Reynolds could feel the air getting tighter. Even though the capital he was guarding had a sun sphere surrounding it, he could feel the chill. He did not fully understand what was happening, and why the world was suddenly freezing up, but Reynolds knew that there was more to it.So, as he watched the sun sphere from the top of a balcony situated centrally in the capital, he tried to imagine what would be going on in the palace at that moment. The battle started from there, so, it made sense that it was mostly concentrated there as well. He had tried to find ways to reach out to the palace but he could not. Reynolds watched as the man approached the sun sphere. The rest of the guards looked at him with uncertainty, and some of them thought that he would perhaps drag the man back as soon as the man was getting too close to the sphere. But Reynolds did no such thing. He just kept watching, and the man kept walking.Collin who had seen what was happening rushed towards Reynolds. He could see the intent on Reynolds'face and he knew that whenever his brother was like that, nothing could change his mind when he had decided on something. The first thing that Vera heard was the guttural growl followed by the clicking. She froze there, thinking about what sort of animal could possibly make such a noise. Vera felt her anxiety increase but she did not show it. She had to maintain a calm composure. The fate of her guards depended on it.Then, she saw something move in a blur. She could not figure out what it was exactly but it was there, and it was watching. She took a step back and helped some of the people cross into the dome, and then, she saw another blur."We have company. Vera watched as Reynolds slept calmly on the bed. She could observe the way his chest heaved up and down, and she had never been any more grateful than she was at that moment.
