Chapter 34: The Gathering

The night was heavy with anticipation as Victor, Selene, Lucian, and Orpheus prepared for the inevitable confrontation. The plan had been set in motion, and now all that was left was to wait. But the waiting was the hardest part. Each passing moment felt like an eternity, the tension in the air almost unbearable.

Victor stood on the roof of the safehouse, gazing out at the city below. The cathedral loomed in the distance, a dark silhouette against the night sky. It was a place that held many memories for him, both good and bad. It was fitting that the final confrontation would take place there.

Selene joined him on the roof, her presence a comforting reminder that he wasn’t alone in this fight. She stood beside him, her eyes scanning the horizon. “The city feels different tonight,” she said softly. “Like it’s holding its breath.”

Victor nodded, his expression somber. “It knows what’s coming. The city and I have been connected for so long… it’s as if it senses the danger.”
