Chp 90 - The Girl He Saved

Layla was going in and out of consciousness.

Adam hoped she would not die on him before he could finally get those people off his back.

Though he had no idea how he would do that, he was hopeful.

He couldn’t come all this way to die in a self-constructed body of water!

The momentary frustration and anger propelled him and he raised his head out of the water again.

He quickly did the same with Layla’s head.

“Come on, girl, don’t die on me,” he muttered as he tried to keep her head above water while trying to swim forward.

It was a starless night and the pitch-black surroundings had worked favourably for him so far.

Still, he hated the fact that the same darkness might swallow him up soon.

The men were not relenting!

The beam of the flashlights they were using to search for him seemed to have multiplied from the last time he had surfaced.

"If only I could just get out of the water without them seeing me."
