare meals. This way, she can cook more easily. 

She knocked on the door, but the reply was silence.

“Hum, Is he secretly watching a video he shouldn’t have?”

Avina slowly opened the door. Hoping to make him startle. 

Watching adult videos was a normal thing for a hormonal teen age. 

She had already been through this age. She slowly opened the door to take a sneak peek at Theodore.

And as she was slowly opening the door to Theodore's room to take a peek. 

There was something poking her back.

“Ah!!!!!!!!!”

Avina screamed in shock. She hurriedly looked behind to find that Theodore was looking at her in shock as well. He was thinking, Why would she scream?

“Avina, what's wrong?.”

Avina breathed a sigh of relief. before she spoke to him.

“Theo, Why do you move so silently? What if I'm shocked and have a heart attack and die?

Upon hearing that. Theodore's face was pale. His eyes showed fear.

Avina, seeing Theodore's expression, realized that what she had said might have hit the most sensitive part of his mind.

Since the accident happened Theodore's greatest fear was losing Avina. 

He could agree not to be with her. and living her life without him as a burden.

But no matter what, He didn’t want her to be gone just like their parents did.

Before Theodore had a chance to think more of the painful memories. Avina pulled him into a tight hug before speaking and consoling him.

"It's okay, Theo, it's okay, I'm not going anywhere, don't be afraid, don't be afraid."

Theodore was relieved, his fear (phobia) gradually disappeared. Theodore's fear of losing loved ones reached the stage of what could be called a mental illness. 

He had been hospitalized for many years before his symptoms had subsided.

Theodore, after calming down, smiled at Avina and spoke.

“Avina, come this way, I have something for Avina to see.”

Theodore takes Avina to the storage room. He wanted her to see how hard he was trying. 

And when Avina arrived at her storage room, she was surprised. The storage room was very clean. It was like this room had just been used for the first time.

“Is this Theo cleaning all by himself?”

Theodore smiled proudly before speaking.

“All of it, I do clean it myself”

Avina smiled back at Theodore before hugging him tightly. To thank him for his hard work. She kissed Theodore's cheek lightly once.

“Thank you for helping me keep the storage room so clean.”

Theodore was pleased that she liked his work. He did this because he wanted her to be happy.

Theodore looked at the sign displayed. He scratched his chin. It seemed that if he wanted her to be happier he needed to work harder.

Avina then lets Theodore rest and she prepares him a favorite meal. Theodore heard that and refused.

"No, I'll help Avina cook."

Avina blinked slightly. Why was Theodore being so diligent today? 

She felt strangely happy. She saw that as a good thing, so she agreed.

Theodore had to finish his homework. Avina was smiling more than usual today. Theodore felt that she was happy.

The promise he made to her at the age of five. He will make her happy for the rest of her life.

With Theodore helping Avina to cook today. causing him to acquire cooking skills as well Even if it was a basic level, it could still be developed further.

“If I do all the homework correctly in every subject. Will she be happy like that?”

Theodore now has a fire to do his homework. 

If he did all the homework correctly. Both Avina and Jenny would be happy.

Mathematics, That evil subject Theodore had been doing his homework for about fifteen minutes. before his head  puffs out a smoke.

“No way. I am too stupid for this. How can I ever do all our homework right?”

Theodore wanted to cry out. before he tried to think of something.

“That’s right! if I don't know the answer I can just go and read a book and compare it.”

Theodore got up from his chair and headed towards his satchel. He searched for a math book before pulling it up. and as soon as he pulled it out

Theodore read the message on the sign to understand. And when he understood, he immediately chose a Yes. As soon as he chose Yes. A tenth grade math book shone brightly before lunging into Theodore's body.

Theodore felt some information pop up in his head. Theodore felt smarter. He hurriedly headed over to his study desk before immediately starting to do his homework.

Ten minutes later, he felt that the homework was very easy. He could solve equations as if he had flipped his palm.

“Excellent, next homework assignment.”

Theodore became stupid again. He could only do math homework. French language, chemistry, art, etc., he didn't understand it at all.

“Huh, You're all thinking that's going to stop Avina and Jenny's happiness? Can't forgive."

Theodore got up from his seat again before opening his satchel. Pour out all the books he had. He also went to pick up the other books he had on the bookshelf. He will learn it all.
