Chapter LXIII

The captain had already left the precinct. He was following Jonas to offer any help he could. Just as he was about ten blocks from the precinct, the traffic lights at the junction turned red. He stopped in wait for the green. Someone approached his Toyota Land cruiser Prado from behind. He was dressed like one of the homeless around town. He tapped Meake’s window gently. Meake lowered to give a few coins.

The shaggy man sprayed some liquid to his face. About twenty minutes later, he came to his senses. He could not get a glimpse of his surroundings. The room was dark enough to challenge his sight. Still looking confused, he tried to turn and look around. It was then he realized he was strapped to a cold metallic chair. As he was trying to loosen the ropes around his arms and legs, “There is no need for that captain. I took enough time to ensure you are not getting away easily.” A voice at one end of the room said.

“And who are you supposed to be
