Chapter 1: Peeping through the bathroom window

Constantine woke up with a yawn, his body cracking in places he didn't think could make that kind of sound as he stretched and his eyes brimming with an alertness that shouldn't have been present in the eyes of someone who had just woken up.

The sun cast it's rays on the walls of his apartment and he could feel the heat those rays gave off.

The sky was awake.

The sun was awake.

The world was awake because it was eight in the morning and it was time for his landlady to have her bath.

Con smiled at the thought.

This had become the highlight of his mornings for some reason. Well not for some reason, but for an obvious reason.

His landlady was worth it.

Everyone in the world would have to agree that it wasn't an easy task scaling the walls and roof of a two storey building.

Coupled with the fact that he had to avoid being spotted by the hundreds of people that traversed the street below and he also had to prevent the unfortunate occurrence that would be him falling off the side of the building and breaking all the bones in his body. Or getting run over by a moving car and dying a miserable death........., he was doing more than enough to atone for the lack of shame that should come with him peeping a woman in her bathroom.

Con knew he still had to get ready to go to work, but this could come first and the other, would come later.

Constantine got off the bed and dashed into his bathroom in a hurry.

In ten minutes he was done with his morning routine for personal hygiene and soon he had his clothes on. He and his landlady lived on the second floor, she had rented out the room on the main floor to a student who didn't really interfere in matters that didn't concern him.

The window outside Constantine's room led to a small sloped roof, a roof he had to be quick while stepping on unless he could risk the possibility of the weak wooden beams falling down and him falling down with it.

His beautiful landlady would be so pissed at that and she would ask what he was doing on that part of his window anyways.

Con didn't think his answer would make her sympathise with him for falling off the roof.

As sure footed as a cat Constantine was out of the window in a second, his leg stepping on the small slanted roof that was below him in fluid motion and with a flip in mid air, he soon had his fingers securely lodged in the space he had discovered about a month ago.

He was hanging by the roof now.

His landlady was Miss Aubrey VanDamne by name, and to the gods above and below Constantine could swear on his life that he had never seen a woman as pretty as her.

She was just twenty five and she had such luscious curves.

Her twin peaks looked firm and ripe, her face had the beauty of an angel and everything about her just screamed sensuality and allure.

She had just been recently divorced.

Constantine let out a silent scoff at that.

Apparently her former husband was some rich man that didn't know what he had and still went on cheating even after he had gotten married to such a precious treasure like Aubrey.

He had already even had a son with her.

What else was he looking for in a woman?

Aubrey had it all.

She had this laugh that would make you moan if you heard it and her smile could light up the darkest parts of your heart. She was the perfect mix of seductive and innocent, a diligent and hardworking mother who didn't take the fact that she was young and recently divorced as an avenue to act out and start sleeping around.

Constantine doubted she even spared any man a second glance.

She was focused like that.

Constantine had been attracted to her the very first day he had seen her. The same day he had taken up his ongoing occupation of a room in her house, and a month after he had been overjoyed to find out that the bathroom window that faced the sea and which was too high for his landlady to reach could be opened manually from the outside.

That day was the happiest Constantine had felt in a long while.

The fact he was happy despite the fact that he was violating the privacy of someone else made him feel disgusted with himself sometimes. He had made the promise to stop almost three times this month, but something always kept on making him go back.

Something that always managed to surface in his dreams and which he had bene trying to forget for a long while.

Constantine released his hold on the small ledge that bordered the roof and dropped without a sound on a small crevice, one that had a wall behind it and which would give him access to the window he had been seeking out.

The sound of a gunshot lingered in Con's ears, no matter the fact that he wasn't in the mood for hearing the sound of guns at the moment.

His hands worked the latch on the window deftly and soon it was open.

All he was waiting for now was the click of the door that would signal his beautiful landlady's arrival and which would mark another morning spent indulging in this secret of his.

Almost on cue she arrived and Con smiled.

Aubery was a beautiful woman to behold.

With brown hair like silk and blue eyes that would strike a cord in any man's heart, she was a beauty in her own right.

Pregnancy had done nothing to diminish the natural curves and shape she had, if anything her waist looked even tinier every passing day and the curve of her laps....

Constantine bit back a moan.

Such a beautiful woman wasn't meant to be working at a jewelry shop as a sales woman, she was meant to be put on a pedestal and deeply loved and cherished by the man who she had decided to give the honor of loving her.

Constantine watched her take her clothes off and let her hair fall. He felt his desire for her mount.

Life chose this moment to act and like a trick of the light, Con blinked and he was at the battlefield once more.
