Tony slammed the door shut. For a split second, Bernard caught a glimpse of a pair of legs sprawled across the doorway. Two of Bernard's personal bodyguards were stationed outside Erina's room. Tony couldn't believe his eyes. Jessica was standing there, and the way she’d walked straight up to him after stepping off the elevator told him she was here for him. “Tony, there’s something you need to know,” Jessica said, her voice serious. Tony stared at her, trying to process this sudden appearance. “Ma’am, please back away. We’re trying to secure this individual. He’s dangerous,” one of the security guards surrounding Tony said. Jessica glanced at the guard coldly, then ignored him. “Ma’am, please stop right there!” another guard warned. She ignored him again. One of the guards was reassigned from guarding Tony to blocking Jessica. This time, her progress stopped. “Ma’am, for your own safety, please stop approaching and let us—” Whack! Even though Bernard had given his orders clearly, none of the police officers approached. They remained in their respective positions, as if they were waiting for the real order.
