Chapter 10 - The death of King Whune

I was in my house when Hermosa walked in and started narrating everything she has been going through in the palace.

At first I didn’t want to believe it when I heard it from some people in the kingdom that King Whune doesn’t go out with Hermosa after she put to bed, that maybe she was not feeling fine or her delivery was complicated, some said that King Whune was hiding Hermosa because she maybe sick while others insisted that she may not be outspoken so King Whune hide her to cover his shame.

I thought there was something or complications in the birth process that he was trying to hide from the public including I because I have not seen Hermosa after her delivery but I did not bother because I know of a truth that if anything was not right, I will be one of the first they will communicate too, so I decided not to ask because I know King Whune will eventually tell me when he needs my help if it’s really that serious but if it is not then let them handle it, moreover, they are grown adults.

But hearing all this from Hermosa herself, I now believe what I have been hearing about how King Whune never loved Hermosa but married her because of her beauty and was too jealous not to let another man have her to himself and for Doris, Hermosa’s elder sister, I cannot believe she could do this to her own blood, if she could do this to her own blood, what more could she not do?

No wonder she has refused to visit me all this time she got married, she had an evil agenda for her own blood sister Hermosa, especially after she put to bed, she never visited nor even send greetings. She now have the King in the tips of her finger and she may even be planning to kill her sister Hermosa just for her daughter to be the next ruling queen of the Kingdom who knows, as her son is already the rightful heir to the throne of Khah’s Kingdom and the King Whune Second, I have always suspected her, she is so cunning from childhood that’s why everyone loved Hermosa and little or nothing is been said about her.

I must do something fast before we’ll ignorantly watch everything we have built for years be a waste of time. All the proper planning and set ups with my late sister, the wife to King Khah cannot be for nothing.

I had a lot of plans on what to do to Doris and King Whune but I do not want it to look like I am too forward so I asked Hermosa what she was planning to do but her responses gave me a shock to my spine because I never believed she hated her sister and the King to this extent. Her response to my question made me relieve because that was exactly what I wanted but I do not know how to put it in her face but now she have suggested it to me, I will follow it up as if it her idea but unknowing to her it is all my idea playing out.

Are you sure Hermosa that you want to eliminate your husband King Whune and also your only blood sister Queen Doris just because of this little issue? Is that not too extreme for a situation like this?

I made sure I make it look like it is all her idea, so I told her that I have a plan, I suggested we send an assassin to do the job for us, she accepted my proposal and asked me, how are we going to do it?

I told her to look for a group of professional ghost assassins outside Khah’s Kingdom who are good in executing their duties, that she should tell them to attack the king and his wife Doris on their way to Spain and they should make sure no one sees them nor notice their presence and departure and they should make sure the bodies are unrecognizable because we do not want them recovering from the attack, because if they do, that will be a different story all together that we would not be ready for. I also told her that their heads should be butchered and grinded so that no one will be able to differentiate between the king, queen Doris, the guards, male servants, and female servants and there should be no survivors at all.

She accepted to follow my description and advise, so we promised to keep everything we discussed as a secret and never to let a third party know anything about our plans even in the succession and successful execution of the plan.

After that, she left and went back to the palace that same night, as she left I was tempted to inform my brother Chief Mosan but on the other land I refused because I know my brother, that no matter what the situation might be, he would not want anything to happen to any of his daughters, he will prefer talking things out than taking actions, I have known him for as long as I have lives, so telling him was not a good idea.

I remember when I and my brother Chief Mosan were young men, we went for swimming in the blue sea which was outside the kingdom borders which no one was ever allowed to go to, we were all advised not to cross the Khah’s Kingdom border talk more of swimming in the blue sea but I and my brother decided that day to go and see why everyone was asked not to go outside the border talk more of entering the blue sea, we went and swimmed but nothing happened to us but unknown to us our father saw us going out but did not know where we were going to, so as we came back he started asking us where we were coming from.

I was already expecting such question from someone as we get to the house even though not from my father anyways, so I told my brother Chief Mosan to not say a word if we are asked where we were coming from, that I will do the answer and if the person questioning us gets suspicious and asks him to talk, he should repeat what I have said no matter how many times he was asked.

As we got home, my father started questioning as, we were almost successful in our plans when Chief Mosan blow the whole thing up, he told my father every single thing I asked him not to say and my father was not happy with me even though he flogged both of us but he made me a lier in front of my own father, so since that day I realized he was always this straight forward man, and Doris his first daughter inherited his straightforwardness and intelligence from him.

After thinking for over an hour, smiling to the memories I had with my brother Chief Mosan as we were growing up, I was filled with uncontrollable joy as I walked gently to my room and lay down facing the roof smiling sheepishly as I turn my head and in no time, I slept off.

Queen Hermosa sneaked out of the kingdom at night the next day and went to a nearby village, she contacted a group of ghost assassins to assassinate her husband and her sister queen Doris.

We call them ghost assassins because there are so good at what they do that you will never see them coming nor going after executing their duties, they were one of the best in the whole region.

After Hermosa explained to them what they are to do, they did not ask her questions and why she wanted to kill her own husband the king and sister because that was not part of their job, she told them everything about the job she has for them and what she wants them to do, she was specific on how she want it to be carried out and executed perfectly.

The job is to kill the king, Queen Doris his wife and everyone that will be with him on the day of his travel to Spain for an important meeting with the leaders of other kingdoms and the top influential business partners from all over the world, she said she got the information about the kings travel to Spain from a reliable source who she lured to become a close friend to Clara her sisters only daughter.
