Constantine woke up with a yawn, his body cracking in places he didn't think could make that kind of sound as he stretched and his eyes brimming with an alertness that shouldn't have been present in the eyes of someone who had just woken up.

The sun cast it's rays on the walls of his apartment and he could feel the heat those rays gave off.

The sky was awake.

The sun was awake.

The world was awake because it was eight in the morning and it was time for his landlady to have her bath.

Con smiled at the thought.

This had become the highlight of his mornings for some reason. Well not for some reason, but for an obvious reason.

His landlady was worth it.

Everyone in the world would have to agree that it wasn't an easy task scaling the walls and roof of a two storey building.

Coupled with the fact that he had to avoid being spotted by the hundreds of people that traversed the street below and he also had to prevent the unfortunate occurrence that would be him falling off the side of the building and breaking all the bones in his body. Or getting run over by a moving car and dying a miserable death........., he was doing more than enough to atone for the lack of shame that should come with him peeping a woman in her bathroom.

Con knew he still had to get ready to go to work, but this could come first and the other, would come later.

Constantine got off the bed and dashed into his bathroom in a hurry.

In ten minutes he was done with his morning routine for personal hygiene and soon he had his clothes on. He and his landlady lived on the second floor, she had rented out the room on the main floor to a student who didn't really interfere in matters that didn't concern him.

The window outside Constantine's room led to a small sloped roof, a roof he had to be quick while stepping on unless he could risk the possibility of the weak wooden beams falling down and him falling down with it.

His beautiful landlady would be so pissed at that and she would ask what he was doing on that part of his window anyways.

Con didn't think his answer would make her sympathise with him for falling off the roof.

As sure footed as a cat Constantine was out of the window in a second, his leg stepping on the small slanted roof that was below him in fluid motion and with a flip in mid air, he soon had his fingers securely lodged in the space he had discovered about a month ago.

He was hanging by the roof now.

His landlady was Miss Aubrey VanDamne by name, and to the gods above and below Constantine could swear on his life that he had never seen a woman as pretty as her.

She was just twenty five and she had such luscious curves.

Her twin peaks looked firm and ripe, her face had the beauty of an angel and everything about her just screamed sensuality and allure.

She had just been recently divorced.

Constantine let out a silent scoff at that.

Apparently her former husband was some rich man that didn't know what he had and still went on cheating even after he had gotten married to such a precious treasure like Aubrey.

He had already even had a son with her.

What else was he looking for in a woman?

Aubrey had it all.

She had this laugh that would make you moan if you heard it and her smile could light up the darkest parts of your heart. She was the perfect mix of seductive and innocent, a diligent and hardworking mother who didn't take the fact that she was young and recently divorced as an avenue to act out and start sleeping around.

Constantine doubted she even spared any man a second glance.

She was focused like that.

Constantine had been attracted to her the very first day he had seen her. The same day he had taken up his ongoing occupation of a room in her house, and a month after he had been overjoyed to find out that the bathroom window that faced the sea and which was too high for his landlady to reach could be opened manually from the outside.

That day was the happiest Constantine had felt in a long while.

The fact he was happy despite the fact that he was violating the privacy of someone else made him feel disgusted with himself sometimes. He had made the promise to stop almost three times this month, but something always kept on making him go back.

Something that always managed to surface in his dreams and which he had bene trying to forget for a long while.

Constantine released his hold on the small ledge that bordered the roof and dropped without a sound on a small crevice, one that had a wall behind it and which would give him access to the window he had been seeking out.

The sound of a gunshot lingered in Con's ears, no matter the fact that he wasn't in the mood for hearing the sound of guns at the moment.

His hands worked the latch on the window deftly and soon it was open.

All he was waiting for now was the click of the door that would signal his beautiful landlady's arrival and which would mark another morning spent indulging in this secret of his.

Almost on cue she arrived and Con smiled.

Aubery was a beautiful woman to behold.

With brown hair like silk and blue eyes that would strike a cord in any man's heart, she was a beauty in her own right.

Pregnancy had done nothing to diminish the natural curves and shape she had, if anything her waist looked even tinier every passing day and the curve of her laps....

Constantine bit back a moan.

Such a beautiful woman wasn't meant to be working at a jewelry shop as a sales woman, she was meant to be put on a pedestal and deeply loved and cherished by the man who she had decided to give the honor of loving her.

Constantine watched her take her clothes off and let her hair fall. He felt his desire for her mount.

Life chose this moment to act and like a trick of the light, Con blinked and he was at the battlefield once more.

The sound of gunshots was like a symphony in the air. A symphony of death and destruction. Enemy tanks released shot after shot and automatic rifles blasted bullets at soldiers who hadn't even been aware of the fact that they would be in this sort of situation. Their location had been compromised. Constantine felt like screaming his lungs out. He watched his fellow comrades take shots to the head, to the leg, to the stomach where the bullet sometimes grazed by and ripped their skin spilling the intestines out. Their screams echoed in his head and the mighty rumbling of the enemy's war machines were enough to inspire fear into any soldier. Constantine peeped through the hole of his small hideout and in a split second he had fired a bullet. An enemy armor tank went up in flames and shots followed. "I was the one who leaked out our location." Constantine's eyes flew wide at the sound of the voice he heard and sure enough when he turned to look around, Mark stood there, almost

