Chapter 248

Lucas woke up the next morning with a terrible migraine. It felt as though his brain was tearing apart and despite how strong he planned to feel, he couldn’t help it.

He let out a soft groan after which he stirred on the bed and slowly sat up, wiping his red and swollen eyes.

Just as he darted his eyes around the room, he caught sight of an envelope laying beside his bed, with a stamp on top. He gulped down hard…only one person dropped envelopes with stamp and that was no other person but his grandfather.

He slowly picked up the envelope, tore it apart and brought out a letter that was as brief as anything.

“Breakfast by 7. Don’t be late”, the letter said.

Lucas took in another deep breath as he rubbed his forehead in a bid to ease the pain he felt in his head. He was weak and sick and tired of everything.
