A calculative woman of great wiles. Sonia knew that she had miscalculated this time around.
What had she done to herself?
That bastard Jason had not only robbed her of her day, the day she had been preparing for a long time, but he had humiliated her as well. She knew how much she had worked.
Worked hard with everything she possessed. Her wiles. Her body. Her intelligence to get Matteo to finally propose to her and she had made him believe that it was his idea while she stood aside perfectly surprised that he loved her enough.
Of course, she knew he did not love her. She knew of his affairs after all just as she knew that he had been with a woman overnight. He came straight to the wedding venue from her place. Not only did the woman send Sonia the picture she took when Matteo was sleeping beside her; she recorded the video of when they were in action too.
The bitch!
She must have thought that Sonia would run off when she saw the clips and cancelled the wedding. The whore had calculated wrong. Sonia had come far to go back. She had been with Jason, enjoying his attention and love as he treated her better than most guys that would merely fuck her brains out and leave her for someone else in the end.
Jason was considerate and he loved her. Sonia loved him as well. As much as she could. He let her move in with him and he told her to stop working two jobs and schooling as she had been before they met.
How could she not love him when he made her life easier? For a while, she was even contented. Then Matteo had to make advances toward her.
Jason spoiled her that day as he had been so happy for getting the contract with the giant of the entertainment industry in California, Sundara. She had shopped to her heart’s content that day and steered him towards one of the most expensive restaurants in Dengal. The place where the who-is-who could be seen.
Sonia intended to be seen and she was glad that Jason had gone along with the plan. He did not bat his lash at the exorbitant bills on the menu. Sonia felt a tiny bit of guilt at how much the meal was costing him but she dismissed the guilt. She deserved to be pampered after all.
She was the most beautiful girl in her department and the one most guys wanted on their arms for a date. If she wanted an expensive dinner, it was only her right.
After they had finished their meal of Kusshi Oysters with butter, Sturgeon Caviar, spot Prawn with Asparagus with the choicest wine. They were having the dessert of salted butter Ice cream, well she was having it as Jason was not much for sweets. That was when Jason excused himself to use the restroom.
With her eyes on the firm backside that had few women turn around to see him leave, Sonia basked in the glow of being loved by such a man. Not only did he spoil her. As much as she felt she deserved of course but then she made do. He was great in bed as well and that was one of his great points for Sonia.
What good was a handsome man with that kind of lithe body who couldn’t fuck well? She counted herself lucky. She need not find another man to service her outside. Not when she had Jason.
She was wary of his recent talk about permanence though. Sonia loved him of course she did but she wanted more.
Just as if she had conjured him with the power of her mind. The more came into her line of vision almost immediately.
Matteo Fitzgerald.
She knew him. She was not a stalker, no. She only had every single magazine of him that came out. All forms of magazines in Dengal seemed to use him. Fashion magazine. Race cars magazine. Women magazine. Who wouldn’t want the kind of business using the young master of the Fitzgerald family could bring to them?
Hoarding these magazines was her little secret from Jason. The other one was that she had masturbated with his face in her mind’s eye. Not that he was that handsome. No, Jason had the advantage in that department. But the idea of having that much money at her disposal made Sonia wet. She wondered what it would feel like to be the young mistress of the Fitzgerald family.
When Jason hinted at permanence, she felt panic. But it was not the same when she thought of belonging to Matteo. Of course not, what else would a woman lack if she became a Fitzgerald?
Sonia was a clever woman who despise lack. Unlike her unambitious mother who remarried a man from the fucking no-where Arizona and moved with him to a goddamned ranch, Sonia had a lot of ambition and she was not about to let them go. Not when Matteo was still very single.
Her mother had given birth to a squalling red-faced baby. At fucking forty-five years. She sent the image to Sonia. As if she would risk her fair, delicate complexion in going to the county where they stayed.
Sonia’s blood boiled a bit as she saw a curvaceous brunette hanging on to Matteo’s arm but she adjusted her face into a very pleasing countenance. She was glad to see Matteo’s gaze on her when she glanced at him and she gave him a come-hither look before glancing away.
It worked.
He had sent the brunette away with one of his men in no time and he vane over to their table. Praying that Jason wouldn't get back in time, she played too hard to get but then he brought out the wads of hundred-dollar bills.
Sonia felt her muscles clenched as she tried to keep the disinterested look on her face while hoping he would just give him his number and the case before Jason got back. She was leaning toward him for him to tuck in the cash when Jason got back.
