Chapter 107

The lights flashed across his eyes as he slipped in and out of consciousness. James could hear the distant voices yelling and arguing. The sounds of beeping machines whirring.

He could hear the voices but could not make out what they were saying. His vision was blurry and his head continued to hurt. The pain was still too much for him to bear until he couldn't bear it anymore. He gave in to the dizziness that was bearing down on him.

By the time he opened his eyes again, he was in a strange room, lying in the bed. He could tell it was a hospital room, but he could not remember what had caused him to get there, or how he had gotten there in the first place.

The door opened and Sarah walked into the room. Her face was ashen as though the blood had drained completely from it.

She let out a deep sigh and pressed her hand to the door handle, as though bracing herself for something extremely difficult.
