Alphonse stopped abruptly in his steps as he closed the door to his study. He stopped almost scared to see her there and surprised but more so he was shocked and worried. She was here in his house where Charlotte was and he quickly saw his relationship hanging on a really thin thread. "Carla?" He called her name to be sure he was not seeing things, it's been months and a week after she sent Carina to deliver those pictures to him. He quickly remembered that he had not gone through those pictures since he hid them and lied to Charlotte. "Hello Mr. Fischer, you have been away for too long. Did you miss me?" She said, her crossed legs swinging as her shiny red heels gleamed against the bright light. "Uh, hi. What are you doing here? I have not heard from you in a while" he said and closed the door to the study. "Did you get my message?" She asked and her legs stopped moving, Carla looked extra beautiful today. She had a new haircut and her skin shone extra bright today, if his h
“You kissed her, there's no way you can say you love me and go ahead and kiss another woman" Charlotte said, the different ways Alphonse held her, treated her and made her feel special for a while ran through her mind. It broke her heart even further when she imagined that he gave Carla the same treatment while she stayed at home awaiting him like he had wanted the first time. "Charlotte hold on, you're jumping into conclusions, that's not what happened" he tried to explain but Charlotte only chuckled bitterly. "Did you both kiss or not?" She asked before she quickly raised an index finger to shut him up from answering her first question. "Did you both kiss while we were involved?" She rephrased her question and Alphonse knew there was no way he could reply that question without hurting her further. Silence stretched for a tad minute before he nodded "Yes, but baby it's not..." Charlotte did not let him finish before she scoffed bitterly and bit her lip in pain to hold in her tea
Alphonse's loud knock thundered on the door to the home of the elderly he had rushed to after roaming through three locations in the last three hours. His headache had been long forgetten as he sped after Charlotte, trying to trace and track her down to no avail. Her number was no longer reachable and it felt like she had purposely disconnected the number. He first went to her house, the one she lived with her parents when her mother was still alive, he had forced the information out of Peter and wanted to beat himself up for not knowing such information about her. When he got there, as he knocked loudly and called her name her neighbors came out to say they have not seen her and her father in a long while and the last time she came here she happily came to take some things to her father and gave them gifts.Alphonse knew that was true because Charlotte was a very kind person, the neighbor had to tell him to check her mother's grave if it was so important and urgent that he find her,
As Alphonse opened his eyes he came face to face with the beautiful lights of the chandelier hanging from the ceiling and when he turned he faced the vintage walls of his living room.He slowly picked himself up from the makeshift bed on his couch and wondered what happened and how he got here."Peter" he called for his butler weakly but the old man was nowhere to be found.Alphonse picked up the glass of water on the table beside him and drank the cold content inside of it."Charlotte" he called again for the other occupant of the house forgetting what happened and had transpired between them in the early hours of the day.Gently but slowly he picked himself up from the couch and headed upstairs where he would lay comfortably and figure out what was going on.He stumbled towards his bedroom, still weak but needing to lay in his bed and relax his weak limbs. At the top of the stairs he stood and wondered why his house was empty, where was Peter and where was Charlotte and what happene
"It's a week until the elections and there are protesters everywhere. This is a good sign for us, they're saying the mayor did nothing to reduce the tax and their pays. Rather Harris is busy increasing taxes every single day. Even last week she passed a bill to add two more percent to the tax. This works for us now because Mr. Fischer will pick on this and reassure the people of increasing salaries and looking into the tax increments" Olivia said to Peter as he escorted her into the house and into Alphonse's study. "Okay, things are looking bright for us: I just need to prepare him for a press conference in the next one hour. But first we need some of his employees in the office to grant the press some interviews and tell them how good of a boss he has been to them since he took over the seat" Peter said to Olivia who nodded in approval. "Yes. That's it Peter, pick some of his best employees, the married ones with beautiful faces. We can't have some angry and stressed looking people
It was two days to the elections and Alphonse sat down going over last minute plans, he had sent his people out to campaign instead of him. Having Peter and Olivia stand in for him and giving them enough funding as usual. He had stopped his stupendous and large intake of alcohol after quickly seeing a therapist and spending time with Paul the last three days. They played games from hunting birds and pool, all done to lift his spirits but what made him happier was visiting Jennifer Warner in her and Paul's new home. The woman had welcomed him and given him a sweater she had knitted for him while she was recovering, Alphonse gladly collected the clothes and spent time with them while Jillian cooked for them. He enjoyed his time with them and for a while he forgot about Charlotte as he enjoyed life with his new found family. After that he promised to check up on them regularly since he enjoyed the stories Jennifer told him, the woman a little too infatuated by him and loving him li
Alphonse took an excuse to go and take the call that had come through his phone, he would have sat to hear the results of the elections but this was the private investigator that he had hired secretly to look for Charlotte. The elections had happened yesterday and everyone came out en masse to vote for their respective candidates and right now he had people who gathered in his house to watch the local news with him and hear the results of the elections. But as he sat with his people, Olivia on edge, drinking wine and eating a lot of popcorn and chocolates, Peter warning her about eating junks and eating real food, Paul assuring Jillian he would get the takeouts for their night together and Cake for his mother as she requested, his mother checking in on him every second, he wished he had someone who cared for him like Charlotte did and sat with him now to calm his raging nerves. Soon the call came in and he stood up quickly to go his study and take it as he did not want anyone to kn
“Congratulations” a voice said from front of Alphonse and he raised his head from his phone. Since Peter was not around and the house was empty, his security detail outside were under strict orders to not let some certain people inside his house, he had forgotten to add her name. He was in his study in a meeting when his security called him to inform him that he had a visitor, the way Alphonse had arranged his list of wanted visitors, whoever was important was who was let inside his house. So he deemed the visitor very important since he knew it was not any of his family members, so he excused himself out of the meeting to go to his living room only to meet Carla Harris. She sat smoking with a smile, her leg swinging on top of the other as she crossed it. Alphonse paused and put his phone in his pocket before sighing and folding his arms in disappointment. “Not now Carla” that was his greeting to her and little did she know that it was for her own good also. "Why? I'm not here