She had seen him first and quickly switched on her distressed look while cursing him inwardly for coming back early. Damn it. She had roughly calculated the wads of cash and estimated it to be at least a hundred thousand grand.
Her idiotic boyfriend had punched him in the face or was it the ear? Well, it didn't matter. What mattered most was that the cash flew towards her and magically found its way into her opened bag. Well, the show was worth it after all.
She could almost pat herself on the back for her performance when she remembered how she jumped up and cried to Jason of Matteo's pestering.
It was a pity that her protective boyfriend had ended up in jail. She was not sorry though about the aftermath.
She had found Matteo's whereabouts for weeks and finally met him at a strip club. He told her to show her sincerity if she wanted him to be lenient to Jason.
Being the supportive girlfriend that she was, what other choice did she have but to agree?
Not that she wanted to desert Jason, of course not. Was it her fault if she had simply forgotten to ask Matteo for his release when the latter was pampering her with things she had not thought she could have? Of course not. She was only a weak woman in the world of men after all.
She had made it happen. What millions of ladies had tried without much success. She, only she had made it happen.
After a lot of scheming and careful plans, she was going to be a Fitzgerald. But he had to ruin it all! She stalked from one end of the room to the other. Bent down to remove the heel she had customized for her.
Sonia flung the heels at the door. Fucking Jason had chosen today to come back from the prison to ruin her day!
She calmed herself and tried to put back her blond curled hair that threatened to slip from the chignon in place.
"Calm down, girl. You have to make the best use of this. Think of it. He must have brought you back here because he couldn't let you go"
Sonia nodded as the realization dawned on her. He still loved her! Of course, he loved her. He would be crazy not to. She was Sonia after all.
She had heard things about old love never dying or such bullshits! The only thing she missed from their day was the way he handled her in bed. Matteo was not so good.
If Jason still wanted her, who was she to say no? If she played her game well, she could still have the two. Jason as her lover. Matteo as her husband. Especially since she could see that Jason seemed to be more powerful than Fitzgerald now.
The dreaded Don had listened to him after all.
Sonia put her finger against her sensuous lips as a smile bloomed on her face "Yes, with the right persuasion she might even accept to be his. The right persuasion"
She looked around the spacious bedroom with its exexpensive-looking curtains, armoire, and king-size bed. She did not care much for the ambiance. What mattered was that it looked expensive.
Even though she had been kicking and screaming when she was brought upstairs when they arrived, the magnificence of the mansion did not escape her notice.
Jason's?
She looked back at the bed. Yes, she just might make this work.
She tried to straighten her appearance. There was not much she could do for her gown but she patted her hair back into place and bit her lips to make them plumper.
Yes, she would be ready.
Her head jerked towards the door when she heard a sound.
The knob turned.
"Dude! You have to let me in on what is happening! Man, I am sure that my heart was blown halfway across the Pacific and back! What the heck?!" Silas exclaimed the moment Don left them alone.Well, as alone as one could be. If you want to overlook the silent men in black who stood within and outside the magnificent mansion. The Kalamaro mansion. Don had called it.Jason could not even begin to comprehend the hugeness of the mansion that sat on six acres of land. It had its own golf course. Jason had heard horses neighing and he saw some afar feeding somewhere near where Don had called the stable. As much as the mansion spread out majestically on the land. There was vast unused land spread out. When Don mentioned a shooting range, Jason refrained from asking him just what the targets were. He doubted if that was the question the Grand Patriarch was supposed to ask. He would learn more later though. He had learned a lot but even he knew that there was still a lot more for him to learn
The man standing guard in front of the room where she was kept opened the door for Jason as he approached. Jason nodded at him and the man shut the door behind him. The nod was more of a reassurance to the man that he would be fine. The man might have followed him otherwise. He realised that at least two of them was supposed to be with him at all time. Jason had drawn the line when they almost followed him into the restroom. He could tell that they were reluctant as they had never disobeyed Don’s order before but they finally nodded and backed off, automatically confirming his authority over them now. He knew having people at his beck and call would take some getting used to but as he had been informed, he have to learn fast. There was a lot to do. Right after he took care of this little business. “Oh, Jason! Oh, my love! Thank you for saving me!” she flew at him in her grotesque-looking gown. Jason almost laughed out loud at her performance. Especially since fat tears were trai
