THE FUTURE IS BEHIND.

Chapter 14 - THE KING’S BURIAL

The next day, everyone in the kingdom and visitors from all over the world gathered together for the memorial of the king’s death and to pay their last respect to King Whune and Queen Doris before their burial and memorial of every other person that died with him that day.

King Whune and Queen Doris heard about their supposed death and burial. King Whune and Queen Doris was shocked when they heard the news and King Whune now realized that this was the actual plot by his second wife Queen Hermosa, her son Prince Selem and others that he do not know yet but will soon find out.

King Whune told his wife that he will be attending his own burial and memorial service which made her a little bit uncomfortable but with a lot of persuasion she allowed him go but she Queen Doris refused to attend, as she said she cannot stand attending her own funeral while she is still alive, so the king covered himself with cloths so that he’ll not be recognized by anyone and he went into Khah’s Kingdom as a foreigner but it was obvious no one recognized him as everyone were busying mourning and paying their last respect to the dead King Whune, Queen Doris and every other person that died that day with them.

King Whune stood afar off watching his own burial been processed and he felt pieced in his heart with a sword a he watched his uncle and his second wife Queen Hermosa say sweet things at his funeral that he had never heard since he married her and so many lies she told so that people will believe she loved her husband King Whune and he wished he could jump out of the crowd and shout ‘you are lying’ but he knew that will be a big mistake as the whole enemies have not been revealed and it will be an advantage to them when he come out without a proof of whatever he was going to say and the families of the guards and servants would not be happy with him as they will calm, even though he knew why don’t he stop the whole attack but now he has saved himself and destroyed their own sons and daughters that served the royal family with sincerity and love, after considering all this, he gave up and decide to continue watching like others, as he wanted to move to another location where he can have a closer view of what was happening as the crowed were much when a young man in his twenties walked up to him from behind and asked him, your highness, I thought you were dead, wow, I really like your style, how you just resurrected from the dead in two days, that is really dupe and you even have the mind to attend your own burial. I have been wishing to God to give me this same grace to be able to attend my own burial but it has never happened but here we are with a resurrected King standing by me.

Your highness, so you are aware of the plot to kill you and Queen Doris right? and you are here in disguise just to watch your own burial, wow! I really admire your secretive personality and wisdom. No wonder you were made the king of Khah’s Kingdom but why didn’t you tell us what was happening, at least give us the chance to prepare for a fare fight but no, they are all dead because of you and here you are standing.

King Whune was shocked to see that someone recognized him even though he tried to cover his entire body and he was relieved as he turned sharply when he discovered it was his chief guard and right hand man guard Phen that also went to the trip with them but was surprised he was still alive. So he took his hands and dragged him out of the crowd to a secret place and asked him what had happened on their way to Spain and how he managed to escape being the only one alive.

The guard told him everything that happened and how they were ambushed and murdered like animals. The king asked him whether he recognized any of the assassins but he said No! Because they were masked but he remembered where he first saw a mask like that. He said the mask was like the one he saw at uncle HEI-RAN’s compound at the day of his ceremony after he went to the rest room that night. As he was coming out he saw a man holding a mask like the one the assassins were putting on.

So, my uncle is part of this plan to kill me and my wife…but why? Everything started becoming clear to him at the moment.

They discussed for a while and Guard Phen asked him where he was hiding and he refused to tell him saying it was for his own safety, as they moment anyone finds out where they are, Queen Hermosa will start hunting them again and with everybody thinking they are dead, it will be easier to find them and finally kill them.

The king asked the guard never to tell anyone nor Queen Hermosa he was still alive and the guard promised not to say a word to anyone and the king left to Evive Kingdom where him and his wife Queen Doris were hiding.

Evive kingdom is the smallest kingdom in the entire east and was never or hardly visited by Khah’s people because of their lack of productivity and advancement.

King Whune preferred staying there as it was one of the safest place and the less suspicious kingdom, even if his wife queen Hermosa wants to search the kingdoms and verify whether he’s still alive, Evive Kingdom will be the least on her mind because King Whune have never talked about it and probably nobody likes that kingdom. So it became a safe place for them to reside and start life all over again for the main time, King Whune’s intentions after leaving Khah’s Kingdom was to build his own army as he was going to come back to Khah’s Kingdom but after all his enemies have been fully revealed.
