Liuetenant Matteo discovered something alright.

It wasn’t the weakness of the beasts, as his superiors would be expecting.

It was that the beasts wanted nothing to do with the zombies and vice versa.

While he hesitated to leave in the hope that Adam would still come out alive, he had seen some of the zombies walk out of Alagan.

The beats were lying in wait for them.

Lieutenant Matteo had thought that a solution to one of their problems was about to materialise right there.

Instead, the beasts only gave the zombies a wide berth.

Apart from snarling at them, the zombies quickly lost interest in the beasts as well.

They passed each other like they were allergic to each other.

“Damn it!” he muttered and told Pete to move.

He had only waited a while because he didn’t want to have to answer uncomfortable questions back at the shelter.

As time passed swiftly, he accepted the fact that Adam had met his death in Alagan.

The watch he gave him had a tracker.

He had told Pete to fly over the spot
