"What?! No, I won't divorce Jade, Grandma! Never!" said Tony in a high tone.

He's so shocked to hear that Tiffany asked him to divorce his wife, right now, in front of all the members of the Robertson Family.

Tiffany, on the other side, looked at Tony angrily, then she looked back at Josh.

"Josh, is your son-in-law always this barbaric?" she quipped.

Josh's face turned red again. He really felt humiliated by having a poor, useless man like Tony as his son-in-law.

And just now this trash son-in-law made him feel much more humiliated.

"Watch your mouth, Tony! How dare you speak in that tone to my mom!" scolded Josh.

"But, Dad, Grandma just said—"

"Just shut up, Tony! Shut your fucking mouth and get back!" shouted Josh, angrily.

Josh didn't want his extended family to look down on him any less. It was the chance for him to show them that he was the one in control of his little family.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just Tony that he had to deal with. Jade, his beloved daughter, stepped up and defended Tony in front of him.

"Tony's right, Dad. I'm his wife. How could I accept another man's proposal to me? Whether it's Bobby or anyone else, there's no way I would accept that."

"Jade, you better shut your mouth too!" Josh responded.

"Dad!"

"Just shut up!"

The situation was heating up. Josh was like a volcano that erupted and flowed hot lava. Now anyone who offends him could be hit by his hot lava.

Josh looked at Tony again and approached him. He grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled Tony's toned body towards him.

"Hurry up! Divorce my daughter! If you divorce her now, this very second, I will be kind to you. I'll give you 100 thousand dollars. With that money, you can live for a year without having to work!" Josh said.

Tony looked at his father-in-law coldly. He was getting angry with him, but he had to hold himself.

Slowly, with gentle movements, Tony released Josh's grip from the collar of his shirt.

"Dad, as I've said so many times, I will never divorce Jade. I will only divorce Jade if Jade doesn't want to be with me anymore," said Tony, politely.

But then…

Bang!

Josh slapped Tony. The slap was so hard that the sound made the people who heard it gasp.

"Who do you think you are, huh? You are just a poor guy who was pulled into my family by my father! You don't deserve to be with my daughter!" Josh shouted.

"That's right! The one who deserves to be Jade's husband is a super-rich man who is the heir to his father's business empire. If she hadn't married you, she would have married a man like that!" Sasha stepped forward, joining in the attack on Tony.

"Dad, Mom, you two are going too far!" Jade protested.

Josh looked at Jade angrily, approaching her, intending to slap her too. But, he suddenly couldn't move his raised hand.

"Dad, please don't be rough on Jade," said Tony, the one who was holding Josh's hand.

"You bastard! Let go of my hand!" Josh swung his hand free.

"Enough!" exclaimed Tiffany. "Did you forget that this is my birthday party? You think you deserve to act like this here?"

Josh gasped. His face immediately turned pale.

"I'm sorry, Mom. I… I lost control. I'm sorry," he said.

At this point, a horn sounded from outside. People's attention was immediately drawn to the door.

Not long after, the door opened and a man appeared, wearing a suit and carrying a bouquet of flowers.

"Happy birthday, Grandma Tiffany! Long and healthy life to you!"

It's Bobby, the only son of Hammond Starkluson, one of the richest men in the country. His elegant appearance reflected his class. Behind him, several of his servants came in carrying gift boxes.

"Bobby, you come faster than I expected. Come here!" Tiffany enthusiastically welcomed Bobby.

The people in the room themselves looked at Bobby in amazement.

The Robertson family was actually a well-respected rich family in Karnaan, but when compared to Bobby's family, the Starkluson family, they were still nothing.

"As I promised, Grandma Tiffany, I brought you super luxurious gifts from the US!" Bobby said, smiling broadly.

"Uncle Josh, Aunt Sasha, how are you? I also brought gifts for you!" he continued, greeting Josh and Sasha.

"Is that true, Bobby? There are gifts for us too?" Sasha asked.

"Of course, Auntie."

"There's a gift for me too, Bobby?" Josephine joined in.

Bobby winked at Josephine, and said, "Don't worry, little sister. I also have a gift for you. In fact, I have gifts for everyone in this room. My servants will bring them all later!"

Suddenly, the people in the room were clapping, cheering for Bobby.

This was clearly Bobby's strategy to show how rich he was and how high his status was. And when he looked at Tony, a disdainful smile appeared on his face.

"Grandma Tiffany, as I told you this morning, on this occasion, I also want to propose to Jade. Is it okay if I do it now? Or should I wait until your birthday party is over?" Bobby asked.

"Oh, no problem, Bobby. It's okay if you want to do it now. You've come a long way here. Come on, do what you want to do!" Tiffany said.

Jade glared at Tiffany. Earlier, Esther clearly said that only family members could attend her grandmother's birthday party. But now, Bobby, an outsider, was given this privilege. How unfair!

"Okay then," said Bobby. "Uncle Josh, Aunt Sasha, I want to propose to your eldest daughter, Jade. Apart from the gifts for you that I mentioned earlier, I have also prepared this jewelry package. They are all pure diamonds. The total exceeds five million dollars! Please accept this."

“Five million dollars?!” Sasha choked. She accepted the gifts while looking at Josh in disbelief.

“Look at all this jewelry, Josh. They’re very luxurious. Bobby is really generous with us. We should have had him as our son-in-law,” said Sasha.

“Let me see them, Mom. Oh God! These are the prettiest jewelry I’ve ever seen in my life!” said Josephine who came forward, taking a look at the jewelry package.

Bobby smiled arrogantly. He then glanced at Tony condescendingly. It’s time for him to show off while trying to take Tony down.

“Hi, Tony. How are you doing? Still working as a security guard, huh?” asked Bobby, mockingly.

“He just got fired, Bobby. Now he is jobless for the umpteenth time!” Sasha answered.

“What? Jobless again? Well well well… you’re really such a trashy husband, Tony. You really enjoy depending on your wife’s family for your life. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself, huh?” provoked Bobby.

“I don't know whether he still has shame or not. He is useless. You should have been the one who became my son-in-law, Bobby!” said Sasha.

Bobby showed Tony his arrogant smile again, and said, “You heard that, Tony? It should have been me who married Jade, not a poor, pathetic guy like you!”

Tony stared at Bobby angrily. His neck veins tightened. He really wanted to slap Bobby hard several times.

“And this one is for you, Jade. The most special gift. A diamond-studded necklace worth two million dollars," said Bobby, smiling at Jade confidently.

“T-two million dollars? For a single necklace?!” Sasha choked again. Now even Josh was stunned, covering his mouth with his right hand.

The diamonds on the necklace shined dazzlingly. Josephine was also stunned, as were the other women who looked at the necklace.

Two million dollars for a necklace. That was fantastic!

Waiting for Jade’s response, Bobby glanced at Tony again condescendingly.

Smiling crookedly, he said, “You know what, Tony, if I was the one who married Jade last year, Jade would be the happiest woman in the world because I can give her anything that she wants. I’m not a lame joke like you who can only buy a cheap couple of rings for your marriage.”

Bobby burst out laughing. Almost everyone in the room laughed along with him.

Right at this moment, Tony finally made a move. He stepped over to Bobby and took the necklace he was offering to Jade, threw it on the floor, and then stomped on it.

Everyone was shocked. The necklace chain was instantly broken. The diamonds were scattered everywhere.

"Jade is my wife, Bobby. Where is your fucking brain, that you think you can propose to my wife?!" said Tony, coldly.
