Chapter 7

Anna walked close to the crowd in a hut for climbers to rest, but now the hut is closed by police lines. Anna showed her identification to a police officer standing in front of the police safety line to show that she was a detective.

Anna walks in with Suho while wearing gloves for safety. Their whereabouts were immediately known to captain Steven who immediately confronted Anna.

"Why are you here?" Steven asked with a face that seemed to hold back his anger.

"Captain, I must also join this investigation." Anna said.

"Suho! I told you, don't let him come to this place." he said firmly.

"I'm sorry," said Suho.

"Don't blame Suho. I insisted on coming, captain." Anna said, trying to plead Suho.

"Suho! Get him back to the hospital quickly!" Steven ordered firmly.

Suho is in a confusing position. He couldn't resist the captain's orders but he couldn't force Anna to leave as the captain ordered. Anna's very stubborn nature left Suho unable to do much to prevent Anna.

Steven begins to walk away—Anna tries to follow him.

"Captain!! Allow me to investigate the case, please. I see the culprit, he's not a human being. Captain …!" said Anna trying to persuade.

"Get out of here right now! Get out!"

Steven yells make everyone around him confused, as does Anna who is surprised to hear captain Steven

Steven's look on his face can't help his patience with Anna, who is stubborn and doesn't understand the situation that has already compromised himself. Steven immediately stops her step suddenly—turns to surprise Anna—stop her step.

Anna was silent when she noticed Steven's angry look on her face. But he couldn't let go of the case when he witnessed the murder that night. There was guilt and responsibility for making him unwilling to surrender despite threatening his life.

"Do you realize what you're doing right now?" Steven asked.

"But captain ..."

Steven immediately denied Anna's words firmly.

"You almost got killed because of your stubbornness! You almost fell victim to your attitude of always doing it alone. Now you still want to join this investigation?!" Steven asked, raising his voice to make the atmosphere around them tense.

Everyone there was silent about Anna and Steven's quarrel. They seem to be unable to move when they see Anna being snapped in front of many eyes.

Anna could only stand still—feeling unjustly treated differently just because she was a woman who was still seen next to her. She also wants to prove that she's not a weak woman and can solve this murder case.

On the other hand, Howl stands from a distance looking at a slightly tense scene. A crime scene is a murder where a lot of police officers are around.

"So that stupid woman?"

The surrounding residents and mountain climbers stopped to see what had happened in the hut. Curiosity lured them to the scene of a young woman's murder. Moreover, the cases that have occurred in the last 6 months have been so disturbing to Koreans. The police still can't determine the perpetrator who killed seven innocent civilians. It causes anxiety and fear, especially for young women.

The man wearing a black robe with a black wide-brimmed hat, stands next to Howl. They're right behind a crowd of people looking at the crime scene.

Their eyes only focus on a woman who has just been humiliated in front of many eyes. The woman they saw was Anna who looked so gloomy with her still pale face.

"Are you sure he can penetrate the Ever-After room? She looks like a useless human being."

"I don't understand either. She's very noisy." Howl said.

"Look! How creepy that guy is,"

Howl can only breathe. Strangely, she was worried about seeing Anna being treated unkindly by the man.

"Now you go! You're in the family on this case! Get out of here!" snapped Steven, who then left Anna.

Suho immediately approached Anna—throwing her shoulders with guilt, "Let's go, senior …" asked Suho.

"No, it's not. You stay here. I went alone. Relax this time I'll really listen to the captain." Anna said trying to convince Suho not to follow him away.

Anna still can't accept herself being snapped and humiliated in front of many people. She's not entirely guilty, she just wants totality for this murder case and just wants to catch the culprit. But why is he out of sight like she's just a burden on the team. She also worked hard for the team.

Suddenly, however, Howl's eyes meet Anna, who looks surprised to see her whereabouts.

"Huh!! Wait! That's it! The man!

Anna hastened to chase the mysterious man behind the crowd, crossing the police line so that no one would arrive at the scene of the crime.

"It seems like she's aware of you, so I'll go first."

The man in the black robe disappeared in a moment, and Howl chose to leave the crowd.

Anna panicked because the man disappeared in a moment. Her eyes tried to browse around filled with towering trees.

"Are you looking for me?"

With a man's voice coming from behind her, Anna was surprised to turn her body around.

A handsome man who wears clothes like a human being stands before him.

"Damn it! Why did you suddenly appear in the back! Ah! It's not time to be surprised, I have something to talk to you about!" Anna said while pulling the man's arm.

"Not here,"

"What's wrong with that?"

"There are too many people here, I don't like people! Come with me …!"

The man immediately pulled Anna's hand by force. Anna couldn't resist. Even though she's currently investigating a death case with his colleagues. But the mysterious man immediately took her away.

In a place that feels so mystical that it spreads all over the room. This place is so quiet and clean, but Anna feels goosebumps several times while sitting on a wooden bench by the window facing a man whose name is still unknown.

The man seemed busy brewing tea in the traditional way. His fingers were so lentic and long as they were never used. It's not like his hands are full of wounds and feel rough.

"What is this place?" Anna asked, breaking the silence.

"My favorite place."

"That's not the answer I want to hear. I mean what is this place? Why is it so quiet? I've never come to a place like this. Is this the cafe?" asked Anna, once again making sure by browsing every corner of the room.

Anna realized the sound of a calm stream of water and the gurgling of wind—driven glass bells.

"Of course you'll never find this place."

The man's answer again confused Anna. But she looked so calm while giving her a cup of hot tea.

"This is a place for spirits,"
