CHAPTER 14: THE SNAKE
The knife hit the toad's head mercilessly and it screeched weakly before its eyes closed and without doubt, it was dead.

Kabbus stared at it for a while, trying to make sure he wouldn't make any mistake and when he saw that other than its blood, nothing else was moving, he decided to move closer to it. "I've got to take whatever I want to take from it now or I might attract the attention of that snake again," Kabbus said to himself as he made his way toward the toad.

He bent down in front of the toad, staring at the enormous body while wondering how he was supposed to drink from such an ugly thing. He had a look of disgust on his face and if not for the fact that he had no idea when he might leave the forest and when next he would be able to take blood, he would have preferred to just walk away and never look back at the ugly toad anymore.

He continued staring, thinking of ways to take the blood without using his teeth and that was when his eyes met the large gash on the toad'
