Chapter 124

James rushed into the hospital where the General's wife had been pulled in for labor. He knew he had to make sure the General was okay. It was already one week before the Inauguration ceremony.

In just a few days, the General would be retired. Why anyone would want to take him now was still ambiguous to James.

The head doctor walked into the reception with gloves on his hand. He looked perturbed. James walked up to him.

"Doctor. How is she?" He asked bearing down on the average-height man who was older in age and wore lenses over his blue nose mask.

"Who are you?" The Doctor asked, but when he spotted James's camouflage pants, he immediately clammed his mouth shut.

"Are you the General's second in command?" He adjusted his question.

"Yes, I am," James replied.

"Come with me." The Doctor said. They stood outside the operation room where the General's wife laid on a table with her open and some nurses attended to her.
