There was darkness spreading over the capital. The snowstorm was blowing harder than it had been before and the dome flickered while the storm blew.

Alastair and Miranda dashed outside to behold what was happening. There were several other guards standing in awe by that time. They looked as the darkness kept spreading and each of them grabbed their Weapons tighter.

Kevin showed up behind Drax and stood far away from the others. He watched the whole thing and said nothing in the process. He was not even interested in what was happening, and so, he turned around and walked out of the scene.

"What is happening?" Miranda asked as she kept looking. The energy from the dome flickered like it was rebounding something.

"He is trying to break the dome. He wants to freeze it." Alastair responded to Miranda. She gasped softly as he said the words and confirmed her fears. Miranda quickly took Alastair's hand and squeezed it.

"But he cannot do it, right? The sun sphere is pure sun energy. Freezing it is like freezing the sun. Is it possible to freeze the sun?" Elle asked no one in particular, but at that point, Alastair was not sure what impossible meant.

If he was ever told that Cara could be defeated that swiftly, he never would have believed it. If he was told that his dragon would die like that, he would have laughed because everyone knew how durable dragons are. But there he was, gazing at the horror that was about to get unleashed.

"He cannot break through the sun sphere. I am certain of it." Drax said to Elle. Alastair turned around and looked at him.

"How do you know so?" He asked.

"I-my dragon told me. He said that the sun sphere was harnessed by the gods millions of years ago and contains pure sun essence. The sun was created to be the only thing that cannot be extinguished. But the sun spheres, like say turning into the night is capable of wearing out after some time.

No matter what Corvius tries, he cannot break through the sun sphere unless you allow him to do so." Drax said to Alastair.

Alastair understood what he meant. As the mage that cast the spell, he alone had the ability to modify it to his preference. He wondered how the rest of the kingdom was faring. Were they able to make use of the clones he sent out?

"We need to check up on the Kingdom. If this is happening here, then they are in danger. I need to be out there protecting them. I do not want to lose my people. What kind of a queen will I be if I lose my people?" Miranda began to panic.

Alastair turned to her.

"Do not worry. I will reach out to them now. But you know you cannot leave the capital. Corvius is waiting for you to do that but you will not do that, will you? I will reach out to them now."

Alastair then turned to a guard.

"Send for the telepath Zora," he ordered and the guard dashed inside. He soon returned with a petite girl whose dark hair was plaited into a single lock. She bowed before Alastair and Miranda.

"You sent for me, High Mage?"

"I need you to locate Reynolds," Alastair said to her. She was not so certain about the request.

"But, I cannot reach someone that far. My powers have limits. I'm sorry, High Mage." She said but Alastair exhaled.

"I will give you a boost..." Alastair said to her.

"Alastair!" Elle objected.

"I will amplify your magic by giving you some of my energy. I can do it as a dragon lord. Will you be able to find him then?"

"I-I suppose so if he's still alive," Zora replied.

"Alastair, you already gave too much. This might cause severe damage to your body. Do you really want to risk it?" Elle asked him.

"The queen needs to be certain her people are safe," Alastair replied to her and she raised her hands defeated. She knew how stubborn Alastair was.

"Ready?" Alastair asked Zora who nodded. Then he touched her with his glowing hand and she took a deep breath in as the energy flowed into her.

Alastair bit his lower lip as he began to feel intense pain from the process, but he did not stop. Zora exhaled while shuddering, and suddenly, her eyes turned white.

"Zora...Zora, what do you see?" Miranda asked her.

"I see winter through the eyes of a child. It's spreading." Zora responded.

"What else do you see? Can you see a sun sphere?" Drax asked. He needed to be direct for he knew Alastair had sent some out. Alastair was too pressured to even ask the questions by himself.

"Yes. I can see a sun sphere. It's covering the town where the child is. He is safe. There are other children here, and some adults. I see blood everywhere, but they are safe. I see some soldiers, and I see some mages-Elderien mages."

"Speak to a mage," Miranda commanded.

Zora grunted for some time while others looked at her and Alastair. He was beginning to bleed out from his nose and ears, and his eyes were red. Zora continued to grunt while the others watched in confusion.

"What's going on?" Miranda asked.

"Her powers have stretched beyond their natural limits. This will kill her if we continue. We must abort now." Elle said to Miranda.

"Abort. Abort now!" Miranda commanded and Alastair let go of Zora.

Zora gasped as she fell to the ground and passed out. Alastair staggered back, eyes red with wounded blood vessels, nose bleeding, and ears dripping blood. Miranda looked at how bloody things had become.

She took a look at the sphere and the darkness still hovered.

"We need to rally the soldiers. We need to be ready just in case they breach the sun sphere eventually. Now I am at peace knowing that the people are safe. We need to make plans." Miranda said and looked around for Kevin but she could not see him.

Alastair saw the worry in her eyes and as Elle attended to him, he brainstormed within himself to see if there was something he could do to make it all better. He wanted to do something to stop Corvius, but what could he possibly do?

Alastair was confused, and as lightning struck the dome, he wondered if this terror was the end of Elderien.

Alastair asked Drax."I never knew him. I never even met him once. My mother said he didn't want us when she was pregnant, so she had to leave." Drax responded and took a glance at Cara when she breathed deeply."Did she tell you she was from here?"
