Jean and John were still at the precinct trying to figure out what could have happened. The evidence that David was the Clairvoyant was clear but they just could not come to terms with it without concrete proof. Finally, they had a way to go about proving the theory.
Since Matthew had the footages of David committing the murder and taking credit for shooting Jean, they decided to start there. If they were to truly know who the Clairvoyant was, they needed to identify the David on those footages.
Without much ado, they called Matthew to the precinct to begin work on their newly found mission. Matthew could not leave without Ruddick. He gave Ruddick a call notifying him of the development. Ruddick was not far from his office, the morgue, and therefore requested Matthew to wait for him so that they could go together.
Be that as it may, Ruddick was not after going to the precinct in the company of Matthew as much as he was to deliver David’s message. Not long
Peterson and David were already at the lair. Each of them had doubts about the other to clear. The lair was the best place to have the talk without having to look over their shoulders. First, Peterson needed to be sure that, David was not the Clairvoyant. He may have known him to be a good person but being dishonorably discharged from the army does that good no better.David too had his worries; Peterson trained them back at the camp. More so, he was very quick in accepting his request for help. He also happened to be the only other person that knew so much about David. Before his being accused of shooting the president, that did not mean so much. Now, Peterson had even found out about his meet with Ruddick. That needed to be clarified if they were to work together. After a very investigative dialogue between the two, they almost got to believe each other’s story to the outcome of working together as usual. Just as they were trying to go about how David would cod
The following morning, everybody was present at the precinct to work on the double homicide. This time, the two bodies were not taken to the KCTRH morgue but remained at the KCP precinct forensics lab for the autopsy and fast reference. The case was growing bigger by the day and the last thing they needed was to waste time driving to the KCTRH morgue for results, or, Ruddick doing the same just to give a report. They also wanted to minimize on the telephone communications as much as possible with David out there and after what had happened to Morris and his girlfriend. Even Peterson was present that morning. The only missing person was their current suspect, David. As they waited for reports from Ruddick, Matthew too was trying to follow any possible lead they could get to solve the case. The others as well did not just stay. They also had theories that only needed a word from Matthew or Ruddick to confirm. Apart from David being the Clairvoyant, they suspected that, h
That evening, as Jean was heading home, she bumped into Paul at the elevators. Jean was a very beautiful determined young woman and did not seem to have any commitments to anyone other than her job, badge and service weapon. Paul had discovered that and wanted a shot at snatching a part of her away from them for himself. The elevator was the perfect moment Paul was waiting for a chance to ask Jean out. After a while of dialogue, Jean did not seem to share in his views. His Denzel looks did not seem to have an effect on her as well. She seemed attracted to someone else who she did not have to mention to him. Her dismissal of the request for a night in the company of ‘Denzel’ was proof of the fact.Through the night, Matthew could not afford the luxury of sleep. The footages were bothering him so much and he needed answers. It was at that moment that a thought came to his mind. Still with the aim of clearing David of all accusations of being Clairvoyant, he d
Shortly, they arrived at the precinct. Every other member of the task force joined them for the briefing. It was time for Jean and Claire to share what they had gathered from Jones’ wife Sarah.“We have found out that, as of last year, Jones was diagnosed of a brain tumor. Being the director of the CPSD, such information reaching the agency could ruin his career. He and his wife Sarah decided to keep it secret as he underwent medication until he met a backstreet doctor who was willing to enroll him in a drug trial for the same. According to his wife, they got lucky and the trial drug worked miracles curing Jones fully. We inquired to know more about this doctor and the drug trial. Unfortunately, Sarah confirmed that, the clinic which went by the name Kibich Nonpareil Medical Clinic was closed just a few days to the assassination attempt that led to the death of her husband Jones,” Claire explained.“Do you want to mean that, the clinic’s s
“Honestly, I am still lost,” Matthew pronounced.“That makes two of us,” Meake seconded.“Make that three,” Peterson declared.Jean continued, “Alright, before we get to make that six, let’s just ask ourselves one question,” Meake interrupted, “Which is what detective?” he asked.“I was going to that captain…which is the question of what’s the common thing in all this from the beginning to this moment?” Jean enquired.“Seriously, how many times are we going to ask ourselves that question?” Jonas probed.“I guess as many as possible until we get what we are looking for…or…should it be who we are looking for,” Claire answered.“Forgive my asking but, where are you going with this detective?” Meake asked.“What I mean is, maybe the Clairvoyant has always been steps ahead of us bec
As the team prepared to break for the rest of the day, and, the two nerds got ready to spend the rest of the day working on making ends meet, Claire too decided to make the best for her evening plans.“Hey, Jonas…I need you to do me a favor,” Claire said to Jonas.“My ears are all yours. Just ask and maybe, it shall be done,” Jonas responded.“Well…there is this new recipe I have been working on and I need someone to taste-test the meal. I hope you wouldn’t mind if I asked you to be that person tonight?” Claire continued.“Of course I wouldn’t mind but, you could have just accepted. It could have worked too,” Jonas replied.“Accepted what Jonas? I do not know what you are talking about,” Claire claimed.“Of course you know what I am talking about. I remember the last time you asked me out for coffee, I did ask you out as well,” Jonas said.<
Just as they were about to leave, Juliet, Monica’s workmate and friend visited the precinct. She had something for them to look at. It had been quite some time since Morris was murdered but she had just received a weird text message to her phone that morning. As awkward as that was, she had to have the team have a look at it and maybe, give her answers on why it had happened.“Hey…Juliet…right? You are Monica’s friend…we were with you at the cabin looking for them,” Jean asked her.“Yes I am,” Juliet replied.“What are you doing here and how may we be of help?” Claire asked.“I just received this some minutes ago and could not think of anywhere else to go for answers,” Juliet said handing them her phone.Claire and Jean took the phone to have a look. After they read the text, Jean had a question.“Is this text supposed to mean something or why did you have
The documents also revealed the source of his payments. It turned out that, someone was paying him to erase all the digital tracks leading to the mysteriously shutdown backstreet clinic. It stated clearly the relationship between the clinic and Project Red Storm. Besides, it pointed out that, the trial drug that cured both Jones and Anderson’s wife was of unknown origin. When Morris found out about Project Red Storm and the anomalies in the drug used for the trials, he decided to dig deeper and get facts. This was about the same time that he was murdered and his computer at the CIBSC was wiped out clean to erase any evidence of the operations or anything about the drug trials and Operation Red Storm. They also came to find out that, when he took a requested leave for a week at the cabin with his girlfriend, he just wanted to buy enough time off the grid to get them means out of the country as fast as possible. From that moment on, they were able to answer the que
