CHAPTER 6

"Ah, Victor," Dorothy said, her voice laced with a mix of relief and wariness. "I wasn't expecting you so soon."

Victor, a ruthless and cunning businessman, was Dorothy's secret partner and financier. He had a reputation for getting what he wanted, no matter the cost.

"I heard rumors of a little protest," Victor said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I thought it was time to... meditate."

Dorothy's eyes narrowed, sensing the danger that lurked beneath Victor's polished exterior. She knew she had to tread carefully or risk losing everything she had worked for.

As Victor strode into the building, the protesters parted, their eyes fixed on him with a mix of fear and suspicion. Alex, however, stood firm, his gaze locked on Victor with a fierce determination.

"You're not welcome here," Alex said, his voice firm.

Victor chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I think I am. You see, I have a... vested interest in this company. And I won't let anyone stand in my way."

His words splashed across all and sent ominous warnings, his presence casting a dark shadow over the already tense situation.

Victor's eyes locked onto Alex, his gaze piercing and unsettling. "You're the one who's been causing all the trouble, I presume?" he said, his voice dripping with disdain.

Alex stood firm, his eyes never leaving Victor's face. "I'm just seeking justice for the families you and Dorothy have hurt," he replied, his voice steady.

Victor snorted, his expression mocking. "Justice? Ha! You're just a naive little boy playing with fire. You have no idea what you're up against."

Dorothy's eyes flashed with anger, but she remained silent, her gaze fixed on Victor with a calculating intensity. She knew she had to play this carefully or risk losing everything.

Victor turned to her, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "Dorothy, my dear, I think it's time we took control of this situation. Don't you agree?"

Dorothy's smile was cold and calculating. "Oh, I think that's a wonderful idea, Victor. Let's show them all what we're capable of."

As Victor and Dorothy began to confer, their voices hushed and urgent, Alex's eyes never left them. He knew he had to act fast, to expose their secrets before it was too late.

But just as he turned to leave, he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was one of the protesters, a young woman, Maya, with a determined look in her eyes.

"Alex, we need to get out of here, now," she whispered urgently. "We've got something big, something that will bring them down once and for all."

Alex's eyes lit up with hope. Could this be the break they needed? He nodded, and together they slipped away, unnoticed by the guards.

As they emerged into the bright sunlight, Alex's phone rang. It was an unknown number, but he knew exactly who it was.

"Hello, Alex," a voice said, its tone dripping with menace. "You're playing with fire, and you're going to get burned."

The line went dead, and Alex's heart raced with fear. He knew he had to move fast, to uncover the secrets before it was too late.

As Alex and the protester, Maya delved deeper into the secrets of Wallace Investment and Properties, they began to uncover a web of corruption and deceit that went far beyond what they had imagined. They discovered that Victor and Dorothy's grip on power was not just limited to their company, but had infiltrated the highest echelons of government and law enforcement.

The more they dug, the more they realized that the system was rigged against them. The powerful and corrupt had a stranglehold on the truth, and anyone who dared to challenge them was silenced or destroyed.

Maya, a fierce and determined activist, was not one to back down. She had lost her family to the greed and neglect of companies like Wallace Investment and Properties, and she was determined to make them pay.

"We can't just sit back and let them get away with this," she said to Alex, her eyes blazing with conviction. "We have to take a stand, no matter the cost."

Alex nodded, his mind racing with the implications. He knew that taking on the powerful and corrupt would be dangerous, but he also knew that it was the only way to bring about change.