“How can this happen!” the man growled in anger. His fury was palpable throughout the building of one of his majestic homes. The men standing guard in front of the study door dared not ventured in when he was like that. Not unless they wanted to lose their life. He swept his hand through the contents on his table, stationaries and clutters tumbled to the floor and a loud crash resounded when he tossed the snifter in his hand at the antique mirror above the mantle. “This is unacceptable!” he shouted “Nobody! Nobody deserved it more than I do! Nobody would take it away from me!” he roared and frissons of fear trickled down the spine of all that could hear him. He calmed himself down and smiled sinisterly. He shouldn’t agitate himself so. He thought as he sat back in his high-backed chair in the dimly-lit room. The maids knew better than to keep the room otherwise. The dimness of the room made it so much better when he put on his favourite images and motion pictures. The dimness of t
“Sir, is it time?” says the message.“No, it is not” Jason replied. He tucked his phone back into his pocket and looked at himself in the cheval mirror in his walk-in closet. He had on a striped shirt and suit pants. His black coat hung on the rack where one of his men had hung it earlier. He put on the black shoes that had been polished to perfection. Jason could imagine seeing his reflection in it if he so chose.Today is the day. He thought to himself as he picked a matching black hat. He looked at the array of walking canes in a row at the other end of the closet and shook his head. No, he wasn’t going that route. He understood that he must look the part but he was drawing the line at walking about like a self-important aristocrat. He knew that it was not about the extras. It was what he had inside that mattered. The Knights would expect a lot from him. Most of them would look down on him of course, which was expected as he had not been part of them since the onset yet there was n
The meeting was to be held at The Royadine Hotel. The most prestigious hotel not only in Dengal but in the whole of California State.Don arrived with his entourage to accompany Jason to the meeting venue.“They are waiting for you, your grandness”When Jason realized that additional security guards were to be added to the four he intended to take with him already, he almost dismissed the idea but then he thought that Don did know how these things work after all. If he saw it fit that Jason should make such an entrance, that had to be the way it was done.It wouldn’t be appropriate to appear to The Knights on the first day not up to par so he left the arrangement to Don.When they departed, no single soul who saw the entourage would make the mistake of not realising that the electric blue Koenigsegg Trevita carried someone of great affluence. It was just like a presidential motorcade. Less evident because Jason drew the line at six vehicles when Don would have preferred more.Don’s me
The meeting went well. Considering. If one could judge from the pleased look on the knights’ faces, they were happy with the choice of their former leader. Or they chose to accept out of having no other choice. As they all reported how things were going in their jurisdiction and their suggestions, some of which Jason adopted and some dismissed, Jason knew that they were all itching to ask about the former Patriarch but none of them had ventured to ask the question yet. After a while, Jason leaned back in his chair and smiled roguishly. His smile was made more fearsome by the fact that only his mouth could be fully seen beneath the mask “I think we have had enough of business for the day. Let us have some refreshments” He looked around the table and they voiced their agreement. He smiled again, looking directly at Andre, who squirmed in his seat as he dreaded the moment that the patriarch would want to talk about the impertinence of his family. Jason deliberately let the silence b
“You had no idea?” Jason asked.“Not at all” Don replied with an astonished look. “None of us knew much about his personal life for sure but we would have thought that he would let us know that important information,” he said with a shake of his head.“We would have thought that his son would be his successor,” the general said then he looked sharply at Jason, slack-jawed “Are you?”Jason was lost for a moment, then he laughed as he realized what the man meant “Am I what? His son?”He nodded and it was apparent that most of them had the same thought as well. Jason thought for a moment about claiming that. That would surely put the wanted man on edge if he believed that he had made a mistake but then Jason dismissed that idea. There are other ways to make it happen after all.He shook his head with a smile “No, I am not. I am but a… beneficiary”They turned back to their meal while talking to one another about how they had no idea of the fact that their leader had a son or any such f
Jason decided to shed his role for the day, so he decided to go to a place where he could be just him. To the one person who had always been able to know him truly. To the one person who had been able to get to him even when he was nothing but a belligerent lad who thought he knew all, he had to when he set out on his own. To Celia Rouarke. Jason dismissed his security details as he informed them he wouldn’t need them where he was headed. Theo, his head of security suggested that they should stay around the vicinity then even if they wouldn’t follow him to where he was going, that way they could easily catch up with him. Jason agreed. Driving through the middle-class neighbourhood of Dame-Allen brought back nostalgia Jason. He could see himself as an eighteen-year-old, nonchalantly holding his backpack on his shoulder as if it did not matter if he was accepted or not even though his heart was thumping. He had just left the foster system, full of vigour and assurance of how he was g