Con could see that Aubrey was enraged. For one her face had turned red and her nostrils were flaring. She was trying to rein her anger in but it wasn't working. It seemed these two had an issue to sort out and it would be normal for a tenant to want to be out of the way in a situation like this, but Constantine didn't trust this John guy. He looked like the sort of person that would do something foolish because he thought he was entitled enough to do it. The bodyguards he had behind him too didn't make matters any easier."I need the boy back Aubrey.""That wasn't what we agreed on John. That was not what we agreed on."Aubrey could hear the pain in her own voice. There was anger there too. She let herself bask in that anger and find strength from it. Oddly the presence of someone else also made her feel a level of reassurance. When she and John had divorced, they had signed a legally binding contract stating that she would be responsible for the care and raising of their son. She didn't want him to hurt her dumb ex husband too much. Constantine let out a resigned sigh and threw John back.No one expected him to go flying into the wall!John hit the wall with a thud and he felt his spine let out a sound. What the hell!He raised his head to look at the insolent son of a bitch that had caught his hand and almost broken it. The look Constantine returned made him feel that chill go up his spine again.John looked to his body guards."Is it until he kills me that you'll do something. Attack him you fools!"Constantine only smiled as the six men approached him.

Con watched as Jane flushed at his words and tried to keep a blush from spreading to her cheeks. He also watched her fail and chuckled as she blushed furiously.Jane didn't know if to count herself lucky or simply die from the level of embarrasment she was feeling at the moment. She was laying on the body of the man she had been harboring a crush on. And at work no less.Jane stood up as quickly as she could, getting off Constantine like he was a platter of hot coals and she would get burnt if she lay on him too much.Con only grinned slightly as she stood up.Jane was a good person, of course he wouldn't let her fall down when he knew he could do something to prevent it.A manager of Nurain falling down in front of mere guards didn't feel like something that was supposed to happen, and apart from that, Jane always dressed daringly. Her outfits usually had a pattern to them, the same pattern that almost every working lady seemed to use when they were dressing up for work, just that Ja

After all the guards had been assigned their duties, they disbanded from the main hall of the ground floor and went to attend to their various tasks. For Con that task was patrolling the perimeter of the Nurain building. It was one of his favorite things to do.Nurain's headquarters building was a fairly massive one. All of the company's new products would be displayed here first before they made their appearances at the company's smaller retail stores. Con always had a lot to look at whenever he was on patrol.Since this fashion company mostly focused on female wear and especially beautiful females, they were quite known now in Glover city. There were always a lot of patrons around and Constantine always enjoyed watching the beauties as they shopped and had a nice time making themselves beautiful. He was a shameless man, so he really didn't have any qualms with loving beautiful ladies so much, anyone who judged him for it could as well choke on their judgment. This life was very diff

Xavier stared at the files in his hands and tried not to get too scared by them. There was information on them, more information than he would have felt comfortable ever knowing but he could see what Con was so scared of now. He might even be sure that he had managed to see the things Con had not. To begin with, this world was not what they thought it was.At least it was not all they thought it was. It was much more than they imagined and the fact that Con had somehow managed to stumble on this clearly meant the cosmos was seeking their help, or rather Con's help. Somehow somewhere there was someone or something pushing Con towards making these decisions and he could feel it now. He was sure if he told Jane and Aubrey that they would plan to eat him up alive. Both him and that thing he felt was guiding Con into making the decisions he was making. The hackers seemed to be aiming for the security controls to switch them off. If they were petty thieves then he would make them pay. "What exactly did Lisa put in to make your hair this color?"Xavier could see Jane was getting distracted already. Her eyes were gleaming as she fingered his lock of hair and he could already see the longing in her.Jane wanted to cut his hair and take it in to be studied. He could proudly say that he had taught Jane as much as he could in the art of detectiving in a science lab. He had taught her how to determine how long a piece of fabric would retain its color if dyed, what mixture of dyes to use and what colors seemed to have an affinity for each other. In part he was a fundamental aspect to the success of Jane's clothing brand and he had felt a bit disappointed when she had abandoned their lab meetings to focus on leading her company, but now he could see that the spark wasn't totally dead yet.She looked at his hair with a clinical eye, from a scientific point of view. Chapter 164: "What's all the staring for?"

Clay left Lisa in the room and descended to the lab beneath her to check for himself how her father was doing. Maybe it was because he had been there when the man collapsed or maybe because he had been just as scared when it had all happened, but he had a deep feeling of worry for Mr Frost. There wasn't much for him to do concerning the cure Lisa had administered to her father. She seemed sure of it and it seemed the cure had worked the way she said it would. The ice core had been repaired. By a bunch of black petals. It still surprised him as to how that happened but as long as Lisa's father was out of the danger zone then he would be happy. They were in enough confusion as things stood already and more confusion was not something he wanted for any of them. What he wanted at the moment was to confirm that Lisa's father was okay, and if he was then maybe he could ask if they could run a brain scan on Lisa. She had lapsed off into thought again and it was making him feel a bit scared.

    Chapter 163.

Lisa could feel her heart slam into her chest the moment she heard the question. Her face turned red and she looked away, not because she was ashamed but because she was embarrassed."How the hell can you pop that kind of question on me so casually? Do I look like I have someone on my mind?""You look like you've been hella distracted and when girls are at your age they tend to think of boys twenty four seven. Can you see the reason for my curiosity now?"Lisa rolled her eyes and noticed how close she and Clay were. Closeness between the both of them had never bothered her, Clay was like a brother to her and she was like a sister to him, but he had grown these past few months and she wouldn't say she had failed to notice the changes in herself too. They had both grown a lot and somehow this kind of closeness made her extra aware of that.Everything around them was changing. Not just the climate or global warming, but mostly a lot of the other things, the more important things, the peo
