Chapter #29

By morning, Brandon had yet to regain consciousness from his stupor.

As the sun shone and its light entered through the cracks in the bamboo booth, Brandon slowly opened his eyes. He cast his eyes around the room.

"What has happened to me? Why am I already here?" he muttered to himself.

Brandon tried to remember what happened to him last night, but he didn't remember it at all.

"Where did the old man go? Why was I left alone? That old bastard, he scared the shit out of me."

Just as Brandon was about to get off the bale, the door of the hut suddenly opened. Suddenly, Brandon was startled and almost fell off the bale.

It was Mr. Badri who opened the door, carrying food.

"You're awake, young man! I brought some food for you, eat up!" greeted Mr. Badri.

Brandon glared at the food that Mr. Badri brought, he immediately took it and ate it until it was gone.

"You look very hungry, young man! How are you feeling today?" asked Mr. Badri to start the conversation.
