THE FUTURE IS BEHIND.

Chapter 13 - THE COMMITTAL

They went to where the bodies were still laying and wasn’t able to decide which body belongs to whom and whether the king and queen Doris was there or not but someone confirmed that King Whune was part of the ones that were slaughtered as they saw his golden bracelets and the queen’s golden ring which he purposefully left on the cart that the guards were on as they parted ways because he knows if anything should happen that was the only proof that he was part of the predicament.

The elders after seeing the kings golden bracelets and the queen’s golden ring which they have never putin off from the day they got married came to a conclusion that King Whune and his wife Queen Doris were dead and their carcasses were also on the floor with the other guards and maids, so they gathered the bodies and carcasses together, packed them into a truck and took the carcasses and everything they could find that has blood stains on them back to Khah’s palace for the official committal.

When they got to the palace, the elders refused anyone from looking at the bodies and carcasses including the royal family as it was their tradition and custom.

They decided to let the carcasses stay in the king chambers for the night as it is only in war that they bury their own in the night but they decided to do the committal in the morning as a sign of respect for the king and his wife Queen Doris and also for every guard, male and female servants that lost their lives that same day, by so doing, it will buy them more time to allow the families of this guards and maids see their bodies for the last time and also allow the royal family like Prince Selem, Princess Clara, and Prince Wgheneo to see the kings body and his wife Doris’ body for the last time and give them the opportunity to bid them fare ware before burying them.

After the announcement of this decision by the elders of Khah’s Kingdom, everyone left to their different homes that night bittered except the elders who were making sure the corpses were properly protected.

Hermosa’s father and uncle called Selem, Wgheneo and Clara and told them about the unfortunately accident that have befallen their father and also gave them few words of encouragement that will help them get by with the pain of losing their only father and for Wgheneo and Clara their mother.

When Clara and her brother Wgheneo heard it, they cried bitterly and sobs, Clara was saying inside of her ‘I told them that something was not right, I told them but they did not listen to me, they told me they will find a way to handle everything that I should not worry but it has already happened and nobody can even explain what happened except for me and my brother’.

As they cried something was telling them inside that their parents were alive, they were not feeling the emptiness that they heard about that people feel when they lose someone they truly love and that is close to them, they had this peace that their parents were alive even though they could not proof it even to themselves but they peace continued to increase as if their parents will soon return and everything will just be find.

Queen Hermosa smiled in the inside knowing that her husband and her sister Queen Doris has been cleared from her way of making her son the next king of Khah’s Kingdom, she looked at her uncle who blink at her and they left Wgheneo and Clara to continue their crying and left.

Queen Hermosa’s father sobbed as he watched Wgheneo and Clara his grand-daughters cry, she went close to them and hugged both of them and reassure them that they have him as a father even though he cannot replace their biological father but he will do his best to make sure they never lack anything no miss their father King Whune.

Prince Selem on the other hand looked up at his mother, he was sure this was the handwork of his mum, he cried because he will miss his father but was shocked on how his mother hated his father and her sister Queen Doris to the point of using him to kill them, so even though he slightly hated his father, he thought this was too extreme and improper, so he hated his mother for that single act from that day and hated himself for the fact that he has stained his hands with blood and not any kind of blood but his own father’s blood.

He lost every good human in him and decides to be wicked, as that is what his mother wanted from him, that he will give her exactly what she needs.

He was almost tempted to ask his mother in front of everyone but the more he looked at her, he wept bitterly and with the way he was crying Clara discovered that he wasn’t part of the plan to kill her parents that much, all he did was to get the information about their next travel which she gave out to him herself but she knew he hated her mother and father King Whune for a reason she couldn’t figure out which she was eager to find out but not today she said to herself.

Clara looked at her brother Wgheneo who seemed to have noticed same thing she noticed, as she have been sharing her experiences with Prince Selem with her brother but he gave her a sign of do not say anything nor do anything, let us watch what will happen after the burial of our parents. Wgheneo stood up and went close to Clara and hugged her and told her to be strong, that they will walk over everything together, that he will be a father to her and he promised her that he will make sure the person that planned this execution against his own father King Whune will pay with his blood as he brought out the purple crystal that was given to him by King Whune his father on his birthday when he was young and he swear with the purple crystal, that was when Queen Hermosa, her uncle and Prince Selem knew that Prince Wgheneo meant every single thing he said that night with tears on his eyes.

They knew immediately that they were in danger that they need to plan fast to get out of before he finds out and start making plans, it is better they suppress him before he raises his head to rebel against them.
